Nicky didn't go to the club; she went to a bar to do shots with her friends. You can see them walking away from the club in this picture. All the suspense with Nikki he built up since chapter 15 was pretty much pointless. Nicky recognized her mom from afar, then Rose entered the club, and Nikki just moved on for no reason without even trying to investigate or at least being turned down at the door because she doesn't have an invitation.
As for Rose, I don't know why she is acting so shy all the sudden. I mean the Pleasure Palace was somewhere she wanted to go for a while, she researched it, hell she even had an invitation. Not to mention she is quite depraved, she watches porn at work and plays with herself constantly. She even let josh do all sort of thing to her to get a video of him and Lucas fucking Lisa, but she is shocked by how strippers are dressed
. So yeah, chapter 16 is off to a very odd plots and subplots.
