bad pacing and some inconsistent tones being struck throughout. Starts off as a dramedy with a sniveling brat of a protagonist getting himself in the worst possible situation and then ditches that to become a raunchy parody of a romcom before swinging back heavily into the drama at the very end.

I think it fell apart as soon as sex got heavily involved. The transformation and the journey behind it is ultimately what drives this type of story. Sex should mostly just be a plot device, but it ultimately started dominating the entire storyline and ruined what was a very promising start.

trappings of the genre. I don't mind heavy sex in a sex comic. There are plenty of sexless and/or tasteful erotica if that's your stance towards sex. I don't want to blame the focus on sex as to why this comic kinda fell apart. I think it's just unfocused and that resulted in an engaging beginning before going off the rails. I think the sex got repetitive certainly but I'm not a puritan.

I guess my point is that it did not really start out as a sex comic. For the first 150 or so pages, there was zero sex and the comic was about their arrangement, the transformation, and their evolving relationship (as the title suggests) then it just suddenly turned into sex being the only real plot repeated over and over again.

I personally do not care if there is sex, or even a lot of sex, as long as fits and is not overused. It was quite impactful the first time Kim was horny and started sleeping around, and was impactful again when she cheated on Rex. But then she just did it another 3 or 4 times and it just became predictable and boring with no real purpose other than "sex". Even for sex comics that is boring, and it ends up losing its impact just like if they overuse any other plot device.

I didn't read it from the beginning, i heard a lot of bad things about this comic, so i ignored it

It was rushed. Almost felt like they wanted to get it over with after it went so long and move on to something else.

I do not blame them when it is over 1500 pages long.

It was still solid, but it had a lot more potential to be great.

The Arrangement has become Cblack's third longest work. But perhaps some won't fully appreciate the ending, but Cblack deserves credit for wanting to change up his classic happy ending formula. By making Kim unpopular with some readers and giving her an ending with great uncertainty about what Kim's life will be like in the future.
