Given what we've seen so far, I think this could be a very interesting situation if PS takes advantage of it.

Reading a little about adopted children and the law (though, I insist, I'm not a lawyer and I don't know if this is possible), and given that Kate (the biological daughter) has mentioned "prostitution as a crime" in the state where they live, it could happen that the adoptive father decides to name Devon the primary heir in his will, overriding the biological daughter (although the adoptive mother must also be taken into account). This would change the relationship between all the characters.
