I've personally become disillusioned regarding digital distribution, as proper ownership of purchased items aren't honored making it nearly impossible to share/borrow/lend/sell your content; instead you are effectively extended renters and your libraries can be yanked for any reason by said company. Amazon having famously removed 1984 from their site and then retroactively off all kindles that connected, Sony about to delete all their Discovery content and delete everyone's purchases, a CrunchyRoll bonuses removed when it merged with another company, then changes like music being removed from GTA games over 10 years old. It's sickening, and i'm fed with it.
Though a new California law will push places to be more specific you aren't owning anything, i am not sure if that's nearly enough.
It's a good thing i'm a digital packrat.
