As usual, since its MTL, the translation quality can be a little wonky but it's getting better

I think there is a lot of nuance that is lost for people that are not from china and does not read a lot of chinese fiction. the analogies and metaphors become a lot harder to decipher when the translation isn't accurate. i do appreciate you providing us the files but at this point in time, it is really really hard to enjoy the story when you only understand 40% of whats going on. i want to like it because it seems right up my alley, but i had to give up as im missing too much of the ideas the writer is trying to present.

Honestly, Chinese erotica in the mother-son genre gave me something that Western works never have. In the West, we often see the mother portrayed as a slut or basically a porn star equivalent, which feels very unnatural.
In the Chinese version, the protagonist has to prove that his feelings aren't just a silly whim, but something he can't turn away from. When I first saw the mother slap her son after learning about his feelings, I immediately realized it was going to be an interesting read ā because the hero would have to put in a lot of effort to win her over.
And because of this, the sex scenes feel incredibly hot ā when the mother is initially against it, but eventually surrenders under the pressure of pleasure. This is exactly what I look for in stories of this genre. Western erotica very rarely delivers this. There, the mother is often the one who initiates, which I find boring. I prefer it when the man is the initiator of sex, not the other way around.

Is it really that hard to understand? Maybe Iām just used to their florid prose, metaphors, and all that, because I can follow everything just fine. I canāt argue about the translation quality though, itās pretty bad haha.
But man, only understanding 40% of whatās going on is kinda rough

Personally, I find it takes me out of the story when I have to figure out exactly what is happening and that instance is fine if it is just the rare moment but because there are so many of these instances i am constantly bogged down by the effort to decipher the sentence. For example (Mother conquest by bamboo shadow): 'She quickly grabbed the clothes on the bed and covered her chest, and scolded her with a little embarrassment: "What are you staring at all day long." I giggled and said, "Look at the fairies descending to earth."' the highlighted in red is very common throughtout the text. it makes me question exactly what words would be sufficient to express the writer's intention. yes, i understand at the basic level that the writer is trying to express beauty and etherealism, but the act to localise that prose into something easily understandable to the western audience. for example i could write, "Are you going to stare all day? What is there to look at?" and "Fairies. They came down to earth and they landed here for me to bask in.". I am not a writer, this is the best i could come up with on short notice. but the point stands if i have to pause everytime i read just to create a readable version in my own mind, it becomes tiresome to read. but if youre able to understand and enjoy it then more power to you.
