Kindle Unlimited has a policy where if your KU-specific content is available anywhere on the web outside of Amazon, you can lose your account. Kindle Unlimited books have to be available only Kindle Unlimited

Amazon doesn't do anything about pirating though. So if you have an author on Amazon who is on Kindle Unlimited, posting their stuff on forum boards will eventually get the author banned

Nikki used to have most of her titles on Amazon on the Kindle Unlimited program

What's crazy is that if she is banned, how come I still have all of her books in my Kindle Library that I can read whenever I want?

It's because of the terms and conditions with Amazon

Even if the author goes down, so long as you purchased it legitimately and never removed it from your cloud library, you'll be able to keep it

If you remove it from your cloud library, you won't be able to repurchase it

It's the same case for when a non-banned Amazon author delists their book. You'll still have access to the book.
