The site mrdeepfakes.com has just been shut down. A statement on the site reads:


Shutdown Notice

A critical service provider has terminated service permanently. Data loss has made it impossible to continue operation.

We will not be relaunching. Any website claiming this is fake. This domain will eventually expire and we are not responsible for future use.

This message will be removed around one week.​

mrdeepfakes.com was the world’s most-visited deepfake website. On X (Twitter) the user Bellingcat reported on January 28th 2025: “The most notorious marketplace is MrDeepFakes, a website that hosts tens of thousands of videos and images, has more than 640,000 members, and receives millions of visits a month. The explicit content on MrDeepFakes has been viewed almost 2 billion times according to STRG_F analysis”

I started posting deepfake AI pictures there after the 8muses forum shut down.

I suspect the shutdown might have something to do with the Take Down Act that was just past. Webhosting companies etc. may already be taking action.

I think the Take Down Act is mainly directed at revenge porn, and deepfakes were the person creating the fake knows the subject getting deepfaked. I think celebrities should be fair game, especially if they have over 120k followers on Instagram. That was the rule at mrdeepfakes.

Our forum here has a thread for AI celebrity deepfakes. But I will hold off posting there and see what happens. I don't want AllPornComix to get taken down too. Maybe the moderators should be on the lookout for increased deepfake postings.

Maybe other sites will spring up in other countries. The Porn Dude has a list deep fake porn site. Does anybody here visit any of them?

Does not MrDeepfake maintain that their content is meant for “entertainment purposes only”? In reality, deepfake pornography – particularly that which includes celebrities – is likely to be highly exploitative, unethical, and damaging?
