Sorry for late the reply bro, yeah I'm alright. My home situation has been a more stressful than usual in the past few days (big change in the works).
So I haven't been very motivated to create new stuff recently.

And well it's a complicated situation. Ultimately it will be for the better. Just a lot of mixed emotions involved. It's a long story but for the last 12 years my family and I have been caring for my grandmother with dementia. The past 4 years the disease has progressed exponentially and has reached the point that we can no longer handle it anymore.

I understand, I lost my grandparents to that disease. I hope you can overcome it, as the situation you're in is very difficult.

and I'll be alright. We've been expecting things to reach this point for awhile now. We just offically decided it was time to look for facilities while everything is still in our control.

It must be the only option left for them because this disease not only deteriorates her health but also yours.

Pretty much. Basically there are only 2 options. Either find a good facility now while we still have control over the decision or she continues living with us.
But it's clearly becoming too dangerous for her to keep living here. Over the years there have been many incidents but they're happening more and more often now. Almost daily. Soon it will inevitably lead to tragedy. Or the government will end up getting involved and take control which never turns out good for anyone.

You're right, back then we had to change the height of the door locks to prevent her from going out into the street because she almost caused a car accident at night once.

Luckily we live out in the country on a 35 acre property, she has trouble unlocking the doors and getting around in general frankly, so we don't have to worry too much about something like that. But for example just a few days ago she some how caught popcorn on fire. Idk what exactly happened but yeah.

That also happened when she wanted to prepare the food and it almost caused a disaster in the kitchen

Yeah and this wasn't the first time either. We've had quite a few kitchen incidents.
My family had already decided a week or two ago to start making arrangements but this past week as proven to us that it's the right decision.
Like right now she has a huge black eye because she fell and hit her face. She's had trouble with balance and falling for many years now. Been hospitalized twice. Luckily it hasn't resulted in severe injury. But that could change anytime.

We didn't get to that point, but we did have problems with some medications that caused side effects like rashes, and it was also difficult to feed her

Haven't had any diffculties with eating or stuff like that. Could be close to that though. This past year has really progressed rapidly though. Don't have a definite timeline yet for when things will move forward with a memory care place, but it'll be the next couple months for sure.

I understand, I hope everything goes as well as possible so that your family and your brother can rest easier knowing that your grandmother will be well taken care of.

Yeah it's pretty crazy. That's why I decided to upgrade now while I could still get a some what reasonably priced GPU. Nothing major, just getting a RTX 5070. Definitely a good upgrade from my 3060
