There is not a lot of sex and no BTB in this story. There is, however, lots of military (specifically US Army) stuff. Some readers will like it, others, most assuredly, will not.

A true Loving Wife is involved.

Just in case the anachronism police are watching, this took place before cell phones.

This story is fiction. The bad conduct involved is NOT indicative of members of the US Army I knew and served proudly in. Thank you all for your service.

*****

I am United States Army Sergeant First Class (SFC) Martin Halperen. My Wife's name is Judith.

It was a nice, warm Friday evening. I had just taken a bite of my Kobe steak when I looked toward the club's dining room entrance. A smiling Major (Maj) Timothy J. Halford and someone I assumed was Mrs. Halford, had just walked in. Our eyes locked on each other and Maj Halford's smile immediately disappeared. The couple was being shown to their table, but the Major put his hand on the woman's arm and led her out of the dining room.

I finished chewing, swallowed, and leaned over and quietly spoke to Judith. She looked toward the entrance, smiled, and patted my hand.

We had been in Japan for six weeks. That was only the third time we had been there for dinner. I was assigned to the United States Army, Japan (USARJ) Protocol Office. Judith was a civilian employee and worked at the Sagami Depot a short distance from Camp Zama where I worked. We lived at the Depot so I commuted every day.

Judith and I met 14 years ago at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Maryland. I was a young soldier and she was the wife of a Second Lieutenant. We met at the education center where we were both taking evening classes on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. I always arrived early because it was easier for me to study in the empty classroom than in the barracks.

She and I had no relationship; we had never even spoken. She was just another face in the classroom; a pretty face, but nevertheless, just a face. One Monday evening, I entered the classroom to find her already there. She was standing, looking out the window and I could hear her crying. Not knowing what else to do, I sat in a seat as far from her as I could get and opened my textbook. After about ten minutes of her continued sobbing and crying, I closed the book, stood and went to her.

"Excuse me, ma'am? Are you okay?"

Continuing to cry, she nodded her head. I started to return to my seat, but hesitated and just stood there, helpless. Now that I had approached her, I felt committed and couldn't leave. After a few more minutes, other students started dribbling in. "Excuse me, again. Would you like to go outside?" She didn't respond so I asked her again. She looked at me then around the room and nodded. She started out. I picked up the stack of stuff on the window sill in front of her, assuming it belonged to her and followed her. Down the hall from the classroom was a lounge area with tables, chairs, and vending machines. I indicated she should sit. She did.

"Do you drink coffee?" I asked.

"Yes,"

"Black?"

"Cream, please."

I brought each of us a cup from one of the machines. I set both cups on the table then sat opposite her. We sat in silence for a couple of minutes before, together, we lifted the paper cups and sipped.

"This is horrible." She blurted out.

"God! I agree." We both laughed at how bad it was. Things got a bit lighter after that. We never made it to class that evening. We sat and talked and about fifteen minutes into our conversation, she was discussing our homework assignment, which she didn't have. Then she stopped, looked away and said.

"My husband is cheating on me."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes."

"How do you know?"

"I saw them. In my home. In my bed. I forgot my books for tonight so I stopped by our apartment to get them. I walked in and there they were."

"Did they see you?"

"Yes."

"What are you going to do?"

"I don't know."

We talked until midnight when the security staff asked us to leave so we went to a 24 hour diner down the highway. We talked the rest of the night enjoying the good coffee of the diner. We learned a lot about each other, but it always came back to her husband's cheating.

When morning came and the breakfast crowd started coming in, she realized that she was going to have to go home to face her husband and I was going to have to go on with my life. We stood, hugged, and said goodbye.

I went to the barracks, used the office phone to call my boss and tell him that I was going to be late for work, then showered, shaved, got in my uniform and went to work; well, went to the office at any rate. I never accomplished any work. It was close to lunchtime when I realized that I didn't know her name.

Wednesday was no better. My day was spent like the day before ... thinking about the lady I had spent Monday night with and wondering if she would be in class that evening.

I showed up at class even earlier then I normally did, but she didn't show up. She didn't on Friday, either.

That weekend I did what I normally did on weekends. Slept a lot on Saturday and studied on Sunday. The Education Center on post worked closely with the local University to provide soldiers with most of what they required to earn degrees. I figured that if I applied myself and combined classroom instruction with correspondence courses, I would have my degree in two more years. I would be the first in my family to achieve that goal.

Three weeks went by and the lady was forgotten. That particular course was completed and I started another. The new one was on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. As usual I was first to arrive and was looking through my textbook. I felt a tap on my shoulder. It was her. I jumped up and impulsively hugged her. She hugged me back.

"Before we do anything else." I said. "Tell me your name."

She laughed. "I was going to say the same thing. It's Judith Wright. Yours?"

"Martin Halperen."

"I'm not in this class, so I can't stay. Can you meet me after your class so we can chat?"

"I can do better than that." As I gathered my stuff and stood. "How've you been?" I asked as we walked out of the classroom.

"I've managed."

"Is everything okay?"

"If you consider my moving into my own apartment and filing for divorce okay, than I'm okay."

We were back in the lounge area. "I assume you don't want any coffee."

She laughed. "God no. It's horrible." I missed my first class because Judith and I spent the evening talking again. I learned that her husband had spent several days begging for forgiveness and trying to convince her that he had a one time lapse in judgement. She told him that she had a 'zero tolerance' for cheating and that their marriage was over.

I also learned that she worked in the Logistics Office at headquarters. She had her Bachelor's Degree, but was working on her Master's.

We started spending more and more time together and on the day that her divorce was final, we had sex for the first time. We were both relatively inexperienced in the field of lovemaking. I had only slept with two other women. Judith had married her first love and sex partner.

It wasn't too long after our first time, that I moved out of the barracks and into her apartment. A year later, we were married.

As the years went by, we found ourselves stationed in Germany, Vermont, Hawaii, and Utah before being sent to Japan. At each duty station we had, Judith was fortunate to find employment with the Army in Logistics. I was regularly promoted as I met the requirements for the next higher grade. It was the same with Judith on the civilian side. She received her Master's while we were in Hawaii and continued working. Like me, she was promoted as openings became available. Normally, in the military, the family goes where the service member is stationed, but in our case, Judith was needed in Utah so the Army found a position for me so I was able to accompany her. The same thing happened in Japan. The position of Deputy Director of Sagami Depot opened and she was asked to take it. She accepted and the Army found a position for me so we were able, once again, to be stationed together.

When we first arrived in Japan, we were introduced to the Protocol staff and were warmly welcomed. We were also warmly welcomed by the staff at the Depot where Judith was to work. We were eligible for living quarters both at the Depot and Camp Zama. We chose the Depot.

One of the first things we had to do was to get drivers licenses and cars. The written part of the process was no challenge, but the driving part was interesting considering, like the British, Australians, and others, the Japanese drove on the opposite side of the road; and that took some getting used to. Judith could pretty much walk everywhere she had to go because she both lived and worked at the Depot, but until I received my license, I would be driven to and from work by one of the Japanese drivers in the Protocol Office. Not a bad deal, I thought, having your own car and driver. That lasted less than two weeks, however, because I was able to pass both the written and driving tests on my first attempt. Judith did likewise, only it took her an additional week to be tested because of her working hours.

One of the first people I met in USARJ was Major (Maj) Timothy J. Halford. Maj Halford was the Chief of the plans Office for USARJ. My first impression of him was that he was a total asshole. He felt like he could order any enlisted person around as if they worked for him. I let him know in no uncertain terms that my boss was the Commanding General of USARJ, a Two Star General, not a Major. He tried to impress upon me that he was an officer while I was a lowly enlisted man and as far as he was concerned, that was lower than whale shit.

Whenever any communication between us was required, Maj Halford sent word that he expected me to appear in person. I always seemed to be too busy so sent my civilian secretary.

That happened several times before he stormed into my office demanding that I personally come when beckoned and not send some lowly secretary.

"I don't want to appear disrespectful, Major, but, like you, I have a job to do. That job is to do what the Commanding General asks; not what you demand. That means I am not at your beck and call; I am at his. If, at any time, you feel my job performance is lacking, I suggest you inform him and if he agrees with you, I'm sure he will take appropriate action. Until then, if you require anything from this office, I suggest you put it in writing like everybody else. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a meeting with the General."

With that, I picked up a note pad and left him red faced and fuming.

There was one other 'face to face' we had. Just two days after that, I was walking down the hall when I heard my name.

"Halperen!" I continued walking. "Halperen! I'm talking to you."

I stopped, turned, and looked at Maj Halford. It's Sergeant First Class Halperen." And continued walking.

"Halperen, you enlisted piece of shit; come back here."

I kept walking and walked directly into the office of my boss. It took me less than five minutes to discuss my history with Maj. Halford, and having been there such a short time, had no idea how the general was going to react. After all, Maj Halford was an officer and, obviously better known to the General than I.

"Ask Maj Halford to see me, please." The general told his Executive Officer.

The General and I talked about the upcoming visit of a Senatorial Committee until Maj Halford was escorted into the office. "Sergeant First Class Halperen is a member of my staff. He works for me. More importantly, he is a Senior Non-commissioned Officer in the United States Army and will be treated with the respect he has earned. I recommend you not lose sight of any of those things. Am I clear?"

"Yes sir."

"You're dismissed." Maj Halford saluted, did an about face, and left. "I think that about covers Maj Halford." Said the General with a grin. "He's been here about a year and has been pretty full of himself. For some reason he has a 'hardon' against enlisted folks. Senior NCO's in particular. Just do your job, stay away from him, and don't do anything to antagonize him or I'll have your ass. Are we clear on that?"

"Yes, sir and thank you." I returned to my office and work.

A Command Sergeant Major (CSM) is the senior enlisted advisor to the commander. I had spent enough time with the USARJ Sergeant Major to feel that he was both smart and savvy. My job brought us together at least once every day so I was not surprised later that day when my secretary told me the CSM wanted to see me.

CSM William C. (Bill) Miller was from Chicago and he loved his Chicago 'Cubbies'. "Have a seat." I sat. "I understand you and Maj Halford have a problem with each other."

"It appears that way."

"Well, let me give you a word of advice. Stay away from him. He doesn't like you, or me, or any other NCO and he will shit in your mess kit if you give him half a chance."

"I'll try to avoid him, but our paths are bound to cross and I won't take any shit from him ... officer or not. If he has a problem with how I do my job, that's one thing; but if he has a problem with me because I'm Martin Halperen, that's something else."

CSM Miller rose, crossed to his office door, closed it and returned to sit at his desk. "If you breathe one word of what I'm going to tell you, Sgt Halperen, Maj Halford will be the least of your worries. I'll come down on you so fucking hard you'll think that a tank fell on you. Do you understand me?"

"Yes, Sergeant Major."

"Good. Three years ago, Halford was a Captain and commanded the Garrison at Fort Rucker, Alabama. One evening his wife came home and found him boinking some young lady in their bed. She left and went to the NCO Club. She ended up being gangbanged by four NCO's none of whom knew who she was at the time. She had it filmed and gave a copy to her husband."

"Is that the truth, or just something someone made up?"

"It's the truth. One of the men involved was my Motor Sergeant when I was at Fort Gordon. He had gone to the NCO (Non-commissioned Officers) Club for a drink and was sitting at the bar with another Sergeant when this young lady walked up to them. She asked if either of them were married and they said no. Then she asked if they were horny. They both said that they stayed horny. Then she asked if they wanted to fuck her. My Motor Sergeant told her that neither of them had ever turned down a piece of ass in their lives.

"She went on to tell them that she was theirs for the night on three conditions. First that they get three more unmarried men to join them, second, that they film it and, third, the men wear rubbers. My Motor Sergeant lived in the BEQ (Bachelor Enlisted Quarters) and he was sure there were more guys there and, of course, filming it would not be a problem. He further assured her that rubbers would be no problem either.

"So the three of them headed for the BEQ, and enlisted two more guys. She had wanted five, but decided that four would be okay. The reason she had wanted five she told them was that she wanted one in her pussy, mouth, ass, and each hand at the same time and she wanted her husband to see it. One of the guys pointed out that she would need a sixth person to handle the filming. She said fuck it; they would make due with four.

"That gangbang lasted all night. She claimed that she had never been fucked in the ass before that night, but apparently, she took to it like a duck to water. Each of the four fucked her pussy and ass and they all got blow jobs.

"They filmed it all and made her a copy which she apparently showed to her husband. There are at least two other copies floating around. One of them permanently resides at the BEQ at Rucker. My Motor Sergeant has the other."

"Holy shit. No wonder he hates enlisted people. Are they still married?"

"They are, indeed."

"Wow. He might be a better man than I know. I don't know that I could forgive my wife for something like that, even if I did cause her to want to do it."

"I just thought you should know. And, like I said, if you repeat it ... to anyone, even your wife ... I'll be all over you like stink on shit. Got it?"

"Yes, Sergeant Major."

"Good. Get out of my office and get to work."

"Yes, Sergeant Major. Thank you, Sergeant Major." I grinned as I backed out of his office bowing low. I thought about the story for the rest of the day. Does everybody cheat? Judith's husband cheated. Maj Halford cheated. Mrs. Halford cheated. The four NCO's though not married were still technically cheating because under Article 134 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ), you are cheating if, "At the time, the accused or the other person was married to someone else."

The next month or so went along with Maj Halford and I ignoring each other. He continued mistreating and belittling virtually all other enlisted people however, both female and male. He was heard on more than one occasion lumping all of them together as stupid, illiterate, uneducated and undeserving. He commanded no respect among the enlisted ranks.

Then came the evening when Judith and I were having dinner and the Halford's came in, saw us and left. Judith had, of course, heard about him, but being true to my promise, I never told her about Mrs. Halford's gangbang.

Just a few minutes after they left the dining room, the club manager came up to our table. He and I worked together often because protocol often required lunch or dinner for USARJ's guests and the most logical places for those meals were either the General's home or the Officer's Club. Being enlisted, I was not eligible for "O" club membership so when Maj Halford saw me having dinner there, he went immediately to the manager's office to demand to know why enlisted riffraff was allowed in the Officers Club.

The club manager spoke to us. "Mind if I join you for a minute."

"Of course not. Have a seat."

"I suppose you saw Maj and Mrs. Halford."

Judith and I looked at each other and smiled. "Yes we did." Judith said.

"I'm sure you can imagine the choice words he had for me."

"We don't know if we can or not. Why don't you enlighten us." She almost laughed as she said it.

The club manager smiled. "He stormed into my office and demanded to know why some enlisted cretin was sitting in HIS club having dinner."

"And you said?"

"I said, because his wife outranks you, Major."

We laughed openly now. "And how did he take that?"

"Other than disbelief, you mean?"

"Yes."

"He asked what I meant. I showed him your (indicating Judith) membership form and when he saw your GS (Civilian Pay Grade) Rating, he threw it on my desk and stormed out."

"That's too bad. But we have no intention of not coming because he doesn't like it."

"Of course not. You have every right to be here and I urge you to take full advantage of it. I only ask that you be judicious when you invite guests and ask them to wear civilian clothes."

"Of course. That goes without saying."

He stood to leave. "Enjoy your evening." He started to leave then turned back. "Everybody knows he is a jerk."

The next several months went by and the two of us just generally ignored each other. When we passed in the hallway we always had something to look at or read from. On those evenings when Judith and I went to the club for dinner and the Halford's were there, the staff put as much distance between us as they could.

A large part of my job involved VIP visitors to our facilities both at Camp Zama and Sagami Depot. Since Judith was the Deputy Director at the depot, she often led the tours of that facility.

I was generally in the MP (Military Police) escort vehicle at the head of VIP convoys. Those convoys could be anywhere from two to ten vehicles, depending upon who was visiting.

I rarely joined in the walking portions of the tours, but one day I decided to join one. I had just entered the building this particular tour was in and saw that they were being talked to by the chief of that building. Judith had stepped aside to allow the group to gather closer to the speaker. She was standing by herself and I started to go to her, but an SFC approached her. He put his arm around her, leaned down, and said something. She laughed then pushed him away and playfully hit him on the arm. Then I saw him hand her a piece of paper, which she immediately put in her pocket ... well, it didn't actually make it into her pocket, but fell to the floor as she realized the speaker had finished and the group seemed to be waiting for her. She went to them and continued to lead them on their tour. I walked over, picked up the piece of paper and walked out.

Before getting back into the escort car, I read what was on it. "Friday at 8". I had no idea what that meant; but I did know that no one should be acting that familiar with my wife; and being allowed by her to get by with it. I stayed in the car for the rest of tour. Just as the group was concluding its visit and getting in the four vehicles for the convoy back to Camp Zama, the SFC walked by my vehicle. The name on his nameplate said Barton and I would swear that he sneered at me as he walked by.

After escorting the group of visitors to their VIP Quarters, my driver took me back to the Headquarters building where my office was located. I went immediately to CSM Miller's office. He was talking to somebody so I had to wait. He looked at me and spoke. "Who shot your dog?"

"What?"

"The look on your face tells me that something is wrong in your world."

"Do you know a SFC Barton?"

"I know one, but there might be more than one. Why?"

I told him what I had seen and showed him the note.

"Sit down." As I did, he reached for his phone and dialed. "Sgt Hammond, please. This is Command Sergeant Major Miller." There was a pause while he waited for Sgt Hammond, then he spoke. "Why wasn't I told SFC Barton was here?" Pause while Hammond spoke. "What's his full name?" Another pause. "Okay, but from now on I want to see ALL Senior NCO's regardless of their status." He hung up his phone. "I know this one. Daryl M. Barton. Sgt Hammond just told me that he and a SSG (Staff Sergeant) Higgins are at the Depot for a three month special project then they goe back to Utah."

"Utah?" I asked.

"Yeah. Tooele Depot."

"How long has he been there? Do you know?"

"No idea. Why?"

"We were there just before coming here, so he might have been there while we were and depending upon what his job was, Judith might have known him. But why didn't I know him? It's relatively small so I should have known all the Senior NCO's."

"Uh ... I need to tell you that he was one of the four in Vicky Halford's gangbang."

"Really? Fuck. Small world, isn't it?"

"Uh huh."

"I wonder if the Halford's know he's here?"

"No way of knowing. It's not our concern anyway."

"That's true. But he treated my wife with a familiarity that I don't care for ... and she let him."

"You say he spoke to her then gave her the note?"

"That's right."

"I wonder why he didn't just tell her what was on it?"

"Maybe he did. Maybe the note was just a reminder. But a reminder of what?"

"You could always ask her."

"Yeah. Yeah, I could. But will I?"

We talked for a short time before he had to go to a meeting. I went to my office, sat at my desk, and had all sorts of scenarios storming through my mind. I had never considered the possibility that Judith would cheat, but of all of those possibilities swirling around in my mind, that was the one that presented itself most often.

I admit that it was grossly unfair of me in that there was absolutely no real evidence and not even much circumstantial evidence; but there was a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach. I remember when she and I met and her first husband had cheated. The disappointment, hurt, and heartbreak she felt was real and to think that she would put someone else ... specifically me ... through those same feelings was almost unthinkable; but still ...

At home that night, I asked her about her day. "Same stuff. We are ahead of schedule in tank rebuilds thanks to some help we've gotten from Utah."

"What kind of help?"

"Last month they sent us two guys who developed some short cuts in the disassembly process and it speeds things up."

"That's good. Did you know these guys when we were there?"

"Yeah. We worked on a couple of projects together."

So it went. I didn't want to ask too many questions ... yet.

On Thursday at dinner, I asked how she would feel about going to the club the next night.

"I can't tomorrow. There's something I have to take care of."

I didn't sleep too well that night and didn't accomplish much the next day. I wanted to talk to CSM Miller, but he was gone for the weekend.

At home that evening, we had dinner. Judith ate pretty well. I didn't.

At 6:30 she was in the shower. Afterward, I watched her brushing her hair and putting on her makeup. Nothing appeared different. She did it the same way she had done it for years. She didn't seem nervous or excited.

At 7:45 she kissed me good bye and left. At 7:50 I was in my car. Ten minutes later, I was sitting outside the BEQ. Judith's car was there. I took a deep breath, got out of my car and entered the building.

Music was coming from someplace. I followed it down the hall. I came to the room it was coming from and tried the door. It opened. I looked in to see two guys playing cards. They looked up. "Sorry. Wrong room." I said.

"It's upstairs." Said one of the guys.

"What is?"

"The party. That's what you're looking for, isn't it?"

"Yeah. Thanks."

I didn't know whether to run or walk ... or go home. I chose to walk up the stairs; but I did it slowly. I made it to the second floor and started slowly down the hall. I hadn't gone far when I heard grunting. I stopped and listened. More grunting then a low whimpering. I slowly twisted the handle and eased the door open.

He was fucking her doggy style. He slapped her ass every time he rammed his dick into her and I could hear both of them grunting with every slap and thrust. I felt the bile rising into my throat and hurried down the hall to get out of there. I had come up a set of stairs at one end of the building and I found myself rushing down the hall at the other end of the building. As I passed the last room just before starting down the stairs, I heard a familiar voice.

"And if you ever touch me like you did yesterday, I'll have your ass. Do you understand me Sergeant?"

"Yes, ma'am."

"I should have castrated you right there in front of everybody. It would have served you right. You're a disgrace to that uniform."

"Yes ma'am."

"I want both of you off my depot by noon tomorrow. Is that understood?"

"Yes ma'am."

Just then the door flew open and Judith ran right into me almost knocking me down.

"Oops, Sorry." Then she recognized me. "Oh my God, what are you doing here?" She stammered.

"Listening to you give someone a piece of your mind."

"Miserable pieces of shit. Both of them."

"Both of them?" By now we had started down the steps.

"Yeah. Sgt Barton and his buddy Sgt Higgins ."

"What did they do?"

"The first couple of weeks they were here, they started sniffing around me even though they knew I was married. I thought I had nipped that in the bud, but yesterday that sleezeball, Barton, put his hands on me while I was showing some VIP's around. I couldn't reprimand him in front of them. For the past week I've heard they've been talking about some woman they know at Zama and how they were going to get her to come out here so they could have sex with her. They set it up for tonight and tried one last time yesterday to get me to join them. I came thinking it would be a perfect opportunity to chew their asses out and embarrass them in front of other NCO's." She stopped and grabbed my arm. "What are you doing here?"

"I saw ... wait a minute. What room is Higgins in?"

"Down the hall from Barton. Why?"

"I saw him ... aw, shit. If that wasn't you ... Come on." I grabbed her hand and drug her back upstairs. We ran down the hall. I opened the door not trying to be quiet this time. The man on the bed had finished and the woman was just lying there staring blankly at the ceiling. Judith rushed past me, grabbed a blanket and covered her. I looked at Higgins. "Get dressed."

"Mrs. Halford. Are you okay?" Asked Judith. "Mrs. Halford? Martin, look at her. She's been drugged."

"I'll call the MP's and Medics." I said as I headed to the phone downstairs.

Fifteen minutes later, Vicky Halford was on her way to Camp Zama Hospital, Higgins was in handcuffs and I was on my way to Maj Halford's Quarters.

I rang his doorbell. He opened the door and just looked at me. "Your wife should be at the hospital by now, come with me and I'll drive."

"What?"

"Get in the car and I'll explain on the way." I started for my car not giving him a chance to ask questions. But he started anyway. By the time we arrived at the hospital I had given him a brief rundown on what had happened.

Judith was waiting for us at the door. She grabbed his arm. "I'll take you to her." She led him away. We sat in the lobby for two hours before a member of the medical team came out and told us she was resting, but had, most assuredly, been drugged. While we waited, I explained to Judith why I had been at the BEQ. "So you actually thought I would cheat?" She asked. I saw her eyes well up with tears.

I felt very small. "I am so sorry." I pulled her into my arms and held her close. "I will never make that mistake again."

She punched my arm. "You better not. Asshole."

We went home. There was an MP Car waiting for us and we spent the next hour answering questions.

The next morning was Saturday. Judith was in her bosses' office explaining what happened and I was in the General's office doing likewise.

On Monday, I walked in my office at 6:30 as usual. At 6:35, I was sitting at my desk and someone knocked on my door. "Come in."

The door opened and Major Timothy J. Halford stood there. "Do you have a minute Sgt Halperen?"

I stood. "Yes, sir. Come in."

"May I sit."

"By all means." We both did.

"It's been a tough weekend."

"Yes, sir."

"My wife, Vicky, is having trouble coping with what happened."

"I can understand why."

"Both of those guys are scumbags. Vicky knew one of them from before and when he found out she was here, they both started pestering her. She was afraid to tell me about it." He paused and looked over my shoulder out my window. Then he looked directly at me. "God only knows what might have happened if you and your wife hadn't stopped it when you did. I need to ... no, I WANT to thank you both."

"Not necessary, sir. We are both thankful that we were there."

"Well," He said as he stood. I stood as well. "Thank you, again." As he reached out his hand. Mine went out to his and we shook.

The Halford's went back to the states for therapy for her. They returned three months later. They could have stayed and been reassigned, but they liked Japan and wanted to complete their tour of duty.

Barton had provided the drugs Higgins used. They admitted that they had both planned on having sex with her in the event Barton was unable to convince Judith to join them. Both he and Higgins were sent back to the states also ... to serve very lengthy sentences in the Federal Prison at Fort Leavenworth.

Judith and I were sitting in the club. I had just taken a bite of my Kobe steak when I looked toward the club's dining room entrance. Major Timothy J. Halford and his wife were just entering. Our eyes locked. He nudged his wife who looked in our direction. They walked toward our table.

"May we join you?" He asked.
