[Melissa N.] Collection

Melissa’s problem is she makes to much money now so she’s just lazy and has no creativity anymore. She pushes out shovel ware to be active enough to keep her subscribers. Look at K-pop idol. That story was 90% compete like a decade ago but now she is butchering it as a full 3d comic to stretch it out when the original story was very good and just needed art and a grammar pass. And mirror is an abomination that should have ended 2 years ago but we still going
I think you're understating it, Mirror was already finished more than 3 years ago, when the operations and physical changes were completed!

The thing that pisses me off about mirror is it was a really good idea and it was going well before she went completely off rails and needed multiple recaps. A plot board and now almost 5 months of just exposition dumps to even try to explain what's going on and it still doesn't make sense. It's a fetish comic and Melissa lost sigh of that. Just like she has with kpop idol. That story was nearly complete it just needed a 3rd act and an ending. But this is nothing like the original and just feels like a bloated mess. And bestie in the making... My goodness what a disaster. Its almost like she was working with someone in the past and they left and now it's just her and she has no idea what she's doing so she's just winging it as long as the money is coming in . Hate seeing downfalls like this

Man, it's really such a shame for tg/tsf comics to always end up on both sides of pit, be it up or down the ladder. If they don't earn enough they quit or take long hiatuses and if they earn enough, More problems or (excuses) starts coming up. From computer getting broke to health problems popping up. I can literally remember so many such creators giving same reasons that I don't even know what to say. Either they are living like shit and not taking care of themselves or they are just lying.

Not saying melissa is doing that but I mean...it ain't that much better honestly. Like what's with all the stories. Shit is either boring or moving too slow to even enjoy it. Like give me some dialogue man, at least let me get inside the story. But pages and dialogue are so low I read it all in 20 or 10 seconds.

Damn it I wanna go and comment all this rage and disappointed in melissa's comments. But I am not that big of an asshole and also not a paying members, so I can only express it here. Dang it man. The only solution I can think of is if more creators like melissa and litkit pop up and regularly update their stories without it being too much ass and copy paste.

Dannistd is relatively new and stories have also been getting regularly updated but who knows until when that will be lol. So I only hope more creators starts creating for such a thing to not happen. As in every market, a compitition/competitor is always a good thing for the market to be not stale and the company to keep producing the new, exciting and challenging products. And if that doesn't happen...well, Here we are.

I've written extensively about the systemic problems of Telegram comics on numerous occasions. One is that in 90% of cases, the author of the story is the artist. An artist can't master dramaturgy and dialogue, they can't master plot and characters; they can only master beautiful renderings. That's just the way their brains are wired. And using screenwriters is pointless. Because they'll have to share the earnings, and they already make a good living at this level of storytelling.

And someone who can write a plot isn't an artist. And they can't create such attractive renderings that the viewer will notice.

Melissa is the hospital queen at least once every other month she is on the hospital for one thing or another lol I’m not gonna call her a liar but if anyone else I know is in the hospital as much as she is they are usually dead.

Danni took a long hiatus and almost didn’t come back but fan demand and a vacation brought them back and is producing good content.

Litkit is probably the only artist o can think of that didn’t fall into the popularity trap yet. Has high followers makes a lot of money but still puts out good content and the current story Latina in Need is actually interesting and makes progress every update. Some may not like the over done characters and the artist has actually taken the feedback positively and is working on it. But litkit actually has a higher sub count than Melissa and still puts out good work

Chloraphile doesn’t miss either but I don’t think they make big money like the others

Excuse me, what's that you said? Artists are incapable of writing, and writers are incapable of doing good art?

Tell that to Will Eisner, Hugo Pratt, Carl Barks, Art Spiegelman, Walt Simonson, Rumiko Takahashi, Milo Manara, Bill Watterson, Katsuhiro Otomo, Guido Crepax, Hergé, Jim Starlin, Walt Kelly, Charles Schulz, Jeff Lemire, Walter Harriman, Darwyn Cooke, Howard Chaykin, Moebius, Keith Giffen, Jeff Smith, Mike Mignola, Mike Allred, John Byrne, Frank Miller, Paul Chadwick, Jack Kirby, Dave Sim, Geoff Darrow, Stan Sakai, Don Rosa, Hal Foster, Alex Raymond, Winsor McKay...

Literally This bro! 🤣 I knew not to reply when I saw that comment, as others would definitely have far better response than me lol. Buddy really didn't think before he pressed post.

It feels like we are in such a dry spell for creators while all the old creators have slowed down to a snail pace. Anyone that becomes successful at all make a big point of being large enough now to quit their day job and focus on making content but then 3-6 months later the release rate just goes away. I mean I won't lie it seems like a sweet gig just chill each day barely working a few hours and collect free money every month for years. And patreon members just don't seem to care almost nothing will get a huge portion of them to unsub even if you stop posting all together. I don't really feel like anyone new has popped up in awhile either it kinda sucks

I agree – I overgeneralized. My apologies. But I hope you understand the difference between the creators in the example, working in teams, and the enthusiasts who create trans porn. I mean, if someone has such talent, they're more likely to take on larger, more serious projects and find a studio job rather than focusing on 3D porn renderings. Even if they wanted to, such hobbies wouldn't reflect well on their image, so those with the talent to work in a studio will stay away from Patreon for gender bending and anal sex. Our creators, however, are in the market precisely because of their talent and courage. But I'll also give a few exceptions here... (InCase, Sunstone)

I'll give you the answer to that question: burnout. It happens when they start devoting all their time to it. After all, professional comic artists and animators work in teams: editors, assistants, co-authors, outliners, colorists... All that stuff. It helps clear your head and get an outside perspective. But when you're so immersed in your project, your head starts to spin.

Yea the issue just comes down to patreon again. If it wasn't for patreon they could take breaks and then work on big projects with more of a plan. But patreon gets them by massive amounts the most money so it is what it is. Making 1 book on patreon over the coarse of the release make people pay hundreds to thousands of dollars for one book that nobody not even the people that are currently subbed to them would pay all at once for that same book.

Apologies accepted.

I think you missed my point. Each and every one of the names I listed (not an exhaustive list by far, I just remembered two more notable names... Terry Moore and Quino) has shown to be fully capable of doing first-rate work *without a team*. They write, draw, often ink, sometimes letter and color, occasionally even publish and sell their stories.

I understand what you're talking about (but perhaps I'm not conveying my meaning clearly enough, given that my text is being translated). I'll summarize with my next message:

You're right – they STARTED alone. I mean, they started. I disagree with the claim that you expect a professional creator to work from an amateur who's learned how to do feminized facial morphing and makeup. Because if they had such skills, they would find themselves in more creative outlets than niche porn. But precisely because porn is so niche and self-sufficient, they have no motivation to improve their dramaturgy skills, much less work in a team with screenwriters.

The opposite is also true. Someone who could simultaneously write a psychological TG story and also have the skills to illustrate it would likely find a more widely publicized way to showcase their creativity.

This, of course, stems from Western society, which heavily stigmatizes porn. Take the creator of Hellsing—he started out with hentai and ended up creating one of the most significant manga of his generation. But in the West, if you're noticed for a story where the boss turns a young intern into his latex bitch, you'll never get projects. So, even if you wanted to, you'll keep your talent away from that genre.

I think a large part of why artists tend to drag out stories like melissa has with mirror is because they recognize a large part of their subscribers are only there for that specific story and they're afraid once it's over they'll lose a large chunk of their income when they unsubscribe. Which is probably true but then when they've got their next great story i'm sure a lot would return and/or gain new subs

Another artist explained to me this was a fear he had when his most popular comic was ending and it made a lot of sense to me tbh. Melissa has been around long enough i'm sure she's witnessed exactly that happen a few times when she wrapped up a comic. I'm sure she's enjoyed having a more consistent sub count and reliable income rather than more sporadic some months great, some not so great. Even if the cost of that means becoming stale

I object! Melissa N's Mirror storyline lost its charm YEARS ago! If she really wanted to continue a popular story, she should have realized that Mirror isn't as popular as it was a few years ago! Oh man! I'm realizing again that for years now, that thing has just been about pointless CHATTER! Does anyone remember when it was still a TG-Story? Or have those who do remember already died of old age?o_O

That's valid I unsubbed because I just couldn't take it anymore it was starting to feel kike she was just stealing my money and now we are at the point we're 1 chapter is getting 10 parts and it's just exposition dumps .. there has been anything erotic in that comic in almost 2 years

the last part of chapter 28 - enjoy
