This is the revised 2nd edition.

The original was based on erin2000's Bad Neighbors (the first four parts) and didn't appear to be edited much other than changing the characters names. It was only 6 chapters. I've uploaded that version.

Looking at the preview at Amazon, there ford appear to be more editing. There are what I would guess a page or so of text to start chapter 1 that wasn't in the original, nor erin2000's version.

Not sure if the additional 10 chapters in the 2nd edition are due to editing or simply including the second part of erin2000's story.

For some reason, erin2000 broke her's up into two series, with the same name, so I merged them using EpubMerge in calibre

To understand i found instead of keeping track of names (because the names and data are downloaded as part of the story) i could do storyID and authorID, this meant i could do a much simpler forloop rather than a crawler, and it's easier to tell when stories are missing. ID's for everything is 8 digits, and the upper 4 digits are put as directories because at the time doing over say 10,000 files in a FAT32 folder was slow and much more annoying. (I did start this back in 2006 when i was in korea... so...)



Well you might extract the authors archive, but mostly you want to use the index file. use grep and serch for the particular author (or story or keyword) you are looking for. Each story entry is a single line, which will include author fileID brief description, keywords, etc.

(etc etc, prepended author so if you sort all the same author is put together...)


Once there you can simply rename the output to an htm file and use as hyperlinks, if you extract all the files. If you want to only extract select files you inputted, i added a script extract_matched.sh which is almost a 1-liner. It basically grabs the link information and then translates that and extracts files one at a time until all the provided ones (from index) are present. That way you don't have to extract 20Gb of data.

Renaming the files i hadn't made a script, but extracting the <title> tag, removing unnecessary stuff, renaming characters that can't be filenames, and then doing a mv command would do the job. I do that sometimes when extracting stories for specific authors in other threads, or story series that may be lost.

Now, let's assume you are a windows user and have NO idea what i'm talking about. If you know at least the author you're interested in that will work. Extract all archives, then rename index to index.htm and authorsindex to authorsindex.htm.

Open authorsindex.htm, (the index is a bit big, so probably don't open that directly...) find an author you want and click it. It will open the authors ID of that user, and all links will point to their appropriate stories. Done. You'll note the authors have the original table plus a sorted-by-date version.
