Why does he give up on the comics people want and switch to the crap people don’t ???

Because of pettiness, and now he's taking his subscribers' money for granted, thinking it's up to them to put up with his mood swings and "be glad he's 'blessing' them"with his low-effort crap, instead of being up to him to make his subscribers happy and give them their money's worth.
