fake drama? or black pharaoh is out of chicks to bangSo just like that, huntress is back, so the point in killing her was?
Nah, this feels like he is walking back the idea, like he wanted to kill her off and then saw the optics, and i wish he ran out, otherwise he wouldnt have sequals of this planned, which just sounds like torturefake drama? or black pharaoh is out of chicks to bang![]()
100%, See for me, I do not mind story, it can be both, so long as it is entertaining, or at least isnt boring, the problem with Forsaken Souls is Pharaoh seems to think he is a good writer, which he just isn't, which is why I have been enjoying The Acolyte Chronicles instead, just wish it was a comic truth be told, but I do not think your going to get a seperate discussion for a a comic that isn't going to be all that long in comparison.Guys did y'all thinking the same thing with me for live madam evil disc only, I don't give a shit about FS. This is just me or BP drag this story and the thing that frustrates me is how very little sex scene now, i don't mind dragging but atleast put more sex scene not more yapping panel.. I mean for fuck sake this is porn comic not DC canon , did y'all fell the same way like me ?
While I could see the self insert part in the Acolyte Chonicles, I will say, at least The Acolyte seems like the clear defined protagonist of that story where Nyarlathotep started off and in many ways still is seeing as it is been his story, yet we are meant to want him to lose and support heroes (that I agree are incompetent) just because they are batman or the like and yet are not even likeable or even well written in FS so I don't care what happens to them. The Acolyte Chronicles is just as poorly written as Forsaken Souls imo. Both have the same major flaw - the heroes are incompetent so nothing the villains accomplish feels earned. Each main character is clearly just a self-insert for the author. Whether it's "Nyarlathotep" or "The Acolyte", they show up, effortlessly dispatch and/or corrupt the heroes and then move on to the next one. It gets boring because there are only two results - either the villain continues to win until there's no resistance left and the story ends or there's a bullshit Deus ex Machina to explain how they don't.
Having said that, I don't really care. This isn't good literature, it's not even decent. It's a porn comic and I like the art in both. As long as they each continue to feature visually appealing transformation sequences (Forsaken Souls has been a let down in this regard lately, to be fair), I'll continue to read them.

The point I was originally making is was if both are going to have story, at least make it interesting, Acolyte Chonicles at least has some Intrigue going for it being only 4 verses in, Patreons apparently have more, like his motivations, how he treats his Nightgaunts compared to Nyarlathotep, those whispers he has been hearing and the fact that in the verse from last month, he got his arm cut off.
WIth Forsaken Souls, its clear how it is going to end at this point to, it is going to be a bullshit Deus ex Machina as you said, my money given the reaction Wonder Woman had when Lex told her Bruce still loved her, it will be some bullshit power of love conquers all stuff, and everything else has be uninteresting past a certain point, with FS it was written as a slam dunk win for the "Villian" and now Pharaoh seems to be trying to bullshit his way out of it for the sake of his already announced sequels.
Even if it was a comic, I think it would still be as clear and defined who the protagonist is, but thats just me imagining how I would translate it to a comic, I have wondered why it isn't one, That and perhaps some extra scenes with Kara and Zelda in the Mass Effect Universe, but I would say it is possible for how it is to be placed onto a comic format easy, But I would say he is given the Acolyte and even more so Kara, more Characterization than FS has done for Nyarlathotep and any of the Nightgaunts, I mean, to me, Verse 4 had more characterization for the Acolyte then 80% of the character in FS, can't really count the DC Character because he has just broken down all their characters, which isn't saying much mind you, we will need to see how it goes.I don't really disagree with anything you're saying, but there's a fairly big difference between a primarily text-based story with one illustration per chapter versus a comic. You kind of have no choice but to give your protagonist a more clearly defined role since you can't switch between locations/povs and maintain a cohesive story. That's the main reason I think the writing seems better in The Acolyte Chronicles despite being chock full of the same cliches and, at least to this point, thin characterization.
I'll say one thing that I really like about The Acolyte Chronicles is how the author was clever in making it so open-ended that you can use characters from any universe. That's another inherent problem with Forsaken Souls being confined to DC. It's gone on for so long that he can't possibly maintain the same cadence of characters to corrupt because there just aren't that many left. The Acolyte Chronicles will never have that problem and it makes each chapter more interesting even though the way it plays out is every bit as formulaic as Forsaken Souls.
As for Forsaken Souls, I'm hoping that the implication that Wonder Woman can be redeemed is going to be explained as a necessary step in her ultimate transformation. Like she needs to feel love one more time so that the last bit of goodness within her can be eradicated and she'll finally become Shub-Niggurath. I don't mind if the story is predictable or poorly written if the events are interesting. That would be interesting to me. Whatever has been happening for the past, I don't know, half dozen chapters hasn't been, sadly.

I would say it is a problem with FS only because its gone on for this long and the writing has gotten so bad, if it had remained as only shown us Nyarlathotep and his nightgaunts side if of things, and only showed a little of the "heroes" side, splitting it say 70/30, then the comic would have been better imo and had a lot more sex,
I would agree, I do not mind if it is predictable, but I do mind if it poorly written for one reason, when it doesnt make sense, You have more faith of what will happen with wonder woman than me, I want Nyerlhotep to win, honestly because with how strong he is and how much he has done, it shouldn't be possible to defeat, just look at the long list of character he has beat, absorbed and even draw, ffs he stood toe to toe with Darkseid and would have clearly beat him, to beat him would be the biggest ass pull ever, even with Pharaoh already writing this utter stupid shit of making them stronger than the gods of New Genisis (I fucking laughed my ass off reading that part).
At this point, the good guys are failing upwards lol, I see this ending with batman getting through to Wonder Woman, she switches sides, power lover conquers all and they defeat the big bad, end of story, role credits, start on the sequal.
See for me the same goes for The Acolyte Chonicles as it does for FS, if your going to have this much story, at least make it entertaining, interesting, and some kind of sense in the world you have established, I knew that last part went out the window when Katana killed Catwoman with her sword, last I checked, Nightgaunts do not have souls to steal ha.
Yea, I am only speculating here but clearly hiring out an artist is limiting things as far as Visuals, I wish there was a little explanation to the whole 2B thing, in the same token, it is at least more explained than what happened to Cyborg in forsaken souls and whatever happened to Red Arrow and Spoiler in FS, suddenly now Red Arrow and Spoiler are now robots after being fucked by cyborg/grid, I also had to check the writing again to be sure and while it still is a little clumsy it does say "so long as it was a member of the speciesā childbearing sex, or, at least, an automaton of their visage", which does raise some interesting questions about if the childbearing Sex of a species is male lmfao, I just wonder what the follow through with 2B is going to be because, right now it depends on the follow through and damn she took a dicking lol.Yeah, I wish there were more illustrations, even if it weren't a full comic. I have mixed feelings about Verse 4 because the transformation itself wasn't very creative considering 2B is an android. The way he explained how characters without souls can still be corrupted as long as they look like women was so clumsy. I think it would have been way more interesting if the explanation were more compelling, like maybe The Acolyte found a way to give her a soul first and then corrupted it. It would have made the ending with her being so robotic more impactful due to the irony of her seeming more human when she didn't have a soul, now she has one and she's even more machine-like.
Having said that, I loved what he did with Liara. She was genuinely interesting in a way that the nightgaunts in FS never are. Their transformations are visually appealing and then they're basically relegated to being mooks with zero depth. If the Acolyte Chronicles continues to make the characters he corrupts interesting in their own right, then that'll be a huge improvement on FS. It's just disappointing we didn't get an image of Liara's head tentacles ripping 2B's partner's limbs off or the way her body opened like a giant mouth. Those are genuinely creative visuals that are left to the imagination. I guess that's the main reason I find myself preferring Forsaken Souls so far, even though I acknowledge the myriad flaws in the story, characterization, lore, hell even the proofreading haha.
I'd add that I don't really think I have more faith about what will happen with Wonder Woman, that's just what I'm hoping will happen because it's actually one of the few things that's kind of supported in the story. Like the whole deal with her transformation was that she had to kill the love inside of her to be reborn as, presumably, Shub-Niggurath. It appeared to work, but she's never addressed as Shub-Niggurath nor does she demonstrate any of the powers you'd expect from an Outer God. Then she finds out Batman still loves her and suddenly her eyes return to normal, she spares Lex and Cheetah, etc. Either this is literally the worst writing I've ever seen (an outer god showing mercy because her old human bf still loves her? the fuck?) or the implication is that she hasn't fully ascended because she still had a little bit of love left in her heart. She didn't kill it all. Now that it's been brought to the forefront, it can be eradicated for good, allowing her to complete her ascension. That's how any decent author would play it. I really hope he doesn't fumble such an obvious and compelling if predictable set-up. You can really go wild with the design for what would essentially be a female version of Nyarlathotep.
