don't know why they go to that much trouble when they can just write their own... unless they're using AI to edit and pad it

Well, I suppose for some it's easier to edit something than to come up with the idea on their own.
I mean there's plenty of free stuff posted at literotica et al, that would be improved with some editing. Not trying to be too harsh to those authors, it's simply self evident.
Heck, there's plenty of authors at Amazon that need a good editor.

Since Duffy has been "allegedly" plagiarizing & editing for profit for a long time, I doubt it started with AI.
But I'm sure it now uses AI.
To my thinking the saddest part of this theft of work is that I don't believe it even has to be theft!
Most of the works this author is working with do not contain the language that states you can only selectively quote sections unless you have the author's permission. Therefore 'I believe' as long as you cite the source for the starting material - you are good.
Give credit where credit is due, and then take credit for the work you contributed - especially when you improve upon and double + it.
But that's not what this author does - claiming the entire creation as their own.

These are second editions. The first editions are in the first post and they were plagiarized from BBCXXX's "My Best Business Trip Yet".
In the first edition, the first book is chapters 1 & 2, the second chapters 3 & 4. I assume the same applies to the second edition.
If true, again she's expanded the word count significantly in these second editions. BBCXX has 19.6K words in the first four chapters. Both 2nd ed books come in at 53.2 K words.

the increase word count is really weird. Using AI to alter sentences and expand the story? Could scrape the story text I suppose and use the compare feature in notepad++ to see where the differences are between the three versions. (BBCXXX, SD 1st Ed, SD 2nd Ed)

Yeah, something has definitely been done with the latest work by her vs the original, and all the other pen names I suspect this author/group uses.
Previously, they typically changed character names, which is easy with a global search and replace function, which is why it was so easy to find the original work that was copied.
Now it's a lot harder to find a match.
In the first book, there are three paragraphs tacked on at the start compared to the original.
The first line in the 1st edition is the following:
"I found myself once again on an extended business trip"
BBCXXX's version starts with essentially the same sentence:
"I was traveling on yet another extended business trip away from home"
That phrase is the first line on the 4th paragraph of the second edition.
I think AI is a likely explanation. I haven't played with any of them to know how you could take an existing story and have it expand it in a way that these stories have been.
I've attached BBCXXX's and the first edition, if you want to do any cipherin' on the works.

Well here's a bit Stormbringer had at his blog about working with Grok.
It certainly seems that such an AI could do what we observe with Duffy's new work.

Not sure how many chapters of the original this includes, since the version on literotica is 233K words, and the Amazon page says the "print length" is 164 pages.
