YES. This is exactly what I think is holding his comics back from maintaining the notoriety they once had. He keeps the titles going out of the assumption that we're engaged enough with the characters to follow them regardless of how dead-end the plots end up being. Somewhere it got lost that the story has to have a taboo shock factor to draw you in and create the sexual tension. At this point I think he could generate a more provocative comic about a husband and wife who we've never seen before having sex than another issue of one of his legacy titles with moms and dads and sons and daughters fucking.

That's why I will always consider Dat Ass his best work. It could have been wrapped up in 2-3 issues but would have told one of the most powerful stories because of how he told it and how real and grounded the plot was.

I'm not going to condemn the guy for that. Jab has done a lot of shit that I don't necessarily agree with, but in the case of the slop that he's outputting these days he clearly doesn't care what he's doing, he's just...Providing the fix that many gooners desire. Is it the drugs or the disillusionment of feeling like this being the only revenue stream he has at this point in his life? Maybe, he's clearly not driven to draw just plain pedobait like lilandy or shadbase was - the calculus for him is money - and it's worked, for some reason that is entirely beyond me, he manages to not only get people working for him but makes enough money to still be working through the same pay vendor.

Jab's work used to be sublime. I loved the irreverant sauciness of it when he was happily doing disney and hanna barbera parodies...But that just isn't him these days, sadly. He was right up there with Miravi and Tooshoes for me back in the day.

In short, I honestly think that at this point if you're hoping for coherent storytelling from any of these comics, your best chance is to blank out the text and script your own thread into it.

Nothing, I don't think (I hope), I just haven't seen a massive output from Miravi over the years. If there's any justice in the world, it's because they're working and making bank from their talents.

I liked BadBunny personally, but his writing was truly awful. I tried working with him on some stuff but it was a struggle. I have no idea what happened to him, why he went MIA. But concerning LAZ, I dunno if this is common knowledge, but he scammed a bunch of people before going offline. He announced he was opening commissions, took a bunch of people's money and then just disappeared. Not sure if he was in serious financial trouble or what, but I know he had issues.

Badbunny was a nice guy! Salt of the earth but he was so flaky, and towards the end when he was promising output to keep subscriptions going it was just too much. He learned all the wrong lessons from jab, but I do hope he's doing well.

I have actually done that. Sometimes they just need a nudge toward a better story for the comic to reach its potential.

Yeah like it was around halfway through the series when Sharona and Angus got a bit carried away and he went into her accidentally
Now they’re making out like when she was barely pubescent she was riding his sausage and taking 2-3 men at school events while he watched proudly

All the taboo things in the previous issue were meant to be happening for the first time in both Wong's family and Sharona's.
Now they want us to believe that shit always happened in their families like it was no big deal.
I think much of the appeal of this kind of taboo stuff lies in the escalation phases:

From the normal family dynamics, to the eventual naughty thought, then the realization that it is wrong and initial backtrack, to inner conflict, to temptation, and finally to the liberation that comes from giving in, once the taboo act does happen.

This is throwing all those elements out of the window, at this point might as well just stop doing comics and pretend there's even a story and simply draw panels of the various characters fucking each other like Jab used to do in his Jetsons parody days.

you would have a very difficult time in most European and North American countries persuading a judge that this art is ok. Incest is something they probably wouldn't really give a shit about and make you do a little community service to give you an opportunity to ask some profoundly deep life questions, but the Loli stuff from a legal standing would very much be a case of FAFO.

The determination in the UK (and I believe most of the EU, Canada and US) is that the term "making indecent images" doesn't necessarily mean making them yourself; rather you're downloading an image into your cache or onto your drive, and therefore creating an impression. It's weirdly specific.

oh yea, I'd really be concerned about the legal system if they didn't think this type of art is a problem even if the artists say they are 18+.
but I was just talking about threads like this or F95.
for example DirDogma has shota stuff, and I don't think you can even mention the name in F95 much less post anything. but then there's this and mods don't care about it.

Fantasies can have real consequences and desensitize or distort your image (in this case consuming material like this en masse may convince you that toddlers are sexually attracted to adults and would like to engage in sexual acts with them) it's not that clear cut like fantasies don't hurt anyone - in the Epstein files you can see photos of Lolita quotes on bodies obviously romanticizing sex with young girls. While the source material shows the protagonist as an obviously deeply disturbed and sick person.
