[Erenisch] Art

Bonus: Fuckmuffin Remastered (Part 2/2)

Hey xxfluffydeathxx! I just took a quick scroll through Erenisch's subscribestar and saw a couple more posts featuring Miss Yummycunt and some other characters from The Kennels. I have to admit I am personally a huge fan of Kim, but there also seem to be quite a few fellow Yummycunt fans here in this post, so I am sure many would also be happy to see more of her. Would it be possible to share the photos from those posts here as well? Many thanks in advance!

Genuine question: I don't have a foot fetish, but what makes drawing feet so difficult? E almost always avoids them, as can be seen in the latest artwork.

Hands and feet are both difficult because there are a lot of tricky little angles and curves, and if you get it just a little bit wrong, it's WRONG. Each finger/toe has a particular size and articulation, and can be hard to get just right. Depending on the pose/composition, you don't have to articulate every knuckle or toe, but at the very least, it's kind of time consuming, and unless one is doing a particular thing might be more effort than is worthwhile for a piece. An arm and shoulder might get drawn in 5-10 relatively long, curving lines. A hand, fingers outstretched could be 20-50, smaller more carefully drawn lines to make it look anatomically correct. That's one reason The Simpsons have three fingers and a thumb. Even depicted faces is IMO easier. Feet are generally less effort, but for something like a comic book accurately depicting hands just has to happen. You can't really go long obscuring them without making it obvious. Feet not so much. (See the work/commentary about Rob Liefeld for an example of how folks notice an artist taking short cuts or having deficiencies in their ability to depict feet....)

That said, the example is something of a rough. It's very sketch-like and E put the female character in little booty socks so as to make things go quicker.

EDIT: For example, look at how rough/general the hands are in that same depiction, and check out the pinky on the left hand of the male character. It's just off. You can tell what the goal was there, but fingers don't bend that way when the hand is placed & foreshortened like that. It's an easy mistake to make in a rough, though, and I have no doubt it'd get fixed in a later iteration--if one is going to go to the trouble of revising the sketchwork into a more finished piece.
