Questionable website update

I have a question: what's happening with the site? Why has the design started to change, and why, after these changes, am I not receiving notifications from the topics I subscribed to?

So, if I understand you correctly, the discussions I subscribed to should have changed their status, but they still have the “watch” status, and even if I unsubscribe and then subscribe again, I still don’t receive any notifications.

People might want to re-check their Alert settings. I noticed this afternoon that the site wasn't showing me any alert notifications, even though I could see that some people had 'liked' some of my recent postings. On checking my Alert preferences, I found that they has all be reset, so that no Alerts would be sent to me for anything. Fixed up my settings, and am now getting Alerts again!

Ok, I poked around the settings, changed the site style, and toggled the checkboxes; it looks like notifications are coming through again now. But why the hell did all those settings get wiped, and why didn't anyone say anything? They could have just sent out a mass private messages,no?
