You think this is bad, you should head over to the Moonlly forum. That patreon creator drops a part of a chapter every 3 to 4 months and makes up excuses like he has been sick, writers block, been busy etc. Yeah, he has like about 5-6 hundred subscibers (used to be over 1K). His content is extremely lazy.

Moonlly sure is lazy but I agree with TTax, Melissa may have good art and is a classic creator in my book, but I think she’s falling apart. I started following her back when she was posting Need for Speed and the original K-Pop. But once she started Aphrodite’s Mirror i stopped. Word on the street was back in July she said that Aphrodite’s Mirror would be 30 chapters long and she’d be done with it by the end of December but we just started Chapter 25, and the previous Chapter took 2 months. Meaning we’ll be lucky if we it finished by August next year. And Sweet Change was supposed to be a short story published ontop of kpop and but here we are 5 months into it getting 20 pages every month on it. Just hopefully that this new year brings quicker production and faster story telling, either way her old work is why i’m still a fan and still following along. But hope she starts picking up the pace

Just searched this creator and damn are they lazy, read their recent comments section and most of the people are just sad and very kind while reminding the moonlly to do better. And the number in the patreon dollar are astonishing to say the least. I remember this skinsuit creator named german00 something and many people were very critical whenever I saw his name popped up anywhere.

The things he said for not updating were mostly about him being sick always, getting into accident and just being sick again. I don't wanna say that their life is not tough but damn do I keep hearing this same sh*t from everyone who's creating TG comic/art.

Like I don't how many time you guys get sick in a year but it's definitely not whole year every year. And honestly I just feel sad for some fan's who are paying creator such as molly to just finish his long running series or just want to see continuation of their work for to see what happens next. After all it's really difficult and sad to see a creator of the story you love and enjoy to disappear and go awal. So I don't really blame those paying for Creators to keep creating and hopefully help their situation however it might be.

But, They really gotta stop procrastinating man! You can sometimes literally tell that the creator is just being lazy. My respect for creator like CBlack was already high but it's even higher now as CBlack is posting consistently every week without fail, and chapter are really dialogue and story progress heavy....sigh if only more creators were like him.

I think the problem is when a hobby turns into a job and the hobby is making trans-themed fetish porn comics you might have difficulties in maintaining creativity.
There is a limit to the amount of times you'll want to write about a vegan guy getting blackmailed into wearing lipstick turning into a bisexual big-titted bimbo who works at a steakhouse as a bikini waitress.

Yeah, this is very true, especially when they stick to closely to the same formula and don't try to just write a compelling character arc—or just have the character progressively begin to enjoy their predicament.

Melissa's stuff has an issue of dragging out the character arcs too much, which just get boring. I also don't think that it helps that the characters wind up being passive in the sex scenes, either. It just isn't exciting to see a character deny being queer while doing queer shit and secretly enjoying it constantly.

Moonlly just needs to let Rika fucking come to terms with wanting to stay a woman already and being into guys. At this point it'd add a ton more material for her to write if she just switched the story to Rika fighting for her own independence. At least then, if the story is going to stretch out there's an actual arc at play that isn't beaten like a dead horse.

I mean...this is only TG-Fiction. Imagine the creators who just create pure porn without any specific fetishes. They might've lot more than this lol.
The niche fetishes are more lucrative, generic porn is so widespread that the market is saturated so while you have more potential customers you also have more competition.
TG comics and stories are a unique genre because as a fetish it isn't as easy to make actual porn of it(bad guy turns into a sexy Christmas elf who wants to fuck all the boys who've been well behaved is kind of hard to cast) so their market is slightly stronger.

He's such a lying scammer. During A Lesson for the Teacher he used to publish at least a post every day when he was making $500/month. Now he is making $6,000/month and posts once every two weeks at best. I would recommend pirating all his content and NOT subscribing to his Patreon, and if you're already subscribed to him I would recommend sharing his content as much as possible.
As a person connected with the industry, I want to express a complaint to critics who appeal to the fact that the author earned little and did a lot, and then starts earning a lot and does little.

I don’t want to upset anyone, but that’s how it works. When you’re just starting out (usually young) you have a ton of energy and time. You can work 24/7 and start creating a ton of content with sleepless hours. And not get paid for it. And you think you need to work better, and you do even more.

And in the end, yes, you get promoted and start getting some money. BUT this was done at the cost of burnout, and by the time you get recognition, you’re already tired, exhausted, having used up all your best ideas, and often no longer so young and deprived of the opportunity to stay up all night, and sometimes already disappointed in yourself, your strengths and your audience.

And now it would seem like it’s high time to start earning properly, but life no longer gives you such an opportunity. Moreover, you are left to compete with those very young people who dream of earning money, but are not yet popular, who outdo your experience with their diligence.

As a result, only a few authors manage to quickly and rapidly achieve success with their debut works, and immediately be able to earn enough money to have the opportunity to rest and recover, and, accordingly, to get to a comfortable schedule without burnout.

I see the same problem as with webcomics. When an author starts trying himself in a new work, he makes short, fascinating sketches that attract attention and make you interested in the project. But over time, the author wants to tell a "story" as a whole, share some plot (as he imagines it unprofessionally), probably wanting something more and hoping to do some more serious work. As a result, fascinating sketches turn into a tedious endless story, which I, as a reader, eventually abandon, because those concentrated ideas that were at the beginning of the project show themselves poorly when trying to stretch them. As examples, I can cite "Modest medusa" or "Erica"

I don't think Melissa's lazy. She's just created a very complicated story that's hard to tell. But of course the author has a lot more motivation when she hasn't achieved a high steady income yet. She's already free from the orders or desires of patrons and makes the story interesting to her.

Aphrodite's Mirror has become more of a all-around thriller instead of the story of how an American Guy ends as a Only-Greek-Speaking Middle-Aged Woman, Wife & Mother of 2 Girls of around the same age "He" was.
