How to opt-out notifications?

There are a lot of notifications. If I post a comment then I see a notification that somebody also posted a comment in the same thread. How to opt-out notification if a user just post a comment not reply to me? If I would be interested I can open a thread without any notification. Moreover how to opt-out notification to a specific thread not all of notifications?

Unwatch the thread. You get notifications for watched threads. You can disable this in preferences < content options.
