[Sandy Thomas] Feminization

Never trust your memory, it's a lying bitch, full of half truths, it will merge those half truths into a total lie.
"KOTOR was the first game I bought on GOG", when fact checked, it's actually the 90th "Good Old Game" I bought on GOG.
It was the very 1st time that I bought a game on GOG, that I owned on Steam (Broken At purchase no refunds back then) & when my store preference changed from Steam to GOG. I'd confidently told that lie many times, until I had reason to check my GOG purchase history.

It was a very significant moment, because it was the key to opening up my PTSD suppressed memories & understand I wasn't the "Sexual Pervert" the family dictionary told me I was, a 4 year old Transvestite with a clothing fetish? Got shifted to Puberty, a series of half truths & misdirection.
My memory is still a confusing mess, even 7 years after I finally understood

Heh, you're right, unless you have a really good memory and organize it correctly, it's a pain. I have memories of looking up the elder scroll games and playing them on my dad's computer back in 1998 or so, nevermind when i bought the game in 2002 my computer was incapable of playing it and we had to buy a whole different PC. I have broken memories of things happening that never happened, and only through logic do i find i discount them as impossible and don't rely on them.

Most likely the jumbled memories are attaching and reusing associated memories of something which then mucks it all up. The first time you opened a pack of magic cards holds a certain memory, then opening up a different package another time with a very similar smell and it overwrites or takes over that memory's mental location and place, etc.

As for GoG... well depending on when you signed up, that may not matter. I signed up back in ~2014? And they automatically shoved 10 games on me. (All freebies, Ultima 4, Beneath a steel sky, Tyrian2000, etc.). They don't do that anymore, not that i go to the site since i've been banned. *shrugs*

I have bible-thumping parents who indoctrinated me into a church when i was... 6? got dis-fellowshipped when i was 18. Then it took me more than 10 years to unwind and figure it all out, and come to my full own conclusions why i acted the way i did. (If you must know, i refused to lie about losing my virginity, quite a fuss for my parents... nevermind I'm sure all my other siblings lost theirs long before, definitely my sister long before i did)

Like so many things today, best not to trust anything blindly. Things are moving too fast, and there's too much information to keep track of it all.

Hi all, Thanks for the explanation. As I understand some books are from other writers under the Sandy Thomas Published.

Steam Doesn't record my first purchase, I was that clueless about buying games on PC, never having a PC that could play them.
I went to Game (UK Gamestop) & preordered AC3 on Disc (last disc I ever purchased & the staff were clearly surprised to see anybody preordering a Disc for PC even then) & actually bought a Steam Key for Skyrim, not knowing I could have just downloaded Steam first.

Today before this Memory fact check session, after already writing those words above I would have said I first bought Skyrim in December 2012 when I joined Steam. The year before I built my Gaming PC, I got access to £1,000 Gaming Laptop where I played a Pirated Copy, now I'm not certain of that, I know Skyrim was the first Steam purchase. & would have said PC game, but for finding this.

Welcome to Steam 30/09/11

Skyrim released 11/11/2011 seeing as I pirated everything before buying Skyrim, this suggests I may have actually bought it at release, it was a Vanilla end game bug that stopped the portal to the final Alduin battle. trying to fix that led me to Nexus Mods, never did get to that battle,1000s of hours modding that game, never bothered fighting Dragons again, or used the dumb "Shouts".

Assassins Creed 3 Released on October 30, 2012, (this reminds me I think that may have been AC2 & AC3 on Disc plus the Skyrim Key card purchases from game on the same visit, it seems to line up with)

Discover the new Uplay website 26/10/2013
Thank you for ordering on Ubisoft. The product that you preordered is now available.
Again totally forgot this purchase.
There was an entire hoop jumping process to download the offline installers from digitalriver.com
So this was before the Uplay App existed, one Ubisoft game I got was called "I Am Alive", that was never available on Uplay, the entire game installer had to be downloaded from digitalriver.com & when EA shut that down I had to get a new link for the installer after proving I owned the game, it was a pain in the ass. The AC games moved onto Uplay, but that one never did, I only own AC 1 & other old Ubisoft games on GOG now,

Ubisoft - Order Confirmation for Assassin’s CreedĀ® III - Season Pass 05/;12/2013
When each DLC released I got an eMail with a Product key & link to download the offline installers from digitalriver.com

Discovered Nexus Mods, bought Lifetime Premium Account

Your payment to Black Tree Gaming Limited 22/02/2013

Given the fact checking my best guess for the Skyrim + all DLC as separate purchases on one Skyrim Steam Key Card bought in the Game store with AC2 & 3 on Disc is now 26/10/2013. (if I needed Digital River link, or 4 days later that would make sense I'd have played those games before Skyrim (My first BGS experience))
This matches my memory of pirating it for the first play through & the Skyrim bug was in December 2012
So that Steam Login in 2011, was probably one look & GTFO for over a year I actually think it was around February when I got Skyrim Keys now & it may have been an online purchase I can't find. Game did have a website I may have used.
I forgot about all that Digital River Stuff, as the AC games were added to Uplay much later, they were "After Steam" in my distorted timeline.

I've got a very custom setup, nobody but me can troubleshot my PC, because I've modded everything on it.
My setup is Dual booting W11 Pro 24H2 & 23H2 Daily Driver on C Drive, Backup/Next version on L Drive
Everything else is D to K, so I can install a new Windows underneath all my modding of 3rd party content.

I get everything lined up, Using SymLinks & HardlLnks mostly (C Drive is only for OS, Drivers, Custom Security & Virtualisation) so both OS installs work as the C Drive & the Live backup is always L.
It gives me a Fresh install each major Update, removing any Technical Debt & SNAFUs can be corrected, it's always a learning process combined with MS changing things I don't want & change back like W7 Start Menu & W10 taskbar I still use, even have bits from XP I keep working.

I get as much fun out of modding As I do playing games, but I'm self taught at everything, so I'm only really an expert on how my own PC works, it's never just default Windows.

Anyway that's a good example of Fact checking changing how I remember things, so I've left the early "From Memory" Information to show the process of my correcting it as you read this entire post.

These were accidental errors, the memory suppression was wilful misinformation by my own subconscious, much harder to break down, but this was the process that I needed to break through while my subconscious was trying to stop me & still is now, but it can't make me forget again.

I was reading a story on Big Closet Top Shelf
The Reluctant Girl – Series – Story 1 ≔ The Reluctant Girlfriend by Melanie Brown

It was a simple explanation, Transvestites gain a sexual fetish for wearing Female clothing after puberty starts.
A desire for femininity before puberty, is different, the clothes are an expression of femininity, not a satisfaction of male sexual desires getting fixated on the clothes.

This was the understanding I had always lacked, originally from my own fear & ignorance for 10 years, combined with it being male puberty that drove me to try to steal some Lingerie from a washing line & that led to my arrest. That was the foundation of the mental blockage & it was shattered on reading that story,
I instantly knew I was always Transgender, but we still don 't understanding why & how we end up with in overly simplistic terms, a female mind, in a male Body.

When I here the slur, "You'll never be a Woman", I laugh out loud, no shit Sherlock, now you've discovered what the problem is, got any solutions?

Steam Doesn't record my first purchase <snip> Welcome to Steam 30/09/11 <snip>

I remember when i was a kid, very specifically that some online service was cropping up that you could register your CD's and then be able to download them again later. Naturally only having Dialup as an option, i thought this was a stupid idea. This would be about 2000. Might have been Steam or another service getting their foundations laid. I don't know. But databases seem to be frequently purged so purchase histories just go poof. I'd bought books from Herogames (think D&D or Gurps, but a much more powerful toolkit). More than once the download links for digital books are broken, and purchases are missing, though they are nice enough to re-register them when i ask. Kinda dropped bothering after getting a super archive of almost everything.

Hmmm... Maybe. I know reading books i've felt my mentality shift many times before and sometimes i don't know what i am until i look in the mirror and reassert myself. Happens more when erotic roleplaying where i take far more onto the persona i am playing and i can keep it there if i want. But i usually revert to my physical gender and personality afterwards. So in theory if you read or roleplay enough of what you want to become, you will become it. Kinda the 'if you pretend to be the villain long enough, you'll become the villain' thing. It could also be chemical, i'd heard (though as an anecdote so i've no clue if it's real) that a gay guy had gotten some testosterone shots. Suddenly a couple weeks later he was attracted to girls and not guys.

And if you wanted to play the girl, take care of yourself as your body requires. If you DO have the lean body/face where you can go either way, then exercise/shape your body to match what you want, and find a partner who is willing to treat you as you want to be treated. That or treat the world as A-sexual except for your partner and just follow the rules as not to get in trouble.

Mmm... Maybe my autism is seeing the world too easily in black and white...

While the Cover is for
TVIA18 – The Makeover by Sandy Thomas
When I compare it to
TVIA17 – Petticoats For Patrick + In Feminist Hands by Elvira. Ā© 1962, 1966, 1992
TVIA19 – Boys To Babes by Dee Raymond Ā© 1969, 1993

I have serious doubts about the content, it's missing the publisher pages, and end page adverts, plus both those issues are 65 pages, this is 28.
Also the Transvestia Font on the top of the pages is different with the text font also not matching

Worst case scenario, a complete fake is very unlikely.
So what we actually seem to have here is home made PDF extracting a story from the original 1960s? Print run
The Story is not titled The Makeover, which also is a discrepancy.
La Shoppe Beaute by Rita - Ind.

One possibility is it's just the font size that makes this seem smaller, you'd need a word count for that, not easy with JPG, my auto count feature only works with editable text, not page pics.

So my assessment is a user made PDF, the original is still missing, but not "Completely" now we have Cover & content.

Most likely taken from those original hand made page by page printed as the mail orders were received.
So in some ways it's the most "Original" version & it's quite possible given how it was made that all the missing publishing stuff was added to the 1990s editions we usually get.

Great addition, though I was very dubious at first, this may be all there was, these were fold Pages in half & two staples made more like "Fanzines" were back in the day, the old school "fan sites" in the pen & paper era I was born in.
So updating the Title to match new information
TVIA18 – The Makeover AKA La Shoppe Beaute by Rita - Ind.

Also just noticed
TVIA16 – Feminine Forte by Dee Raymond
TVIA16 – Feminine Forte by Dee Raymond.JPG

Is the only other one with the same cover style, but the cover looks odd, with the content matching the more modern styles we have in other volumes.
That looks like an added pic, likely my work, but I'm not the only one & I match page size to the image, no white borders in my dark mode explorer that way.
So I don't think I added the cover to this eBook, but someone did.

These also could be a different series entirely given the Magazine titles & they are the only ones with Volume on the cover
But given I got the category orders & titles from published catalogues, it's not that likely, just a marketing change is my guess.

This is actually the original scanned version of 'La Shoppe Beaute by Rita', but only with wrong coverpage and book title. For reference, I've attached here the version of 'La Shoppe Beaute by Rita' that I have in my collection.

Not exactly the same content, but it's not the same layout open them side by side.
So this may well be the original story, then STP republished it much later, as the Transvestia heading on the pages of that one suggests.

This particular Category, seems to be Sandy Thomas Reprinting Stories originally published much earlierer.
That's where those Ā© 1960s seem to come from, as my understanding was Sandy Thomas started publishing in the 1980s.

She made the Books on a word processor, so it wasn't as manual as hand placing each letter, so each page layout was much easier that way.
It was nothing like a modern PC & Printer setup, but still easier than typesetting which took much longer in the past.

Scratch that, no you're wrong
Missed this origally as it's an added page to your upload. page 2 to be exact.

So it appears the Covers wrong & unfotunately I have very little of the Transvestia Magaxine.
In fact on looking I thought I had less, but it's not included in that upload above, because it's not just PDFs

It's not much, but these are exactly as I got them, not sure why "The Makeover", maybe all from one post, or location.
You can tell my edits, even if you miss the naming styles, my extensions are in Capitals, default is all small case.

It's come back now, I made those details pics in a post trying to point out new information.
If my mistrusted memory is correct, it was the "Revelation", that Virginia Price published most of the magazines.
It was Sandy Thomas, that got hold of the rights much later publishing them again with all the Sandy Thomas Advertising on top.

So Volume XVIII Number 82 (Pages 2-28) was an extract from the original 1974 edition by Chevalier Publications AKA Virginia Price.
Only "The Makeover" cover puzzles me, unless it was an example of TVia Revisited, to show Stories were also extracted for that STP Book Category.

Oh FFS how did I miss those mags, was just making a post about how Sandy Thomas (Publisher) got the rights to Transvestia Magazine forgot I ever had them.
Quick archive to add there, post it next.
Just found these, not technically by STP, these are originals & scans of physical books AFAIK

Just found these, not technically by STP, these are originals & scans of physical books AFAIK

SNAFU:: file was bigger than I thought all Scans so bigger than text PDFs, splitting it now.

Hmmm extracting the pdf's and reducing the colors to clean up the bleed would probably save a ton of space. But then the matter of OCRing it would be a bit of a pain... Unless i could extract the images, process and then re-inject them.

I provide best quality source, it's people that were "Space saving", that leads to the copy of copy deterioration in image quality.
I'm a gamer, my entire TG collection 20 years of collecting
TFG 1..45 TB

Gaming I could get Skyrim & Fallout 4, Any two BGS - Bethesda Gaming Studios games heavily modded matches that TG in space hogging.
With 26 TB of storage for games I still run out of space, here's how I find space,

I delete everything I don't think I'll need & just keep the Archived version, so when I do want to use that Data again, it's available.
As my gaming collection are my real space hoggers, I archive the installers, but mostly just doing GOG "Game Goodies", which started by providing al the stuff that might come in the Physical discs of the early PC Era, now going back to the late 80s for the earliest "Good Old Games", in a modern DRM free offline installer which is getting the disc content with every update, at one time even the updates (rarer but did exist, came on Disc.

Sometimes I even saw PC Magazines used to deliver updates, they were even rarer, but you got entire games that way sometimes, especially before PC, when "Home Computers were manufacturers walled gardens & games had to be ported as if each Intel, AMD, Nvidia GPU only worked with their own components.
I call it the consoles with keyboards (mouse & got later, my Commodore 54 had no mouse, the Amiga came with a mouse & "huge" Floppy Drive" storage.

That 64k was the RAM & storage was on audio cassettes (never got into top 10 tunes for some reason, find an "Audio example" & hate me later).
The Amiga was an upgrade to a huge 1MB & it was 15-bit in 1985, I was enthusiastic, Elite the very 1st "3D game" (wire frame graphics) was only 8-bit.
Then the Industry struck ^ "Cross-gen" the games all stayed *-bit.

My "Gaming" went back to Pen & paper D&D, I quit computer gaming, disillusioned with the industry & 3D took longer Than I expected.
In 1999, I saw tomb raider 4, I had just moved from the streets to an hostel & it was Christmas, best time for passive begging.
Sit there looking pathetic & let people give you money, don't lie.

"This for Drugs", reply it's money, it's for whatever I need to survive on the streets, if you want that sort of power over the spending,, you spend it on food, or whatever you think I need (Maybe just ask, what I'd like. A year or so later I moved onto selling Street Papers (even payed taxes after they caught me).
Ran that now "legitimate", self-employed business until 2018.

Flush with my Christmas cash, TV, PS2 & Tomb Raider 1 to 4, had some catching up, second hand shuffling routine, then "cross gen" again.
2005, doing better selling "The Big Issue In The North", me & my partner vendor, got a lifetime "Council House" contract (pay rent = it's yours for life).
Those don't exist now, except the Legacy rights holders like us, now all short term & evict-able at end.

That was when I became a PC gamer, an OEM supermarket mistake, but still a decent PC, but then three months later Games went Dual Core.
For 8 years I saved Up to build my Dream Gaming PC, while playing & modding the old single core PC games I could play.
I hated discs, they sold out long ago for these games, Piracy was my only source (I'd pirated those audio tapes, 1982 dual cassette "Boom Box").
GOG later provided that service, but in the future, in those 8 years I became a PC expert, teaching myself with RTFM & I was online.

My real "PC gamer" period started then, I've always lived below minimum wage, I by 2013, though always a drug addict, I stopoped buying them around 2010.
this little flat the one point of stability, living with a drug addict I could trust with money (reality is the opposite) though NOT partners, we live in a socialist society of two, he's dyslexic, but great cook, he Feeds Me I manage all the money, beyond knowing the totals & the usual crap of capitalists trying to screw us.
He doesn't worry about the details, I know his hobbies are more expensive than my gaming.

This is just the hardware spending, my PC is a power hog his Honda VTX 1300 S, custom Trike conversion was 10 years old cost £9,000.
Then there's the garage full of tools (most in our unused "Living Room", plus if the PC is mine, the £6,000 + £000 trade in of the 2008 Skoda.
That swapped to a Skoda Fabia Monte Carlo Tsi (105), they called it a Hot hatchback), now I do online research for him, I know the model.
I used to get a free bus pass, until I moved from Lancashire, to Greater Manchester, due to being blind in one eye.

I can't & never wanted to drive, so if we ever divided, he'd get the car & I'd get the PC, while now they are technically "ours", usage is split.
My current UK benefits total yearly income is £12,000, he gets £150 less per month (Legacy Benefit), was £50 more in 2018 when the switch happened.
To switch, make a new claim, benefit stops, months later you get the new benfit, if you pass the medicals again.
Only because we changed government, this year it changed, you now get the old one, until the new one is set up, but he retires next month.

When he becomes a pensioner, he will be putting more into the pot than me, plus I'm working class, mum worked shifts in the cotton mills.
His dad, was descended from Royalty, but middle class, parents, was a Butcher, he worked damn hard because he was the BOSS.
He sold is multi-shop Business when he saw the Supermarkets start 50 years ago, retired age 42 & became an "Investor".

He is obsessed with his final score, using "The Will" as a weapon to compel obedience, my flat mate is a socialist, despite that pressure.
In the will, out the will (Mostly this), his mum dies a few weeks ago & his father ignored him, we wanted them to spend the money on themselves.

The man's in his 90s, when he does die, we will know, if I'm suddenly managing an "Investment Portfolio" worth millions.
Honestly, though not my money, or decision to make, I'll be much happier without that, having a liquidity pool, is the secret to living within your means, save as much as you can week by week, building up a month, or two of bills in advance, never buy on credit, legally on UK Benefits £6.000 is the savings limit.
Ā£2k to 4k (both of us) average, but shrinks when PC components, or hard to find Trike parts (that original bike model was created for US market) are needed.

That's it no magic, I give the buy, wait decision for £100+ purchases & when I choose his products for him, I choose the best product for that task, then find the best price, he's learned I rarely miss, my choices last long beyond the Warranty & my PC purchases reflect that.

If you haven't guessed what's coming, here the full list, going back to the 2013 Original build.

One added point on the diversions, you only see the ones I don't write then delete.
You usually get the 10% I finish & they tend to have Multiple diversions, in a short comment these days, by my standards.
My two year pause (NHS waiting list) very long, due to the Tories wanting it gone, but knowing we won't let them,
Every time, decade of Tory destruction, followed by the slightly less awful "only other option" trying to repair the damage.

Back on topic.
How can you run out of space? Make room for what you want.

Note: UK prices include 20% VAT (Value Added Tax), most countries advertise price before Sales Tax (Total price with VAT added is required by law).
VAT is mostly set at 20%, but some goods get no vat, Books mostly don't but eBooks were taxed until 2020.
Most people don't think about VAT, we see the total price & if VAT is applied, the % is shown in the subtotal, but changes nothing.
We take notice of P&P, because that is added to the total, VAT just exists as an unavoidable cost, we don't need to consider.

HDDs are obsolete these days, but great cheap storage, my long term plan is NVMe (running), SSD (Data), HDD (only for backups).
4 years GPU cycle & 5 year CPU cycle, with the most important choice first, the resolution I will game at, that the PC must provide

I expected to see Cheaper prices, but given all the Tariff BS, current Amazon prices for drives I would buy (quality over price) WD/Seagate, in the past.
I would check the quality is as good now as it was then, but beyond an RMA that wrecked my Mods & TG collections (recovered a lot of it).
My drives have all been troopers the only reason those 2TB ones are not still current, is I have no slots left so got more capacity instead.
2 TB for £60
4 TB for £80
8 TB for £150
16 TB for £250+

Keeping things you rarely access in archives is my space creating tip.

Anyway back to your next Storage problem, my entire collection

Here no file can exceed 250 MB, so anything bigger must be split into chunks

Note: ≔ means "Identical To", it's not the same as equals.
Just because most of you are ignorant about a topic I happen to be very knowledgeable about, doesn't mean I think you can't learn.
We all start out ignorant, in some topics, I'm the "Dummy" & you're the one I might seek, because if you wrote the manual, I will RTFM (read The Fucking Manual) to learn that subject, if it interests me, or is the basic knowledge I need to do what I want.

I'm old, tired, my body feels wrong & always has, I do not mean offense & don't take offence when offence towards me is intended.
I was born with a "Baby Eye", (stopped Growing in the womb, but at birth looked normal, but only two of 7 muscles even grew.
It's literally as if the Left eye subprogram crashed & that part stopped growing (Fucking really wish it had been my penis & both testicles).

Mum was in labour for 7 days, induced by the "Doctor" (Reason?) a minute into the day I was originally due, I was cut out of her womb.
12 days later she was recovered enough to hold me & spotted the lack of movement, the eye is alive, but as good as my little finger at seeing.
Try that one, put your hand behind your back & think about what you can see, that is true blindness, not shutting your eyes.

As I grew, the Eye "Shrank" into the hole, your eyelid muscles are weak, need that eyeball to rest on.
I became "Cross-eyed" as those two muscles, were both at the nose end, by 5 it was closing, by ten it was almost closed, & still is today.
That's basically the resting place the muscles can't move the lid more than a fraction & that is identical DMA, building complex life is hard, even with the blueprint.

I learned what I needed, by RTFM by somehow picking up a family dictionary, accidentally reinventing the scientific method before I understood what those words mean, I just keep searching & for most things, the answers already been discovered, I just RTFM until I find what I need.

Download all the parts to your root folder, I use this path as my Root folder for all my TG content.

Note to self it's getting close to the post limit of 15 GB, hope I don't have to redo this one, due to the real limit being *.080 a naming limit, not upload size.

It literally beggars my comprehension that some of you come here for free files (not the problem) & don't have any idea about the basics.
Get given the step by step idiots guide explaining a basic & simple extraction, I use 7-Zip, but even Windows should extract this.
Now it's split the archive, it's 61 files here, but really just one 7-Zip Archive.

The 7z Split Archive Needs 14.8 GB of storage (This can be deleted when the Tar Archive has been extracted
The Tar Archive Needs 26.7 GB of storage (Recommend you repack this into a Single 7Z Archive after extracting the folder as the backup)
The extracted folder needs 31.3 GB of storage

Total to extract this content & keep everything needs 72.8 GB of Storage
Just Deleting the Split archives after Tar extraction needs 60.8 GB of Storage
While Repacking the Tar file into a 7z file needs needs 72.8 GB of Storage to create, it reduces by deleting the Tar after to 46.1 GB
Finally you can just keep the folder after extracting, deleting all the archives, then it reduces to 31.3 GB of Storage

You cam tell how exhausted I get, I missed the tar step, in the space needed section, now fixed.
Those are your four options, I just keep the folder, original sources may be archived inside the folders provided.

Extract the entire folder in one click

Now uploaded, have fun and post!

These have been provided as they were on creation time, whatever is inside, I'm uploading a 1.45 TB TG collection I've already stopped maintaining for health reasons, this is just the Sandy Thomas folder.
Here's the stuff without a Publisher thread to post in.

I provide best quality source, it's people that were "Space saving", that leads to the copy of copy deterioration in image quality.
I'm a gamer, my entire TG collection 20 years of collecting

Depends on the processes involved and types of files. On Jpeg/JFIF files Jpegoptim can improve compression (ranging 3%-50%, the 50% usually on blank pages) without altering quality. Internally it says it's optimizing huffman tables to just store better. PNG files unless you alter the image.

Lossless WebP for PNG's can result in a lot of savings, i've seen images on here cut in half for some of the 4k content. I've got a script that does most of the hard work, i just gotta let it unpack, optimize, repack, then look at any that may not have processed right.

I delete everything I don't think I'll need & just keep the Archived version, so when I do want to use that Data again, it's available.
As my gaming collection are my real space hoggers, I archive the installers, but mostly just doing GOG "Game Goodies"
<snip>

Back on topic.
How can you run out of space? Make room for what you want.
I'm seeing 30 TB hard Drives on the market now, though the current market stinks Using my list, shows past markets
<snip>

HDD's aren't obsolete, but there's a technical limit to how much they can store per plate. Since they are cheaper for raw space than Flash/SSD drives, they will be used quite a bit more generally for RAID.

I WAS looking into going back to Tape, but the cost of the machine even the older machines cost too much and the space per tape is woefully inadequate. Not to mention random access would be a pain.

But even getting 4-5 16-20TB drives (plus enclosure) is pricy. You can start with a couple drives and then add to them later if you don't mind the 2 days downtime while it recalculates and spreads the data across devices (and hope there isn't any errors during that process).

It's quite a leap going from only knowing what 4TB over multiple drives feels like, to going 50TB.... and then larger.

I'm aware of how it can be done properly, my preference is Source & higer res, as stated for me a pic is not a space hog, even if 100 MB+.

HDD's are obsolete for my gaming needs, as stated I intend to use my old ones to maintain full backups of my faster SSD's & NVMe's.
Obsolete hardware for gaming has other use cases, for me full backups makes it still useful.

Blue Ray Players were obsolete for me from the moment I built this PC, i got one for free & removed it, because it was useless.
Consoles still come with them 12 years later.
My 2013 mobo was the very first to support USB3, my 2023 choice for my swicth to AMD CPU 7800X3D, was one of the first with USB4.

My perception is from my use case, not the "market perception". Your points are valid from your perception.

See I can do a short post, I just need to get far to exhausted to even one finger type (all I bothered learning) & voila a really short story.

Uhuru,
1st and foremost: Thank You for your efforts!
2nd: Your story is incredible and I can very much relate! - and would like to know more, but it is a very hard read - here and there as it is.

& 3rd: could you help me understand and avoid duplication...

I have a lot of these books from 8 muses, and ... Beyond... Here from APC among other sources...
I've downloaded your gifts and find that the A-Z and other folders tend to overlap. Am I correct in ___ASSUMING___ that anything in the A-Z author folders is duplicated in the other folders?...
Because that does not appear to be the case in the other direction...

Specifically in the Reluctant Press files (Thank You for those) most of the RP, by number presentations, but not all, were available through the 'by author' presentations.
Can you please help me understand - both the difference, and the duplication?

Thanks in Advance,

On duplicates
hard links = no space used
20 years of changing rules so always exceptions
Generally if I have a Publisher thread, authors exclusive to that publisher, do NOT go in the A-Z folder.
A-Z folder is for authors not in my Publisher collections, those that fit both categories are those duplicates.

I can't preserve all my cross folder hardlinks unless I uploaded the entire TG folder, all 1.45 TB, while technically possible to archive that.
I estimate 1.2 TB Tar file & 800GB 7z Archive, so that's 2 TB of free space, I can't make that until I get a new NVMe (only slots free now).

I do suggest you get Link Shell Extension to recreate the links (& see them), it's the core part of my duplication strategy.
It's drag n drop & contest menu batch creation functions are great, but greater is the visual link overlays to see they exist, perfection.
My folders are categories & the duplicates don't take up space, so why not group them in two, or more categories that fit.

I provided the TG/<Folders> at the highest level viable to preserve

On my story

My therapy "practice" writing as I remember things has been getting more frequent
I know, but that's just sort of accidental & I'm still putting the memories back, because it's not simple forget, now remember.
It's more like pulling at threads with boxing gloves as the tweezers.

Some false memories are two true memories weaved together, timings get shifted for the parts you do remember.
all "Dangerous" pre-puberty memories were shifted to post puberty & weaved into the "Sexual Pervert" narrative my subconcios was weaving.
That subconscious fear, of what might happen, ruled my life & I wasn't aware of any of this.

So consider these disjointed posts as the WIP
I'm working on the full story, but with a bit of a twist, because my life will be just an example of how every human perception of "Life, The Universe & Everything" is different, though we all start out ignorant & helpless, no right to even breath without that bum smack, & then years of feeding.

Your rights are defined by the restrictions & can't be given only taken away.
My nation has always been earth, I do not trust humans completely, never fully as individuals & levels of trust exist, the only individual I would trust to rule the world is myself & I don't trust myself enough to take that power if offered, nobody is that smart & I want a say in every rule we make.

Maybe you should all follow my advice, but if you can't understand why the disruption my changes cause are worth enduring (that fire & stake await).
So a philosophy of grass roots education of minds adapting to the new age, now gives me hope our species can grow up before we compete to death.
I'd lost that hope 30 years ago I thought it would take 1000s of years & because of that phone in your pocket, I was wrong on the timing.

I have never trusted individual humans completely, I only trust verifiable facts & I know how to "fix" (stop, not reverse damage) global warming today.
My nation "Uniting & Co-operating", voting on our global rules, it's easy to explain, my logic is irrefutable.

My "Socialist" flat mate, 30 years from "Anarchism is impossible", to step by step refuting all his spurious objections.
Serious ding dong arguments his PTSD wouldn't let him just "agree to Differ", Closest I ever came to walking out.
I realised it was his PTSD, because we had always held the same opinion, this was different, he was fuming when I told him, angriest I've ever seen him, one of the most lethal killers in the army & he had a past reputation for extreme violence, but even in that moment, I trusted the man he was now, not then.
A few days later, he apologized, got the medication he needed that was when he stopped trying to force me to admit "Extremely Difficult" meant impossible.
Now he concedes it's possible, but it's still too difficult to contemplate actually doing it, I get it.

My peers that were not "Disruptive", conformed to the system, signed that social contract, based on a lifetime of stability.
Then the Internet accelerated communication, shrinking a century of "Printing Age" progress into an internet age decade & it's "Disruptive".
Being "Disruptive" is what I do by just existing according to that old system, I'm seeing signs the "Internet Age" raised are being forced to evolve faster.
Just like writing & printing, an expansion of communication, the old world order fell & each on top of the last one.

We are seeing the birth of a new global society, the cross-gen era was disruptive & slower before, it will be faster & over when my gens dead.

So the overarching theme is showing how my perception of things has changed as I gained new information.
To change "society" they must see a more accurate version of reality, the ordinary persons perception, not the smartest (or they get burnt at the stake).

That story of how my perception changed, as I perceived a more accurate version of reality.

I've only really settled on that as the story I want to tell, as it's the most important part, but my waiting time is almost over.
One conversation & hormones Ideally, then see how I feel without testosterone & with estrogen,

OK now, that is a cool little extension...now I see all the little red shortcut overlays and this all getting clearer for me; was not quite picking up what you were putting down about "hardlinks" previously. Nice (y)

You got it, that's why it's "God Tier", not just must have (they have alternatives) but my "God tier" are the unique parts where only that tool can provide that crucial element that has become essential to how I manage my system.

It was all developed for gaming where I possess & control the game on my PC, without using walled gardens that enable "In-Game Cash Shops".
Ownership is meaningless to a global socialist on basic principles of there is no value of exchange & power coupons are the means of exploitation.
Assigning a value to anything, allows that past exploitation to leverage current & future exploitation.

In Global system where my lifelong nation "We The People Of Earth", vote on our global rules & control the means of production.
We are the collective rulers & bosses, if robots do the work for us, it benefits all of us, not only does the government work for us.

Regardless of your perception of reality, for me "Property is Theft", means the power of exchange is the real problem.
Digital content is the only thing in the world that can't create that value, simply because it's infinitely copyable, there is no limit to supply the demand.
They have tried everything to create that second hand market, because they need that power of exchange to control us all.

The reason my perception of this is relevant, is it's the fundamental principle that underlies every decision I male.
Possession & control of my PC & especially it's digital content is the most important element in my entire system.
I want to posses & control my games, mod them as needed for my use & keep them under my full control.

It's one of my core principles, along with treat others as I would want to be treated by them.
My perception of "Life, the Universe & Everything", is barely scratching the surface of my ignorance of reality.

To change 8.2+ Billion ignorant humans to the more realist perception of a 60 year old "Child Prodigy", that is just less ignorant than most, isn't easy.
It doesn't matter how "Smart" I think I am, if I tried to be that "Disruptive", without "Society" understanding the reasons for that "Disruption".

It's not the "smartest" minds that need to be changed, it's the average more "ignorant" people that must want the result of the "Disruption".
When most people understand the global reality that it's "Dividing & Competing" that is causing the mass extinction that will end us.
Only by "Uniting & Competing" globally can we stop the waste caused by competing, the only cause of global waste.

Until the internet accelerated everything, I'd given up caring, I live as a "Unite & Co-operate" parasite in this system I hate.
Even with a very low income I live comfortably in poverty, but my life was much more chaotic before I was 40.
My future was set, I would spend my time gaming, ignoring real life as much as possible & found a place to call home.

That stability (feels like standing on a needle point) & access to the internet, led to the PTSD incident, that gave me the understanding that I was TG.
Even then it took 6 years of recovery to accept the fact that I wasn't "too old" to start taking hormones to change that future.
I still think the start of male puberty is too late, but that decision takes knowledge & understanding I lacked when that vital moment was upon me.

So that gives the core principles I live by, which is also the fundamental principle of possessing & controlling my digital content.

On duplicates
hard links = no space used

Pretty sure that's for linux/unix filesystems, and doesn't work as well on windows machines.

Uhuru,
& 3rd: could you help me understand and avoid duplication...

A main reason i haven't extracted and worked with these yet.

I have a duplicate detection script that will generate multiple files, one to remove duplicate files, and a second to restore it. A slight modifying of the copy/restore would once again make them hard (or soft) links. I use this for my occasional dosbox templates that will install the CD's files the first time you run it.

Though if you are going to use 7zip LZMA and have a big enough dictionary/window then duplicates take basically no extra space, except a few k for really large ones.
