At a glance it looks like jpeg files. Using RealSR i can upscale/downscale which should remove most artifacts; (it also takes a very long time, like 5-10minutes per image and a lot longer without a GPU) While it won't be the original files. Though you still have to really zoom in to see the flaws with the jpegs, which are probably compressed 80-85%.

Here's a sample of 765 where i concentrate where it's easy to see artifacts on the girl's elbow. Say the word and i'll set these aside to start processing.

It is a Neural Network yes, RealSR just a public free upscaler i found works, anyone can use it. I'd noticed and gotten the Video2X (compilation of various tools and UI) intended for upscaling video... which has issues, but getting the individual image upscalers has been beneficial. Waifu2X for example (another upscaler) is far faster but great for me upscale pre-rendered low resolution screencap text before doing an OCR pass, fewer errors.

Worst case is it doesn't work... This is not only pixelated but low resolution (1280? Hmm height is just off then). Best results may require multiple passes from different scalers.

I'll post the results of 520 in a few moments.

It's not great... it's not terrible either.
Trying to blend results of waifu and realsr as well, assuming i got the CLI command right. (yeah identical hashes, blending isn't done right... I don't want to do every picture manually)

HI! Thank you yano2mch very much for the interest but it seems to me too big to ask you! 5 or 10 minutes in the image there is a lot of time. The result to see it in fact is really remarkable. I hope that someone will recover those .png. We do this, I look at the network if I find something like I give 10 days of time and then if anything we think together. I really like this story and if it is possible to recover all in HD it would be wonderful. Then just finished paying my debts I will seriously think to support Kizaru3d

Copying the images and letting it work over the period of a day or so, really doesn't cost anything. GPU does most of the work, otherwise it's usually pretty idle. I'm probably spending more getting the OCR done per short story than i am having realSR do the job.

The result to see it in fact is really remarkable. I hope that someone will recover those .png. <snip>
