Where to start ...? Overall, the edits are hopefully longer. I'll use
Billiards V11 as an example: the
Original version is
6:30 in length, whereas the "
fan edit" is
14 minutes in length. I start with what I consider "sloppy" edit, scenes that either end abrupty or detract scene transitions. I also look at her subtitles: in all fairness to
Nini, English is not her first language, though it has improved markedly over the years, so occasionally the translations either seem convoluted
or confusing, so I will "adjust" them to make
Nini's intentions clearer and easier to understand. Then I look at the overall flow of the scene; is the setting
too bright, too dark; does the scene seem too static? Those are all personal choices on my part; how would I have composed the scene. The sex scenes
are also altered; in many cases the scenes are generally too short (this is when I think about the group). If there are identifiable "loops", in many cases I will
copy and edit them so the scene will last longer. The sex scene may seem too static, so I can dolly in or out, pan side to side, up or down ... in some instances,
I might enlarge a scene (these are tricky, as resolution, lighting, contrast, color all need to be corrected).
Nini throws us the occasional discarded loops that she decided not to use. I think about whether they can be inserted into the story without disturbing the
flow? So then I need to re-cut the loops (lengthen?), add them to the timeline. This is the tricky part, as the inclusion need to make sense, which in some
cases means slightly altering the narrative and dialog so the scene's insertion doesn't detract from Nini's story. In the case of Billiards, the sound needs to be
rebuilt completely ... since the discarded loops were unusable with existing sound, I dip into my
Nini Sound Library and will use clips from
Nini's earlier
works and use "sex sfx" (moaning, sex collisions, background noise, etc.) and occasionally BGM, as in the case of
Billiards.
One thing I want to make clear about these "fan-edits" ... I do them to suit my own personal tastes. That is why I add the disclaimer to the beginning, then
the plug for
Nini's Patreon Page at the very end. The original is
Nini's intended story ... the "fab-sub" is just that: my twist on her otherwise great story.
When
Nini first started out, she stuck out like a sore thumb, due to fact in the ocean of mediocrity that someone was attempting to make a
story where the characters mattered and sex scenes made sense. It's why I'm a fan of her work.
This is the
last time I go into such detail ...

As an added note:
HDiddy added his comment while I was composing. He's correct ... there IS a lot of shit out there. The question is: do you just what to
whack off ... or do you want to be entertained by a story that encourages that end result?
