No, she explicitly mentions "learning enough Dutch to get by." But French and German would still be very helpful there. Netherlands + Flemish Belgium is a small region with large neighbors; if she runs into people who aren't good in English, there's a fair chance they know either French or German, so she could communicate.

In fact, despite French being taught as a second language in schools, I can wholeheartedly guarantee you that the majority of people in Antwerp can hold a proper conversation in English much better than in French.

If you do not want to be helped in either of the Low Countries, try starting a conversation in German. Ask for your directions in German and you're bound to be sent in the wrong direction.

Dutch is the language spoken in Antwerp. The days where English wasn't taught in Belgian schools have long passed. Young people Ryans age will be more likely to be fluent in English than in French. Of course Ryan won't be infallible so maybe it's just her ignorance showing. It's just a little detail that's so far off.

Block diagrams are still very useful for quickly demonstrating the useful application of new software.
Especially if it's something people have never seen before.
People can get lost in tech jargon.

I don't usually defend cblack's modern works, but in this instance..

Also, don't forget that any schematic showing the components and connections, as well as voltage and amp delivery for any type of motherboard is still using the 'old school' block diagram. It might be old, but thus far, nobody has come up with anything that is both easier to use, and has a more modern approach

this is not quite the same, she showed a Block schemes of an algorithm, the last time I saw this in 2011 in my first year of computer science. Since then, I have made and seen thousands of algorithms. although of course it can still be done in America.

367 pages in without any real progress, I got the feeling that it's gonna be a long, slow burner, with a hasty and way too short ending after way too many pages

Yes 300 pages of ordinary talk it is not even porn comic so far. Was hint on last pages that Ryan can look like different person. I have feeling some impersonation or something, I really don't understand why black think this story may be interesting for tg audience so far.

Agree , the glory of Cblack who was once inspired a lot of people who became successful currently but now he himself become like this ,
There is another one , "infinity sign" who was also very popular that time and on par with cblack, now he somehow lost somewhere.
It is very sad to see this og monarch of their time now crambling like this .
I talked to infinity sign, he has serious financial problem, he said once he offered every work for sell only for few thousand with some agreement contract for work as well but no one responded.

I feel very bad for him that day
