It is just an interpretation that does not explain (and It is just my opinion of course) Why Marina allows all the surgical interventions, for me It was just losy writting with Story which ended with a number of losse ends. After a couple of years even Melissa herself didn't know the direction of the story, that happens once you usually writte porn and then you have a pretension of novelist.
