I disagree strongly with the assessment of Julie doing a character motivation switch up. Julie, like Alex, didn't even know or perceive the sexuality of Katie and Jack. This reality is used for the hilarious sight gag depicting Julie walking into the bathroom and having that paradigm shift in real time. Before that moment she wouldn't have seen Jack pro or con in terms of sexuality. I think it's clear that Julie is saying had she known Jack was developing sexually and was actively interested her basic democratic team dynamic (in an alternate universe in which she would embrace incest in the first place) personality would indeed compel her to give Jack access.
