[Pigking/CrazyDad] Comics

It's always hilarious to me when they spend all this effort and the protection is bypassed in a few minutes...

Like when they disabled PDF downloads, it took me 47 seconds to bypass it

They need to hire a professional security firm but even then, it will be bypassed. That's if the move is even related to "securing" the site

I had discovered that the PDFs weren't encrypted, so with a URL I just changed the comic number, month, and year, and it would download. They fixed it with the current website.

It was the same thing back in 2020 with the images. There was the same pattern with the year and month and then you needed to just add a suffix # to get all the images for free since they were all called PageXX-XX

With the release of FS80, under Teddy's supervision, things seem clear. From my perspective, JB has left the PK's Team (perhaps for financial reasons) and Teddy is taking over his publications. So yes, as FR announced, the publication schedule will drastically slow down, and for good reason... Teddy is now almost entirely on his own, and he's no "superman." So, good luck to him... šŸ’‹ šŸ’‹ šŸ’‹

Hmm. I hope they release the next chapter of Margarethe soon; without screwing up what was built in last chapter. Lately all pigking products are getting abrupt ending of cliffhangers from previous chapters.šŸ™„šŸ¤¦šŸ½ā€ā™‚ļøšŸ˜®ā€šŸ’Ø

Frank Romano posted a message on the site explaining that he would decrease the posting frequency due to a drop in revenue and supporters at PigKing. The topic itself is controversial, and I am saddened by Juanito Brown's departure; he was a hardworking artist who always tried his best regarding visual quality, accepted criticism well, and truly sought to improve. I hope he returns to the team soon.

When I look at PigKing's older works, I notice that the major boom in supporters occurred precisely during the period when PigKing rendered in the 1:1 format. One could say PigKing's fame came from this era. After adopting the new 16:9 format, a series of questions began to arise regarding render quality and character positioning. For comparison, we can look at Family Sins and see the "before and after." I am using Family Sins 80 as an example, which is the work of Teddy—PigKing's best renderer. Despite all the updated plugins and attempts to improve the final aesthetics, it is clear that the older 1:1 works, even with outdated plugins, were still superior in terms of visual quality and finish.

Technical Analysis: 1:1 vs. 16:9

It is impossible not to question the lack of quality in the renders and the decline in supporters. When readers revisit old works, they realize those projects were factually better in terms of framing and render quality. This leads to a fundamental question: why not return to the 1:1 format if there is such a clear correlation between that format and quality?

  • Pixel Density and Focus: In 1:1, the rendering power is concentrated on the character. In 16:9, the hardware must process a much larger area of scenery, which often dilutes the detail on the skin textures and facial expressions.
  • Composition: The 1:1 format forces a foreground focus, increasing immersion. In 16:9, characters often lose their realistic "presence" and start looking like porcelain dolls because the focus is spread across a wider landscape.
  • Lighting Efficiency: Managing light in a square format is more precise, especially in dark scenes, preventing the "blackout" effect often seen in wider renders.
No matter how much Teddy strives to present the best work possible with his hardware—and he is the best in this regard—nothing he does will be comparable to the visual quality and immersion of the 1:1 format. Persisting in this error does not seem like a profitable idea. Imagine the level of rendering the 1:1 format could reach today with updated plugins.

I like you and I respect your analyses, even though I have no technical expertise in them. Now, comparing one format to another is all well and good, but it's like talking about film versus digital. The choice has been made, and it seems that going back isn't an option, so we have to accept it and not look back and say, "It was MX before." Let's work with what we have without hoping for a return to another format.

I don't remember exactly, but back then, there were a lot of requests to make it compatible with smartphones. I think it'll probably go back to the old format at some point.

I'm going to be honest here and say that 99% of us (readers) are strangling the rooster when reading these comics. I don't doubt that some people actually use their phones to carry out said activity, but as someone who's tried it and didn't find it too comfortable, I don't understand why that would've been the prevailing reason behind the change.

Personally, I like to be sitting in front of my computer, comfortably switching windows between 5-6 PK comics. Try doing that on a smartphone. :ROFLMAO:

When I said, they need to prioritize the five or six posts that get the most traffic so that the site retains its subscribers and attracts new ones… what is it that you didn't understand ??? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

That makes sense, too :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: . I also prefer the old-school style with some internal panels—like having a few panels within a scene. For example: an open scene with a close-up panel of the character’s face, showing their reaction, just like in superhero comics. It takes a little more work, but it looks really cool.

It would be amazing to see Claire like that, she’d look incredible. šŸ˜… Just kidding, though—don't feel pressured if you're not up for it. Everything in due time.😌
