A New Kindle App is coming in June 30, 2026

To all uploaders/pirates out there amazon is cracking down yet again on June 30, 2026. They are limiting PC to Kindle even further. I recommend everyone that can scour Kindle Unlimited as much as possible before they lock it down. I may delete this thread but wanted to let everyone know. The last time this happened it took 5+ months to find a way. Hopefully it can be worked around.

The workaround last time was to use an old kindle and connect that to your PC.

Of course, when I bought one on eBay to do that I didn't know that some USB cables for phones are only charging cables and don't include the data transfer wiring. Took me a bit to find one in my multiple cables that had that feature.

OK, I just ran into this issue, and it's worse than it was before.

I tried to download a book I bought back in 2019 and epubor couldn't convert it.

Previously, it was only books published after a certain date that had this issue.

I'm charging my old kindle right now to see if I can use that to download the book.

Well this sucks.

My kindle got enough of a charge to try and download it and copy it to epubor and got the same error message.

Turns out I wasn't running the latest version of epubor, nor the latest kindle app for PC that epubor supports.

Once I upgraded both, it worked fine.

Will have to see if my old kindle will work after June.

Got an email from epubor yesterday saying they tried the new Amazon app and the interface was essentially the same as the previous PC app.

One major issue is that the downloads is that they "hide" the download folder. but they gave instructions on how to find it.

However, Amazon changed the DRM and epubor couldn't remove the DRM.

Deatails here.
