[District13/Niniのスタジオ] Her Work

I loved the concept and the design. I hope you use it more often.

What a mystery—Yumiko's unexpected return really caught me off guard. This story could end in so many different ways that I can't even predict how it will turn out. I hope the ending is truly visceral.
I have absolutely no idea how this story will end ... I have a couple of theories, but I could be totally wrong. A lot has to do with the "World" VR Software/hardware itself ... is it possible ( in this story ) to actually transport your consciousness into the game? Possibly, Yumiko and her husband were never physically in the game, as he thought originally. He could be the test-subject for the system beta-test ...? Yumiko's sudden appearance makes me think she's been in "our world" all along, and never actually trapped in the game ... just observing her husband's behavior and reactions from some other worksite ...? Of course, that is a somewhat extreme theory ... only her husband's near fatal collapse in V11, spurred her into the visit. Then again, maybe she's become addicted to the Game-World (Rant especially) ... and has chosen to visit the World whenever she pleases ...? Either scenario would make her a cold-hearted bitch.
Hard to say one way or another ... Nini promises some twists and "big" surprises ... so we'll all find out when the truth is revealed.

Have you ever imagined if the real Yumiko had remained in that virtual place, while the consciousness that returned to her biological body was actually another entity, perhaps an artificial intelligence or something similar? Something like Agent Smith when he manages to transcend the Matrix and manifest himself in the real world, taking on a new form of existence.

Wait, so it was actually a virtual game and not real characters? 😭 I genuinely thought they were real people from some parallel universe or something.”
From what the story makes clear, unless there's some kind of twist, it's basically an isekai. But there's definitely something wrong with the husband's head (he's the one telling the story), so he's what they call an "unreliable narrator".

You should have a look at start of episode 1, they explain that after a car accident they both woke up into this virtual world.
My understanding is that Yumiko is division head where she and her team developed software that actually allows the player to experience "the World" in real-time as the player ... VR taken to it's next step, where the player's consciousness inhabits their chosen character. Yumiko & her husband got in an accident during their vacation "road-trip" ( or did they...? ), and her husband believed that they were physically trapped within the game of her design ... for months!
My question is: did the accident even happen at all ... or did Yumiko place a "headset" on Hubby the night before they were to leave, throwing him into the entire scenario: their vacation ... the accident ... being trapped in the "world" ... AND ... has all that occurred, even his return to our World, just been part of a program she herself set up, using Hubby as a beta-test subject, to complete her project? That world make her sudden return to him completely plausible.
Questions, questions, questions ... I guess we'll find out in the near future ...? 🤯

The most disturbing part is the dialogue from characters who haven't even appeared in the story, saying that "they" deserve the punishment and that the "Observer's" brain cells have reached 80%, as if he were a test subject in an even more degrading experiment.

This suggests that the "Observer" deserves the harm he's suffering, as if he's being punished or as if nobody cares about his suffering because they believe he deserves it. On top of that, the voices are male, which makes me think that this "Observer" is actually the protagonist.

In Vision Burglar, this dialogue reinforces that idea. The voices suggest that they're using a version of the sphere stolen from a safe to enter that world. In the same episode, they mention that it's a world made only for the rich and that the artifact they intended to sell was supposed to be in the safe, which makes me think they're thieves or some kind of criminals.

One of them even tells the other to rub the object and enjoy it, suggesting they can either enter that world or simply observe it, just as we see the husband doing.

Nini has included this kind of dialogue at least three times, almost as if he were trying to hint at something: in Vision Burglar (whose canonicity is uncertain) and, at least as far as I can remember, in Vision 9 and Vision 11, always with very similar dialogue.

What's your interpretation of this?

As a long time follower from 8 year ago of D13 serieses from 8muses website , i can confidently say, Ninis work is getting more and more worse . The last best one she delivered was "Insence" . After that Nothing is thrilling like her previous concepts. S#X WAS NOT THE ACTUAL INTENSION FOR D13 SERIES , it was all about story and the thrill . Some of my absolutes Favourites from new her animations are Tiktok , Dance, Teach , insence. She now absolutely forgot how to write story and just working for money. Thats all from me amigoes. :coffee:

So the characters aren’t real? They’re real in the actual world, but not in the virtual world? It’s all just their imagination? And were the scenes where they interacted with Rant also imaginary? Those scenes weren’t real either, and the characters didn’t actually feel anything? I’m so confused lol. 😭

Vision_Burglar is canon ... it's not an alt-universe story like Puppeteer. Next 2 episodes, the cards will be revealed

As far as Sam998's comments ... those are his opinions, which I disagree with; I like Incense ... but the game-format sucked and was a nightmare to edit. The other three, decent enough shorts, that were all about sex ... IMHO, the plots were paper-thin, at best ... but still OK. His opinions about her writing ... I completely disagree ... his opinion, again.

Yes everyone's perspective is different. I was with Nini since her begining and have all her her files from 2018. Me and other fellow from ukrain named "Danylo68" started the D13 cult in 2018 when we are in 8muses website, after the ukrain war that guy was not with us. But i was the only one who keeps on sharing with people. The stories had no names also , we had to keep on guessing and made those names which are saved in your pc now , nini was not good at english that time. Then the website got taken down for some problems (sensor problem). We knew what was the actual intension behind the animations that Nini she makes. ofcourse s#x is a part of story but that not the actual intention behind. I dont speak here cause i knew these things will happend eventually, cause people dont have any favourites from her animations now or the dont even compair ( servey speaks ). People just come and download and 1/2 line gosspis thats all . No conversations from other people about any story beside ojisan (that i respect). There are gazillion animations of s#x on internet, but D13 story was the only thing which made me come back again and again. and now i just come here like once a week see what people are doing and go back to my routing.

I agree and disagree. For me her story back then is really what made me follow her work back in old 8muse. Even though her story telling might be not as much spicy as it used to be but I still like it. Her work still had that "oh this must be d13 work" on it and that's what hook me still.
Tbh even though not a lot of people talking here like the 8muse era or the start of APC . Everynow and then people still popup and talking about her work or new face asking how to find specific one etc. It still really lively. Well until the day she finally lost the sauce that make her work interesting but at present her story still draw in an interes for new or old fans.

My interpretation of what happens is this: it's real in the same way as The Matrix, not "real" like World of Warcraft Online.
In other words, they were actually inside the simulation.

That, too, is distinct possibility. Almost any scenario is possible if the tech Yumiko is working on can actually do what it's supposed to do ... the only reason I might not think that's the case is due to Yumiko's sudden disappearance at the end of V11 ... but, technically, it could be argued that THAT could also be programmed into a simulation ... which puts the entire story in doubt. 🤯

In reference to Sam998's response ... I remember things a little bit differently than he does, especially those who lead the group, as I was there too. I also have files lying around in my archives dated April 2018. Still ... but, this ain't a pissing contest.
I will say his assessment of our group is somewhat correct ... especially since the Pandemic: people as a whole don't interact as much as they used to. Most, but not all, just seem to grab stuff and run. It's called "lurking". In many cases, it's a language barrier ... with others, participation just is not their thing.
But let's face it ... this IS a pirate group and not all can afford to subscribe to Nini. Either way, some like discussion, while others don't. So no foul ...
Whatever the cause, I'm interested in Nini's work ... and so are others. So the "regulars" participate ... while the "silent majority" are "silent" ... (y)

in my vision may be things are not going according to her plan at all.. :censored:
I don't know what else you want? Compared to before, the teasing content in the current stories is much longer. "Billiards" has at least 4 episodes full of teasing, "Energy" is also at least 4 episodes, and now "Vision" has been teasing for a full 9 months. Isn't that enough? Do you want to tease for a lifetime? I think that's completely fine.
