looking for advice on converting old video formats to safer ones

Hi, I was looking thru some of my collection that I haven't look at in years and I noticed a few video files in the .swf format and some dcv files as well I was wondering if there were programs available to convert them to avi, mp4, mov, ect. I am hesitant to open those files for safety reasons. and I thought converting them to other formats might help reduce or eliminate the chances of them infecting my computer.

I use FreeStudio to do my conversions.

It can convert justa bout anything to anything. Never tried the formats you mention, but there's a freeware version you can download to try and see if it works.

Avidemux is another free program that lets you save and edit vidieos.
