[Julien Blacke] Velvet Bloodline – A Cinematic Erotic VN (Original Story)

Hey all,
I’ve started polishing the character models before Scene 7, and Sophie is the first one to get a refresh.
Right now the changes are mostly physical (face shape, proportions, eyes, a bit of skin tweaking). The bigger shader/makeup/detail pass will come next.

This is still the same Sophie, just refined to read better emotionally in close-ups and future scenes.

Which one do you prefer — the old version or the new variant?
Curious what everyone thinks before I start finalizing her look for the upcoming renders.
Judging by the filename I assume the top image is the original, and the second image the redone version?
So that would be the shorter of the two where they are shown side by side?

I think the changes are too subtle in these images to have a clear preference for one or the other.
And it may be just my imagination, but in the second image it seems her irises are slightly larger.
Based solely on this I would prefer the second, version 2 image. Makes her eyes just that bit more appealing.

Also, what's with the white top-edge in images 14 to 20 in the Halloween post? Accident?

Yes, you’re right — the top one is the original, and the shorter one is the new version. The difference is intentional, of course. I wanted to make her physically a bit smaller to create a contrast with how she’ll evolve later — a subtle “small body versus great inner strength” kind of symbolism.

Since she’s one of the main characters, I have big plans for her arc. Everything in the story is meant to have meaning — or at least, I’m trying to give each action and detail a purpose that feels realistic and connected.

As I mentioned, I try to make every change in a subtle way, so nothing disturbs the visual continuity, the story, or the flow of the scene. It’s all about gradual evolution, not sudden redesigns.

Regarding the eyes — in the new version I actually changed the eye asset entirely, switching to one that looks more realistic and expressive, so the gaze feels more natural and lifelike in my opinion.

And shamefully, I’ll admit — that white edge you noticed was a mistake from Photoshop when I added the text. It was late, and honestly, I didn’t even notice it until you pointed it out. Thanks again for catching that and, as always, for your sharp attention to detail.

I’ll come back with the polished and corrected images as soon as possible.

Uploaded the clean, no-text versions for now while I fix the text variants.
There was a small issue with the top edge in the previous uploads — that came from Photoshop when I added the dialogue overlays (late-night editing and attention don’t always mix 😅).

These clean renders should give a better view of the composition until I come back with the polished and corrected text versions.

Velvet Bloodline – Scene 6: The Watchers Part 8 Update
  • 3D
  • Hi boys and girls,

The next update for Scene 6 – The Watchers will be released tomorrow on Patreon and Ko-fi!

In this part, Jenny fully gives herself to Lucas — the control, the tension, all dissolve into something raw and intimate.

Here’s some teasers from Part 8 (renders 85–99).

The story still continues — total render count will reach around 120-130 before this scene wraps up.

How do you feel about Jenny’s character and model so far? I’d love to hear your thoughts.

    Hey everyone,

I’ve been posting Velvet Bloodline across a few platforms for a while now, and as some of you probably noticed, I really try to be the kind of creator who stays close to the audience — listening, learning, and improving.

That said, feedback here has been… well, almost non-existent lately — except for a few I can already call loyal, and I really appreciate them for sticking around and sharing their thoughts. . Good or bad, I’ll take either! 😄 I just hope this time I’ll get more than one reply.

So, I wanted to ask honestly — what do you think about the story so far? The writing style, the pacing, the models, the overall format? Do you have any suggestions, ideas for improvement, or even critiques?

I know my writing tends to lean a bit heavy at times, as some of you mentioned — that’s actually intentional. I wanted the story to feel a little different from most visual novels around here. The text is purposely written that way, with the visuals serving as a complement to the story rather than the other way around., but I’m curious if it still works for you, or if it feels too much compared to other projects you’ve read here.

I’d really appreciate any opinion — even a short one helps a lot.

Thanks in advance for taking a minute to share your thoughts.

the posts are a little bit messy with different stuff mixed, hard to read it and get an opinion. could you post some zip ?

    Hey! 😊

You can actually find each scene as its own post — Scene 1 full release is on page 1, Scene 2 full release on page 2, and Scene 3 + 3.5 on page 3. They’re not mixed together, just standalone posts for each scene so it’s easier to follow the story.

But if you feel a ZIP version would make navigation simpler, I can absolutely upload one soon. 👍

    Thanks for the feedback

Velvet Bloodline – Scene 1 to 3.5 ZIP Release
  • 3D
  • I’ve just uploaded a ZIP package containing Scenes 1 to 3.5 for those who prefer following the story in order without browsing through separate posts.

Each scene is still available individually on the thread too:

    • Scene 1 full release → page 1
    • Scene 2 full release → page 2
    • Scene 3 + 3.5 full release → page 3

They’re not mixed — each one is standalone and keeps the original release format.
Still, if this ZIP format makes it easier for you to follow the flow, I’ll keep doing it for future chapters too.

As always, thanks for reading, commenting, or even just checking out the project — every bit of feedback keeps it alive.

    thanks for the zip.
story's not bad, but it's really hard to read because of your balloons.
transparency slow down the reading, and they are too verbose. By using the appropriate balloons, you shouldn’t have to say who's speaking, nor to describe if they are thinking or speaking.
Then, if your words are well chosen, and if the graphic gestures and expressions are appropriate, you shouldn't have to describe their mood and way to speak in the balloon. If you need to add some informations about the dialogue consequences, you'd better put it in a off frame used for caption or narration.

    Hi,

Thanks for the detailed feedback and for the references — really appreciated!
This kind of speech bubble format is actually already in the plan for the next scenes. I’ll be considering it very seriously starting around Scene 8 (most likely), though I’ll need to run a few tests first to see how it fits stylistically and how I can make the transition smooth.

I’ve already started going in this direction with Scene 4. In renders posted from Scene 6, you may notice some differences and small adjustments toward that cleaner layout.

As for the mood/thought/speech indicators — you’re absolutely right from a storytelling perspective. I kept them because Velvet Bloodline leans a bit more on the narrative side than a typical VN, and I’m still working toward translating every emotional nuance visually. Sometimes, I can’t yet capture a character’s intended tone purely through expressions or posing — so the text carries that weight for now.

But I really appreciate your input — I take every suggestion seriously, especially when it helps refine both clarity and immersion. Thanks again for the thoughtful critique, and stay close — things are evolving fast!

P.S. How do you personally prefer the color of the speech bubbles and text — full white with black text like most VNs use, or something softer and more stylized? Because I find the full-white ones a bit impersonal and out of context, almost ruining the visual atmosphere I try to build.

I’m also asking this to everyone who reads and follows the story — I’d love to know your opinions too.

Velvet Bloodline – Scene 4 · Muffled Sounds (Full Release)
  • 3D
  • Hey everyone,

Time for a new full-scene drop — Scene 4 – Muffled Sounds is now available!
It picks up right after After School and dives deeper into the mystery building behind the warmth of the house.
Soft voices, half-truths, and a few sounds best left unexplained.

As always, the scene is story-focused and cinematic — following emotion, not just action.
Thanks to everyone who’s been following since Scene 3 and 3.5 — keeping the releases close together helps the story flow the way it was meant to.

Feel free to share your thoughts, theories, or favorite moments — I’m always reading and adjusting with your feedback in mind.

Velvet Bloodline – Scene 6: The Watchers (Finale Released!)
  • 3D
  • Scene 6 “The Watchers” has officially come to an end.

What started as a quiet night of temptation turned into something much darker — secrets surfacing, strange eyes watching, and desires pushing every boundary.

Sophie and Lucas reach their breaking point, Jessica’s presence changes everything, and somewhere far away, plans are being set in motion.

This scene ended with 140 renders plus covers, making it almost 1.5× larger than the previous one. I expect the next scene to at least match this number — but as always, I aim to keep a natural rhythm between visuals and text, without falling into redundancy.

Your feedback and suggestions really help shape the flow of the story. I’ll keep them in mind moving forward, making sure to incorporate them in a subtle and fluid way.

Until now, Velvet Bloodline includes around 440 renders across six scenes — and we’re just getting started.

Velvet Bloodline — Scene 7 Preview
  • 3D
  • Hey everyone,

Here’s an early glimpse at what’s coming in Scene 7: Tears, Pain, Lust, scheduled for starting this Thursday.

In this scene, Sophie will continue slipping deeper into her overwhelming fantasies, still haunted by what almost happened in Lucas’s room.

Eva will reach a breaking point after Lucas’s cold moment in class, pushing her into a completely new emotional space.

And the narrative will push toward a major turning point — one that triggers the next phase of the plot and forces certain characters into irreversible choices.
A character may soon step out of the story entirely… and that absence will echo through everything that follows.

Who it will be — and why — will become clear soon.

Thanks for following Velvet Bloodline as it grows darker, more intense, and more mysterious.
Stay close, the shift is coming.

New Talk-Bubbles — By Jessica & Jenny (Bonus at the End!)
  • 3D
  • Hello everyone,

    Julien here!

Here’s a small standalone scene from Velvet Bloodline featuring Jessica and Jenny giving a quick “lesson” about the new visual bubble system used in the project.

The goal was to improve readability and avoid confusion between:

    • spoken dialogue
    • inner monologue
    • whispered/self-talk
    • and mood cues

Jessica and Jenny handled the demonstration in their own style — which means: playful, a bit chaotic, and absolutely not safe for a real school environment.

    Includes:
    ✔ updated bubble styles
    ✔ mood hints explanation
    ✔ internal thoughts format
    ✔ transparency + colored borders
    ✔ a small thank-you
one extra spicy render at the end for the regulars

    Enjoy the preview!

    Velvet Bloodline Rework Announcement
  • 3D
  • Hello everyone,

I’m happy to share an important update about Velvet Bloodline.

As the project evolved, the writing style, emotional pacing, and text presentation improved significantly in the newer chapters. To keep the story consistent from beginning to end, I’ve started reworking all earlier scenes (1–6).

    What’s being updated:

    • rewritten dialogues
    • improved narration
    • smoother pacing
    • better character tone
    • updated talk-bubble layout
    • stronger emotional and cinematic flow

Scene 1 is now fully reworked, and the updated text is available on my supporter platforms.
The next weeks will be dedicated to reworking Scenes 2–6 as well. In some cases, I may add new renders where needed to make transitions smoother and more cinematic — but the visual base remains the same.

The updated versions are available for supporters only.
