One thing you need to consider is the amount of cocaine that John Holmes was freebasing at the time. Amount: lots and lots. That does monkey with your groove. A partner I once had once told me

"The only way to be truly bad at sex is to give up trying" and I've found her words to be largely true.

Like everything we humans do, sex is a skill and it's something some people can be considerably good at with little training while others require a lot more of it.

The biggest problem is that people think that "learning to be good at sex" is an insult at best and an affront against decency at worse. They think that if two people fall in love and jump in bed, then everything magically works itself out. You are half-correct about the fact that there are a large variety of male body sizes and outliers, but it's also VERY common for those outliers to come with costs, such as larger dicks being more difficult to keep erect (the human body only has so much blood in it) and other challenges.

Yes, exactly: it might not be common, but it’s not impossible. Personally, just because I can’t do something myself doesn’t mean I’d claim it’s impossible.

And one should also be cautious with statistics—like saying, "He’s this age and has an unhealthy lifestyle, so it’s impossible." I’ve seen people in my own circle—whether close or more distant—defy the statistics in various areas. That said, to make things more credible, the author could have toned down Ray’s power a little bit...
