Here is the sketch for page 147 of Chain Reaction. Alex gives Julie a turn in order to keep things fair as promised.
This week is when I will be doing my monthly work elsewhere, so this will be the only page for the week. I'll be getting started on that after I upload the lines for this page. This month started exactly on the 1st, so it's going to be an early start to that, but sometimes the dice roll like that.
Here are the lines for page 147 of Chain Reaction. As mentioned in the sketch it's time to do monthly work elsewhere, so this is all for now until I do the colors.
Here is the sketch for page 148 of Chain Reaction. Alex continues alternating between girls and now has to decide how he'll start finishing things up.
Took a while to sketch but finally done. I was unsure exactly how much to put into this page, but I feel it's time to start working towards the climax of the scene. Now I line this page then start on the sketch for the next page.
Here are the lines for page 148 of Chain Reaction. Of course a lot of detail from the sketch is lost here since it's reserved for the colors. This page was a lot to line so my hand is feeling a little sore, so I'll just be taking a brief break before I get started on the sketch.
Here are the lines for page 149 of Chain Reaction. Now I color both pages for tomorrow, which should be doable since I just recently woke up so I practically have a full day to do so despite the hour.
Here is the sketch for page 150 of Chain Reaction. Alex runs dry after overworking himself for the girls.
Took me a while to decide how to do this page. I initially tried to fit a little more, but I felt the page was getting overly cluttered so I stepped it back and decided just to go this far. With this the scene should be wrapped up within a few more pages and it will be time to start Sultry Summer back up.
Here is the sketch for page 151. Alex and Julie have succeeded in their task of helping Katie with her sleep. Now all that's left is for Julie to help herself to a little snack then dress Katie back up and ship her off to bed.
Finally done. I was going to stay up to try to line this before finally sleeping, but my hand hurts a bit so I need to call it here. Once I'm back up I'll go straight to lining then coloring.
Here are the colors for page 151 of Chain Reaction. Alex offers to help dress Katie after succeeding in his efforts to help her sleep, but Julie helps herself to a snack before they get her dressed back up.
Barely managed to finish these pages on time but I made it. I want to stretch out my time awake a bit longer so I'm thinking of starting another random illustration to pass the time, so long as I can stay awake throughout.
Here is the sketch for page 152 of Chain Reaction. With Katie asleep and Alex drained, everyone agrees that it's time to head to bed for the night.
Took a long time to get this page done. I was leaning heavily towards just starting with Julie already leaving the room and ending the scene on this page, but I decided it better to do it in two pages so I can show Alex seeing Julie off with some goodnight cooties, rather than just speeding through her already out the door or through the corridor.
Now I rest up then line this page and start on the next one.
Here are the lines for page 152 of Chain Reaction. Would have been done with this several hours sooner, but I woke up today to a power outage that took time to be restored. Oh well, it's done now and I start on the sketch for the next page.
Here is the sketch for page 153 of Chain Reaction. Julie returns to the girls' room with Katie, but witnesses an unexpected guest sneaking in.
With this the latest scene is complete and it is time to return to a scene of Sultry Summer. I have been considering though that I take a week in between where I just do some illustrations to get back in the swing of the characters, but to also give myself a mini break from my main comic pages before I get back to another full scene. We'll see what I go with, but that's the most likely course of action as of now.
Also, my schedule is again super late, so I still have time to get some lining done before sleep. I was rather torn between putting Jack in his hero costume or pajamas, but considering he turns into a cloud form when he flies I figured he doesn't really need the extra "disguise" when traveling alone. I might still change it, but I'll likely keep it as is.
