Here is the sketch for page 318 of Sultry Summer. Lucy impresses Gwen by taking the whole thing, while impressing Ben with more exceptional abilities.
Starting the week off with an easier page to sketch. The second panel may be difficult to see in this stage, but it's her tongue wrapping around him and looping back to the other side. Hopefully it's a bit easier to understand in the colors.
Here are the colors for page 319 of Sultry Summer. Lucy makes quick work of Ben, much to Gwen's surprise.
I had to brighten some of the effect lines for Ben since they were barely visible against the backdrops. Normally I just shift to white in those instances, but I decided to try and just brighten the value where appropriate.
Here is the sketch for page 320 of Sultry Summer. Lucy rushes off after stealing Gwen's snack while Ben is none the wiser.
Got a late finish on this since I was up late finishing my weekly illustration rather than getting my head start. Also, I was planning to do my monthly work elsewhere this week, but this page is meant to go directly into the next one, and the page after is a lot less reliant on a second page, so I'm thinking I will be pushing that back an extra week. We'll see how I feel about that after I finish lining this page.
Here is the sketch for page 322 of Sultry Summer. Ben discovers why Gwen stormed off and goes back to retrieve Lucy,
Ugh, this page took forever to sketch, especially since I made quite a blunder in two frames and had to adjust them. There will also be more details in the background of the 4th panel, but that will have to be colors only as it would become way too cluttered if lined.
It's a bad week for such setbacks since I had some stuff to do today, and have more stuff to do tomorrow. I also need to do my monthly work elsewhere this week, but that will come after I line this.
Here are the lines for page 322 of Sultry Summer. This page took an absolute eternity to line but I finally got it. I also got all my additional errands for the week complete, although it is still time for my monthly work elsewhere, so this will be all for here until the colors on Friday.
Here are the colors for page 322 of Sultry Summer. Ben discovers why Gwen stormed off, and as a result heads back in to find Lucy, missing the fact that he just walked right past her.
As mentioned before, this week is time to do my monthly work elsewhere, so only this update this week. This page took an exceptionally long time to do, and my extra work is turning out the same, but once I'm finally done with that I will start on lining and coloring the Avatar image from last weekend.
Here is the sketch for page 323 of Sultry Summer. Lucy reveals that she overheard Gwen's predicament and drags her away for a surprise.
I really wanted to line and color the Avatar illustration this weekend, but stuff last week took way longer than anticipated, so it dragged into an already busy weekend and prevented me from progressing it. This page should be easier to line and color, and I'm not predicting the next page being much more difficult, so hopefully I have more time this weekend.
For now I line this page then I'll start on sketching page 324.
