[Incognitymous] Sultry summer - Discussion thread

I feel like a lot of people didn’t understand when Incog said there would only be a “moment” with Cooper. As is being shown here, there is going to be a little scene with Gwen and Cooper, but thats supposedly it. It’s not like with the other chapters, where they were built around a specific character. Cooper is having his fun now, then the scene will move to whatever else Incog has in mind

I hope it'll be just Ben and Gwen this time, there's no new character Incog can introduce now that fits with the cartoon timeline (well he did diverge a bit with Charmcaster but alas). I just want to see Ben and Gwen alone now, even if it is just random one/two pages situations..

Much agreed. I'd love a regular Ben/Gwen scene and I can't help but feel like Cooper getting is in the way of that.

I'm also dying for him to write a story with Jade Chan. Why don't authors listen to fans' requests?I just hope some day Incognitymous will make a complete comic of Jackie Chan and Jade cartoon, it was so good!!

Yeah, I dont mind the detour's but with how slow incog is it can drag a bit. But its good art at the end of the day. I cant draw like that.

Even the art has beeen on a steady decline, you can compare it to his early art, or even early Sultry Summer, it just looks worse now.

I wouldn’t say worse. It’s more stylized/simplified. It’s like the different Ben 10 series. No one would say the art style of Teen Titans was bad, but when Omniverse used that same art style, it got a whole bunch of hate for it. Wasn’t declining then, either. It was just different. If Incog kept the art style from the first chapter, we wouldn’t be able to criticize it as often. I get people miss the way Incog used to draw this comic, but if you actually look from the start of their work, there’s definitely an improvement.

I don't want to be a hater but one of the things I dislike the most is the obsession with keeping everything canon even if the comic suffers because of it. Like Lucy always having that creepy dead smile during sex just because she's an alien and therefore doesn't react like a human and can't blush. Like, it's porn nigga, have her make some sexy faces.
And don't even get me started on the characters from Chain Reaction saying “pop off” instead of “cumming.” Boner genocide.

Yep. I didn't mind much when Jack and Katie kept saying it since both of them are younger than their siblings (and I don't really care for those two so it was whatever), but Julie saying it during the last chapter was pretty eh.
Also agree with the rest. I think Ben and Gwen's first time at the beach chapter was almost perfect, it had the characters reacting, "swearing", blushing and all that, but the rest of the chapters weren't like that and they just became boring
