Wow, each chapter of The Contact causes my stomach to fall into my shoes and this one is no different. Sire should take solace in knowing that the writing can generate strong emotions in readers.
I keep trying to find any redeeming qualities in these characters but I'm coming up empty (except maybe Diane? I hope she keeps pressing). Ray get away with sprinkling a little truth in with his lies, again. James continues to do and say nothing (even though he said he'd tell her the truth at the end of the last chapter) and Jenna just doesn't seem to care. She learns some of the truth and her response is to proudly and enthusiastically continue to give Ray whatever he wants and team up to continue to punish/torture her husband. No negative consequences for Ray again.
I hope I don't have to wait until the very end for the full truth to negatively affect him, because this constant descent is torture....but I know I'll keep reading
