It goes back about 6 or 7 years ago, during
Nini's TK17 days. As much as I loved her works, her earlier stories were frustrating to watch, as they were marred by what I considered sloppy editing and mangled English subtitles. I started editing them for my own personal viewing. I "corrected" abrupt scene transitions and overlaid new English subtitles, so the language flowed better and was more to the intent of her original script (ever watch a poorly translated anime?). In certain
scenes, the lighting was either too bright, or too dark.
Nini went through her "
shaky cam" period, so I tried to stabilize camera POV with editing software.
In the case of Billiards, she released unused video "loops", which I felt would enhance the overall "sex" scenes, and in some cases "extended" those scene where possible, adding sound effects and audio to smooth things out. Sometimes, I color-enhance a scene when it seems too drab, or darken the scene to add a bit
of atmosphere to the proceedings. I always try to capture the
intent Nini's original releases.
Overall, this has become a kind of "hobby" for me. I was encouraged early on by the original "Request Group" over at
8Muses ... so I continued doing so with each new release of
Nini's. She's a much better editor than she used to be, so I don't need to work as hard. I usually prefer
Nini's original-works (afterall, I am a fan),
but these days
Nini seems a bit "rushed" in her presentations, so I can slow things down, so the reader doesn't have to hit "pause" to finish reading text. In the case of
Vision, her latest story, she used some awful white-bordered fonts, which I changed to something less "jarring", so it doesn't detract from her animation.
Finally, the running time length on the
Billiards V1-V11 is
1HR57MIN for the "
fan-edit", and
1HR40MIN on the
original edit. There's a lot more sex scenes, which I know many here enjoy (myself included) For me personally, I would always choose the
original-edit. I you have the HDD space, I recommend both.
They are different animals.

This is why I chose to answer you query this morning instead of last night ... it takes way to long to respond properly to these sorts of questions. I do need my
"beauty-sleep".
