Starting off, let's go back, way back, to the 1880s. Some of these were in better condition than others. Some of these ladies look almost modern.

Next up, moving ahead to the 1900s, almost within living memory. What fun some of these women must have been; I should have liked to meet them. Imagine what they would think about their intimate photographs being seen and enjoyed more than a century after.

In the 1940s, more and more cameras entered homes and of course, we all know that one of the first things any new tech is used for is for porn. As Kodak flooded the market with Brownies during the first half of the 1900s, other makers entered the market with numerous cheap knock-offs or truly prestigious brands. The offshoot was that personal photography was a thing and it was accessible to anyone. As the more affluent began recording their moments, thoughts turned to the bedrooms of the world...

Servicemen home from the war returned home with new idea of what was hot and exciting after visiting the brothels of Europe...

So now let us all fondly remember our parents, grandparents, or great-grandparents (depending on your age ;-) ) and that multitude of aunts and uncles enjoying themselves in piles of slippery skin wet with bodily fluids and secretions, banging away as though there were no tomorrow remembered only in their preserved Kodak Moments.

And then there were the "fast girls" whom everyone loved and secretly treasured, but were never taken home to meet mom...

The 40's brought new ideas and loosened mores throughout society. The advent of wartime rationing made many young ladies willing to do things they would never have considered were it not for the scarcity of household commodities and luxury items. Gasoline, meat, sugar, and many other items were rationed. Silk stockings were almost unobtainable unless you were very, very well-off if only because silk was a war material used for parachutes and the black market was soooo expensive.

Some young ladies entertained any request to get that extra ration ticket or some stockings in return...

Well, I suppose it was more than just, "some" girls...

And some young ladies fulfilled the requests just for the fun and excitement. Depending on their "benefactor's" financial status, these encounters were sometimes recorded for posterity using the new and very expensive color film...

Harder to identify are images from the end of the 19th century; they are almost modern, but with a sense of old-fashioned sensibilities, especially concerning hair or clothing. These were mostly recovered from antique shops and the occasional boot sale, garage sale, or a surprise find in storage auctions.

Some more recent beauties, from around the midpoint of last century. Some are artsy, some look more like the photographer's wife. The things that turn up at garage sales, no?

It was not unheard of for troops at the front to receive care packages from home in addition to those distributed by various charity and aid organizations on all sides. But those packages from home often had little extras to remind them why they were fighting.

Sometimes packages and letter arrived, sometimes they were lost or captured, or the recipient was captured and his belongings stolen, or worse, they died and their body was stripped of valuables.

Many photos promising joy and happiness on both sides ended up in the wrong hands...

Many cameras were recovered from Nazi soldiers in WW2, especially in the Europe. Some of the film was never turned over, but kept and brought back, stashed away in attics for decades and forgotten. These are some of the things that were found; apparently weddings were disrupted and wives held captive with some frequency.
