[Various Artists] Skinsuit Special

Also I wanted to suggest a theory and tell me what you guys think because I also noticed at least in one of the other forums that YT snow also didn't translate his recent comics or at least false honor. I had a sneaky suspicion when zis started to do it but I'm now kind of leaning to the idea that they may be not translating it. They hope that the likelihood of their stuff appearing on forums or sites for free would go down

I see that you are onto something and it does kind of makes sense. Keeping it in the original language reduces the risk of piracy but again reduces their customer base. I agree piracy is wrong but not everyone can afford it, and we all have to agree if it wasn't for piracy we wouldn't even know about these creators.

Definitely especially the sites because that's how I found these people but also. It's a weird mood because like you mentioned it cuts off a customer base but it's also weird because they're also assuming then that the majority of the pirators are American. Because what I'm thinking is is that they're thinking if they don't translate it that even if they pirate it. There would still be another step for Americans to read the comic because then they would have to find someone to translate it.

Which ultimately I have two stances on it now that I think about it more one is that it's dumb under the idea that even now if you just look at this form and others they are still getting their stuff rich and release freely on the webs it's just not translated. But I can also I guess understand how it may seem like a appealing option if you assume the majority of the pirate is are pirating it for people who speak English. Because then that does technically make their job easier cuz they don't have to find someone to translate it or translated themselves. We're technically it makes their job easier while possibly unlimiting some Pirates which yet again still doesn't make sense cuz yet again you're still eliminating customers.

Because it's like at the end of the day I'm pretty sure the majority of these creators customers were originally people who saw their stuff for free.

Hey my guy I was just wondering is there a specific place here like posting your translations and have you started working on eight not trying to apply pressure or anything just asking. And also because up to the part of where I read in this I feel like I'm going to be left on a cliffhanger I'm not going to like LOL
Hello, how are you? I've been busy these past few weeks. I don't have a specific place to post it yet, as I'm doing it for free. Despite the fact that the whole process takes quite a while, I'll probably soon get around to continuing with the translation of Chapter 8. It's also been a while since the original author of the work hasn't posted any new updates. Thank you for your question, and I hope you're well.

Indeed, I agree with you, in my case, I usually look at the works of zis or ytsnow but it's been a while since they have translated their work in an original way, in fact, I would also say that those translations are not done by them, but, as in that case that I am continuing to translate at least that comic, it is unfortunate that there are many works in Chinese that are really good in history and graphically but because they are not translated they become quite limiting for English-speaking consumers, but for the rest of the world, that takes away a lot of visibility, which I believe that despite the piracy of their works, that would generate good publicity and obviously more profits with many more subscribers.

I'm fine and thanks again for the translations. I don't know if you saw my other comment from a while ago. But I was also wondering why do you translate them I've been down I'm assuming it's to mimic the already existent text. And if that's the reason I get it because it can be hard to read at times. Have you thought about just covering the already existing speech bubble and translating the text left to right

Yeah. It's something that I find pretty dumb especially on Snow's part just because of how far he is willing to go because anyone who has red snow stuff knows he has jump through many Hoops in order to try to stop people from pirating. Even though I'm pretty sure more than 50% of him and zis customers are people that found their stuff on free sites. Because I can definitely tell you as a American the type of content they make you don't see a lot nor gets a lot of attention. Which is kind of weird for me because at least from my times of following them neither of them have fallen in hard times to wear. At least for me it would warrant them being super stingy on trying to get every nickel and dime. When ultimately the more eyes that see it the more subscribers will come from it

Oh right, an apology, the truth is I forgot to reply to your comment but to be honest I do this translating it for the love of art hahaha, I just liked the comic a lot and so I decided to do it since I didn't see a clear translation by the author nor did I find one anywhere, for the text I only relied on translation tools to do it, let's say that it's the best way that the dialogues can be translated, more than anything so that it doesn't take up so much space and take away the grace of the images themselves, if it were up to me of course I would normally do the text from left to right but more than anything because of the issue of spaces since from Chinese to English there is a lot of difference so it is complicated to put the text in a way that is understandable, I found no other option than to put it like you see it haha

Exactly, in fact it is much better for them that more people know about their works, whether paying or for free on different sites, in the end it is advertising for them, in this way people who see it for free can be encouraged to pay for their content in an original way and thus they can ensure that those people stay subscribed to their content because they really like it and not just to unlock everything, save it and the next month they no longer subscribe.

Oh really. Then do you think he makes or Alters the image when he translates it on his own. Because I did have a feeling you didn't want to take up I guess more space than the original translation. Where I will at least say I wouldn't necessarily have a problem just under the idea that the way that I imagine it it would just look like how he originally translated it. Unless there is alterations with the original image. Cuz even the funnier thing is is that I think a week or two ago I read something I was translated. And I could actually see the original text box behind the speech bubble but it was like very very hard to see cuz they just turned down the opacity I think LOL

Because even now as someone who has recently came in to more money lately has been thinking about possibly subscribing to some of their stuff but also at the same time. Now I feel morally opposed because it's like why are you doing all this to stop this. Cuz there is just some people like me who when they get into more money or at least get a bigger check that they may be more open to subscribing. And kind of bigger than this I don't think this really applies to zis but more snow it isn't like every month at least in the time to be monitoring their uploads you're getting a new comic and I don't know how much their subscription comes to American dollars cuz I haven't looked into it yet but. You're also relying on these people that are going to do something it's going to take time to make the monthly loss of money you are giving to them worth it

And this kind of goes into like something I've been finding myself having a problem I don't know though you guys but in the topic of ytsnow or zis. I don't know about you guys but I know I've talked to someone about this before but recently especially with snow he did it with sister and now Breakout. Where he does this thing where people that were clearly bad to the main characters all the sudden get revenge on the main characters which personally I can't really root for like it happened whenever anything wrong happened to them it ruins like the motivation at least for me when it comes to snow stories cuz it's usually there's a victim and this victim gets a second chance by using the suits to get revenge. And there's a decent story as well as good female models. But I don't know what with his recent writing style wants to make him flip the table because it looks like he's flipping the table again and sister where after the main character gets the rug pull on them now the main characters are going to pull the rug over the bad guys of old that were I guess supposed to feel for now.

I split this into just because the last one was mainly on snow but when it comes to zis. The thing has been bothering me about the way he has been writing his stories lately or at least just needle. I'm not the biggest fan of the way that he's riding it because in his previous Works usually those story went like okay bullies have fun bullying whoever they've been messing with the later over time at some point a change of heart happens in the victim and the bully ends up working together. Lately it's still like the recent Comics has really been leaning into the Conch side of it and personally for me I don't know if anyone else I don't personally choose to read these types of stories for that aspect even though it's the usual storyline that someone's getting someone close to them taken away. Because usually what I end up doing is just read from the perspective of the bully I skip anything that's supposed to make me sympathize with the victim cuz I'm mainly in it for how the girls look. It's one of the reasons why when 7.5 was translated halfway through I stopped reading once it looked like the victim was going to finally win until I reach the point where I saw more likely than not some way than other the victim is going to get manipulated again and fucked over. And I think the other reason why it's irking me so much is just how long this story is compared to I think one of his other ones called bully and that was like so many pages long I think it was probably around 100 plus. But even in that story it wasn't constantly ruining the person's life and then sitting with them having a horrible time it would be more focused on the bullies.

PS sorry about my little rant. I just wanted to get that out there because I also know people like snow and other creators sometimes be lurking or hiding and be watching these forums and as well I just wanted to see if I was alone in how I felt so sorry for the long reads

Yup, in fact what happens in many pages or at least in the case of the author zis is that he usually puts a lot of context and well, although in Chinese it seems quite a lot in English it becomes more extensive, so let's say that I don't get so involved in the issue of editing or wanting to change the text box from its original form because, in some way I feel that I am changing the original concept, my only objective is to translate as is although perhaps not all the text fits in some times in the dialog box, but well, I also didn't want to make the text very small that in the end it will become almost impossible to read or at least I feel that it would be somewhat uncomfortable for whoever reads it

Sure, I know what you mean, it's complicated since it's very true that paying for the subscription doesn't guarantee that you'll get at least one monthly content or several as perhaps at some point the author could have been provided with for x or y reasons, perhaps if he's very active then it might be worth it, but, at least what I've seen with zis is that he's been missing for quite some time without any publication other than at the beginning of the year when he published a small preview of a few images but that's the kind of thing that makes us a little wary of paying for this type of content even if we're willing to do it
