<strong><u>Just a Grease Monkey</u></strong>

<em>A wife's one night stand is revealed after her drunken boss slips up. This is not a BTB story.</em>

My wife Janet, or Jan as I referred to her, and I have been married for 28 years. We had a good marriage until it wasn't. I'm Rob Peters, by the way. I left school and worked as an apprentice for a Ford Dealership, after I qualified I moved around to earn better money. 24 Years ago I started working for Parry's Mercedes dealership, I have been there ever since. Jan worked as an account advisor for Collins and Sons, they were a firm of accountants and management consultants.

The reason I stayed with a Mercedes dealership was mostly money, the other reason was training. Early on in my career I was sent to the factory in Stuttgart, Germany. I spent a few weeks each year out there, apart from learning about cars, I also learned the basics of German language. Although most people refer to me as a mechanic, my official job title is Senior Vehicle Technician. Mercedes like their staff to be referred to in this way.

Parry's moved to new premises 5 years ago. We all got our own work area, ramp, bench and locker. Being a new workshop it was all very nice and clean, we were expected to keep it that way. I knew a lot of the customers quite well. If the customer had a question, the service counter staff always called us to speak to them. It was something Mercedes encouraged, as did Stanley Parry. Stan, as we all knew him, retired 4 years ago, his son James took over running the show. James was a nice guy. He started out as a trainee technician and then moved around to other jobs. Stan said he had to know a bit of everything if he was eventually going to run the place.

Most of our customers were local businessmen, or wives of well off husbands. One of our longest serving customers was Charles "Charlie" Collins. Whenever his car was in for a service or a repair, he insisted I was to do the work. James was happy with the arrangement as it kept Charlie happy. Whenever we were at a function arranged by Jan's employer, she called him Mr Collins. She was flabbergasted when I referred to him as Charlie.

"Rob! You can't call him Charlie." Jan blustered.

"Why not? That's what he asked me to call him." I laughed and explained that Charlie was a customer I had known for years.

Jan and I had a good lifestyle. Our only son, Scott, lived away from home with his girlfriend. We took a holiday each year, since Scott moved out we started taking weekend breaks as well.

Having the house to ourselves was a godsend, it meant we could have sex whenever we wanted. Jan was 5' 6" tall with a slim figure. She ate right and exercised regularly. Her breasts were a 36D, with her red hair and green eyes she was stunning. I joined Jan for some of her exercise routine, it allowed me to keep a reasonable build and weight. I weighed around 180lbs, most of that was muscle, due to my job. Jan loved spontaneous sex, many times we were going at it when her parents called round. It was easy to get Jan revved up, all I did was suck her nipples and place my hand on her pussy. Jan kept her pubic hair trimmed, finding her clit with my tongue was easy.

We always knew Jan's parents would call round on a Sunday after they had been to church, that gave us time for sex and to get cleaned up. Their way of thinking was that sex was for producing children, and to be done in bed. Not something to do over the kitchen table or sofa, both of which we have frequently done. The only place we didn't have sex was in our cars. Jan drove a new mini, so it was a bit cramped. I didn't want to clean the seats in my 10 year old Mercedes.

It was just over a year ago that I started to get a few little concerns. Jan's old divisional director had retired, his replacement was a guy called Duncan Millington. Jan started to talk about him all the time, it got so bad I zoned out and didn't listen. The first time I met the man I took an instant dislike to him. Jan's employer hosted a summer picnic every year, basically it was a do for all employees' families. This year it was hotter than usual. I went dressed in jeans, t -shirt and training shoes. Jan wore jeans, a t- shirt and sandals.

We always took a taxi, that way we could both drink. As we got out of the taxi I spotted Frank and Sylvia. Sylvia worked with Jan. Frank and I had become friends, through our wives. The picnic was held in the grounds of an old manor house and hotel. As we walked in the women talked, I was chatting with Frank as usual. I asked him if he had met the new guy yet.

"No, but I'm sick of hearing his fucking name!" Frank replied.

"Same here, mate. I wouldn't mind but she never spoke about anyone else this way."

"If he's here maybe we can find out what all the fuss is about." Frank and I headed to the bar for drinks, and our wives found a table to sit at. We hadn't been sitting for long when some pretty boy arsehole walked over.

"Janet, Sylvia, good afternoon, Nice to see you both. I assume these are your husbands?"

"Rob Peters, Jan's husband." I replied.

"Frank Clark, Sylvia's husband." Frank replied, staring at the man.

"I'm Duncan Millington, your wives work for me." He smiled a sickly smile. "Jan, I need to talk to you about the account meeting on Monday." He held out his hand.

"I don't think so mate, she's not on the clock now, whatever it is will have to wait until Monday morning." I spoke before Jan could stand up. Millington was clearly not impressed, so he turned and walked away. I watched as he joined a young woman with 2 kids in tow.

"For Christ sake Rob, that's my boss." Janet hissed at me.

"Pompous fucking twat. He wants to talk shop, do it during work hours." I replied.

"As he is my boss, I was going to introduce you. I thought you might get along with him."

"No chance of that. I have already decided I can't stand the prick." I replied. Sylvia and Frank both smiled.

"Rob's right Jan, the man is a jumped up pillock." Frank replied.

After that things settled down, shithead never bothered us again that day. When Jan excused herself to use the ladies toilet I spoke to Sylvia.

"Sylvia, is there something going on I should know about?"

"No Rob, not from what I can tell." Sylvia leaned over and talked quietly. "Having said that, I think he would like there to be something going on."

"That's what worries me. Can you keep an eye on things between them for me, Sylvia. I know Jan's a friend, but I need to know what his game is." Sylvia nodded and agreed. Frank offered to help me kick the shit out of Millington.

I looked out for Jan, she came straight back to the table. Millington was with his wife and kids. The four of us sat around drinking and talking, Jan appeared to have got over how rude I was to her boss. When Jan and Sylvia joined some other women to dance, Frank and I stayed at the table, we both kept our eyes on Millington. When the event wound up we said our goodbyes and left, Sylvia had my mobile phone number in case she needed it.

Jan stopped mentioning Millington at home, when we spoke about our respective days she kept it generic. I was hoping it was because she knew how I felt about the bloke. I had done a little research on Duncan Millington, he came from a well off family. From what I could fathom out he moved from one job to another very quickly, usually moving up the corporate ladder. The real shock was his wife, she was filthy rich in her own right, compared to her Millington was a pauper.

Our sex life didn't suffer, we still had spontaneous sex during the week, Saturday night was always a long session. Jan always put a towel on the bed, she changed the sheets on a Sunday morning.

I was still slightly concerned about Jan and her boss, but my worries had eased a little. That changed when Sylvia called me a few weeks later. She explained that Millington had an early meeting with a client the following Monday, as it was an early meeting he was going to travel and stay over on Sunday night. For some reason he wanted Jan to attend with him, that had never happened before in all the years she had worked there.

I thought about it and threw a spanner in the works, without telling Jan I booked a cheap weekend break to Prague for us.

That evening Jan mentioned she might have to travel for work at the weekend.

"I hope not, I have booked a weekend away for us. I thought we could both do with the break."

"That's nice, where did you book?" Jan asked.

"Prague. We fly out Friday evening and return on Sunday night. You'll have to say you can't travel for work, the trip is non refundable, Jan." It was, but she didn't know that.

Sylvia called me to say that Jan had said she wouldn't be available at the weekend, by all accounts Millington was not happy. We had a great weekend in Prague, Jan loved it.

We went out for a really nice meal, after that we danced the night away in a club. Back at the hotel we had a short sex session, as usual Jan got off and the bed got soaked.

Sylvia let me know that Millington begrudgingly asked Jan if she had a nice weekend.

"Yes, it was lovely, thank you. Sorry I couldn't travel for work." Jan replied

"Never mind, I am sure there will be other times." Millington smiled as he replied.

I knew I was going to have my work cut out for me. If Millington suggested traveling midweek, I was fucked for ruining his plans. I decided to be open about my concerns and talk to Jan. I asked her to sit with me that evening. I had to be careful as I didn't want to drop Sylvia in the shit.

"Jan, you know my opinion of your boss." Jan nodded. "As much as I enjoyed the weekend in Prague, I only booked it to stop you travelling with him for work."

"Why would you do that, Rob?"

"Because I don't like him, I certainly don't trust him. In all the years you have worked at Collins, you have never had to travel. I have seen the way Millington looks at you, I have to say I don't like it. You know me well enough by now to know how I'll react if anything happens between you two

"I would never cheat on you, Rob. You must know that?"

"I would like to think that, but from what I hear he spends a lot of time talking to you. He also spends a great amount of time looking at you."

"Who told you that?" Jan asked me, she did not look happy.

"Never mind who told me. It's nice to know I have a concerned friend where you work."

Jan repeated that she would never cheat on me, we spent the rest of the evening watching television.

One month later Millington said he needed Jan to travel with him again, this time they would be staying in a hotel on Wednesday night. I couldn't do anything to stop Jan going. I warned her about her boss, and what would happen if she cheated. I talked to Jan as she packed her small travel case, at least there was no sexy lingerie in there. Jan agreed to call me from the hotel, she assured me it would be alright.

I spoke with Jan in the evening, she assured me Duncan was being a perfect gentleman. I thought that he wouldn't know what a gentleman was if they kicked him in the arse. Frank and Sylvia turned up just after the phone call ended.

I was starting to think that maybe I was being paranoid. I lived in hope that Jan would turn Millington down. Sylvia told me that she booked the hotel rooms, she put them on different floors. It wasn't much but it was all I could hope for.

Sylvia did let me know that Jan was polite to Millington, polite but not encouraging in any way.

We had a drink as they tried to reassure me that Jan would be sensible, I tried to make it look as if I believed them. When Frank and Sylvia left I went to bed, I didn't sleep well at all. I felt like shit in the morning. I really hoped that Jan turned him down. If she did or didn't, how would I know?

Jan didn't act any different when she arrived at home. She assured me that Millington behaved himself, I wasn't sure if she was telling the truth or not. When we went to bed that night we had sex, that was nothing unusual. Jan didn't feel or behave any different, I put my worries behind me as we made love.

Sylvia kept me informed on Millington's antics, she overheard him saying to Jan that I was just a grease monkey.

Jan wasn't asked to travel any more, which pleased me. Sylvia let me know that Jan and Millington sometimes met clients for lunch, they were never gone for any extended amount of time. Things took a nosedive in December, we attended the Collins &amp; Sons Christmas party.

As with the summer picnic it was me Jan, Sylvia and Frank sitting together. When the taxi dropped us off I spotted Millington getting out of a car, he was alone. His car was a BMW 530d estate, I laughed. Being a Mercedes man I hated BMW cars, I considered them to be driven by idiots, in this case I was right. When I mentioned him being alone, Jan suspected why.

"His kids have been ill all week, his wife probably didn't want to leave them with a sitter."

The party was going well, we had all enjoyed ourselves, so far. It was a few hours before Millington approached our table.

"Would you like to dance, Jan." He asked. I couldn't believe the cheek, not asking me first.

"No she wouldn't. It's polite to ask her husband first, as you didn't ask me she cannot dance with you!" I stared at him to let him know it wasn't open to discussion. He turned and stormed off. Jan shook her head and stared at me.

"You had better hope he doesn't ask again, he will get the same answer." I asked Frank to keep an eye on Millington if I went to the bar or the toilet.

It was on my way back from the toilet that things happened, Millington was stumbling around, clearly drunk. He tried to provoke me by saying how Jan deserved better than just a grease monkey, I was doing my best to ignore the twat.

I could be so much better for Jan than you. I could keep her satisfied in and out of bed. I think she is a wonderful woman, and that cute birthmark is so nice."

There was no way he could have known about Jan's birthmark, unless he had seen her naked. I turned and headbutted him, his nose started to bleed. I punched him in the guts and stormed off to confront Jan, she was dancing with Sylvia and some other women. I grabbed her and spun her towards me.

"You lying bitch. You told me that he left you alone, so tell me how he knows about your birthmark?" I was yelling at her over the sound of the music.

Jan stopped and stared at me, she put her hands up to her face and screamed. The tears started flowing.

"Fuck you!" I turned and walked away. I was headed outside to get a taxi, Millington was leaning against a wall. I kicked the bastard in the nuts and laughed when he threw up everywhere. The taxi dropped me at home, I had just walked indoors when my phone pinged. It was a text from Sylvia, her and Frank were taking Jan home with them, she would call me in the morning.

My immediate thought was keep the bitch. Fuming at being lied to I opened a bottle of scotch, the first glass burnt my throat as I swallowed it in one go. I drank more scotch as I slumped into the armchair, I couldn't believe that Jan had lied to me. The fact she was so convincing made it worse, I wondered if this was the first time she cheated.

I woke in the morning with a hangover from hell. I was still dressed in my suit, the almost empty bottle of scotch was on the coffee table. Feeling like shit I staggered upstairs to take a shower. I was sitting downstairs drinking coffee and munching dry toast when my phone pinged a text from Sylvia.

<em>"Are you awake, if so can I call you?"</em>

I thought about ignoring it for a while, then again Sylvia didn't deserve that, it wasn't her fault.

<em>"Yes and yes."</em> I replied.

I answered the phone on the second ring. "Hello"

"Morning Rob, it's Sylvia."

"What can I do for you, Sylvia?"

"Rob, I need to know what to do about Jan. She's here and in a right state, for what it's worth I told her it is her own stupid fault. She wants to talk to you, can we bring her over later this morning?"

I sat and thought about what to do, in the end I told Sylvia to bring Jan home in an hour or so. I was going to put away the half empty scotch bottle, I decided to leave it out to indicate to Jan how pissed off and upset I was. My normal scotch intake is one small glass on rare occasions.

Jan charged into the house and went to hug me, I put my hands up to stop her. "No way, sit down and don't touch me."

Jan burst into tears as she sat on the sofa, Sylvia sat with Jan and tried to calm her down. Frank nodded for me to follow him, and we ended up in the back garden.

"I'm not going to say I know how you feel, because I don't. I can only imagine what's going through your mind right now, Rob. All I can do is offer some advice. I overheard them talking last night. Jan is full of regret about what happened."

"She lied to me, Frank. The bitch lied to me, for fuck sake!"

"I know, trust me Sylvia put her straight about that last night. From what I overheard, Millington plied her with drink. Not so much that she was legless drunk, but enough for her to fall for his shit. Jan also said it was the biggest mistake she has ever made, she hates herself for what she's done."

"I fucking hate her for what she's done as well. What would you do, Frank? What would you do, if you were in my shoes?"

"I'd probably be the same as you mate, not knowing if I want to talk to her or what I wanted to do about it. Talk to Jan, hear her out before you decide what to do." Frank was pleading Jan's case, I still wasn't sure what to do.

Frank and Sylvia left after a short while. Jan turned to look at me, her eyes red through crying.

"Please Rob, can we at least talk?"

"Not right now, Jan." I replied, shaking my head. "Go take a shower and get changed, then do whatever you want to do, but please stay away from me. I need time to think, I'll go and cut the grass."

"Shall I cook dinner?" Jan asked.

"If you want to, if not I'll go out later when I am hungry." I turned and headed outside. I said I was going to think, I struggled with what to do. The two big questions were did I want to throw away the last 28 years? Would I be better off with or without Jan? Fuck why did she have to do this?

As I put the lawnmower away I saw Jan moving around in the kitchen. As a way of staying clear of Jan, I went to clean my car. Jan called out that dinner was ready as I finished polishing my car. We sat and ate in silence, afterwards I went and sat in the lounge. Normally I helped clear away after dinner, Jan knew she would be doing it on her own today. Jan joined me in the lounge a short while later, she tried to smile at me as she sat down.

"I'm going out for a walk. Make sure the bed is made up in the spare room, you can sleep in there for now." I grabbed my keys and coat, leaving before Jan could reply. I walked around for what seemed like hours, in fact it was probably less than an hour. The local pub/restaurant was open, I ducked inside to have a beer. I stood with my beer and watched some football match on the large screen TV. I looked around at the people in the bar, luckily there was nobody there that I considered a friend. Several beers later I left for home, I walked round the neighbourhood until it started to get dark.
<hr pg="2" />As I stepped indoors Jan was texting on her phone. "Boyfriend can't leave you alone?" I asked, bitterly.

"No, that was Sylvia asking if I was okay." I hung my coat up and kicked off my shoes. "Please Rob, can we at least talk?" Jan was practically begging me.

"Okay. You want to talk, let's talk. I have some questions and I want answers, no lies or bullshit."

"The first question I want an answer to is why, why did you sleep with him?"

"Rob, I didn't set out to cheat on you. I knew Duncan wanted to get me into bed, I didn't want it though. That night we finished the client meeting and went to eat dinner, nothing fancy, just a meal in the hotel restaurant. Duncan made no suggestive comments, we talked about life in general. I spoke about you and he talked about his kids. After dinner we sat in the bar and talked some more, he sat on one side of the table with me opposite him. We had a few drinks and left the bar, I can only assume he brought me double measures. We got into the lift and he hugged me and suggested a drink in his room. In hindsight I should have said no, as he had been a perfect gentleman all night. I didn't see any harm in it."

I sat and stared at Jan, waiting for her to continue. I was not letting her off that easily.

"We sat talking and drinking, Duncan leant over and kissed me. I knew it was wrong, but he groped my breast. I still don't know why, but I gave in and let him feel me up. I'm sorry, Rob."

"So he got you drunk and had his way with you, is that what you are telling me?"

"Yes. If I had been sober I'm sure nothing would have happened."

"So now I guess this is where you tell me what a great lover he was, how it was a night you'll never forget?"

"If I did, it would be a lie. It's a night I will never forget for all the wrong reasons. He was shit in bed. He put a condom on and it was all over in minutes. I felt so disgusted and ashamed that I dressed and went to my room." Jan looked at me, I could see the tears welling up in her eyes.

"So was he the only one, or have there been others before him?"

"Since we started dating there have been no others. I know there shouldn't have been him, I'm sorry Rob, really I am."

"What about him? Does he think it's a one and done, or will he come back for more?"

"I told him the next morning it was never going to happen again. I was scared that if you found out you would kill him, or something stupid that got you sent to prison. That was why I lied and prayed that you would never find out. Please Rob, can we try and work this out? I'm begging you not to do anything stupid, I couldn't bear it if you went to prison."

I shrugged my shoulders and stared at Jan. "Honestly Jan, I don't know if we can work this out." I went to bed leaving her sitting alone, crying.

I didn't sleep well that night, I remembered hearing Jan come up to bed shortly after me. Lying there I thought of what my life would be like without Jan, and did I really want to throw away the last 28 years. I made my decision. What I couldn't decide was when I would choose to tell Jan, I wanted her to suffer a little longer, I was doing it in the hope she would know how I felt.

When I got dressed in the morning I saw the box in my sock drawer. It was twelve days away from Christmas, hidden amongst my socks was Jan's Christmas present. I left the house without saying goodbye to Jan, something I had never done before.

There was a call over the tannoy system for me to go to reception, I cleaned my hands and made my way out to reception. I half expected to see Jan standing there, instead Charlie Collins asked if I could take a quick look at his car. I followed Charlie outside and waited as he popped the bonnet, we both looked at the engine.

"What's the problem, Charlie?" I asked.

"Nothing wrong with the car, Rob. I understand you had a disagreement with one of my directors on Saturday night, want to tell me about it?"

I made like I was checking something as I gave Charlie the short version of what happened at the party.

"Leave it with me Rob. Don't be too hard on Jan, tell her I said I will talk to her tomorrow when she comes into the office." Charlie closed the bonnet and shook my hand. Obviously Jan had taken the day off work.

I went back to work, the service manager asked me if there was a problem with Charlie's car.

"Nah, just a loose wire. It's all sorted now."

Jan was cooking dinner when I arrived home. I asked about her day off.

"I didn't feel like going in. I didn't want to see him."

"I have no idea what's going to happen, but Charlie called in to see me this morning. That's how I know you took the day off."

Jan turned and looked at me. "What did he say?"

"Not much, he asked me what happened on Saturday. I told him what happened, and why. He said leave it with him. He said he will talk to you tomorrow."

I got changed and sat down to dinner, it was quiet. I wanted to talk to Jan after dinner, I think she was too nervous to start a conversation. Jan cleared the plates and loaded the dishwasher.

"Jan, come and sit down, we need to talk." I could tell by the look on her face, those last four words put the fear of God into her.

"I have decided we can try and work past this. Before you say anything I want to state right now, if anything like this happens again, we are done, no second chances. There are also some conditions I want you to hear. You will never travel for work again, I don't give a shit who asks you. If that prick makes things difficult for you, go to Charlie and report him. Agreed?"

Jan agreed and promised me nothing like this would ever happen again. I know some people will say I should have thrown her out, maybe I should have, maybe not. Everyone reacts differently to situations, I decided my life would be better with Jan in it. I also let Jan know that although she was forgiven, forgetting it would take a lot longer.

We had just sat down in the lounge when the doorbell rang, it was Charlie Collins.

"Hello Mr Collins." Jan was clearly shocked to see him at the door.

Good evening Jan, Rob. May I have a few minutes of your time?" I gestured for Charlie to sit down.

"With regard to the altercation on Saturday night, I felt it would be better if I spoke to Jan away from the office." I saw the colour drain from Jan's face, I think, like me she was expecting to be fired. "Duncan Millington no longer works for Collins and Sons, he was dismissed earlier today. Jan you will have to deal with me on a daily basis until I can employ his replacement." Jan nodded and smiled.

"How did he take being fired?" I asked Charlie.

"Not very well I'm afraid, like Jan he took the day off as well. I visited him at home, unfortunately when I had to explain why, his wife was sitting beside him. From the way she reacted I have a feeling this wasn't the first time he has done something like this. His wife demanded he pack his bags and leave, immediately." I smiled when I heard the news. "I also told him if he pressed charges against you, I would pay for the best lawyer I could get to defend you."

"Thank you." Jan replied for both of us.

"I'll leave you two alone. I'm sure you have things to discuss. I'll see you in the morning, Jan. Nice to see you again, Rob." I shook Charlie's hand and showed him to the door.

Jan moved back into the bedroom that night, it was a few days before we had sex. Frank sent me a text, he was glad we seemed to have sorted things out. I have no idea what Sylvia said to Jan when they talked at work. My revenge on Millington was slight, I got to break his nose, bruise his stomach and kick him in the nuts. The rest of it was down to Charlie. We heard through the grapevine Millington's wife divorced him, given she was rich in her own right, I doubt she suffered. Personally I felt sorry for his kids.

Charlie employed Gerald Walters to replace Millington. Gerald was a church going Christian and happily married. The first time I met him I knew we wouldn't be having the same trouble. We still attend Jan's company events, along with Sylvia and Frank. We don't talk about what happened. I know Sylvia helped Jan that night, but she also told her it was her own stupid fault. Since then I have had no reason to think Jan has done anything like it again, apart from me or Frank, she never dances with any other men.

Frank did ask me if I was happy with the decision I made regarding me and Jan?

"Yes, I am. At the time I had some doubts, but not anymore."
