Mark is eighteen, shy, soft, and the proud manager of a quiet neighborhood supermarket. He has never been kissed. He has never gone out. The aisles are the only place that feels like his. Then jamie starts coming in. The rising model. Magazine face. Body that looks illegal under fluorescent lights. First with his stunning girlfriend. Later alone ā mesh tops, leather, shorts so short they barely exist. Mark tells himself he isnāt gay. His hands still shake on the shelves. At night he opens the magazine and takes what the store wonāt give him. One afternoon jamies pretty fingers close around an old womanās wallet. Mark sees everything.
