[Santo Fabbro] Random Images

Just Sergio and Mia peacefully sleeping while I'm testing bunch of new render/lighting settings so that the interior and exterior lighting is more compatible with each other.

When your realtime renderer takes over 6 minutes to render one image, you know you're doing something wrong.
But it made me realize I might have to rework some of my story plans because if it will go on like this, I'm not willing to do as many outside scenes as I wanted to.

I expect to see shadows from the grille and curtain on the floor, but there are none. Can you tell me how that works?

Filling the interiors is great, it's a lot of work. Do you model the filling yourself?

When I was experimenting with the windows glass I turned off shadows for the whole window and curtains and then I apparently forgot to turn the shadows back on and never noticed. Awesome observation. Thank you very much.

No, I don't model the room filling myself.
There are few exceptions for some simple things (like the posters, shelves, bed blankets, etc.) which I do make myself but most of the models I use for the rooms are from DAZ Store. Although sometimes they need some fixing like removing double faces/vertices, fixing UVs, reducing the vertex density, etc...
Textures are not mine as well, although I try to downscale and/or channel pack the textures whenever I can to boost the performance.
But for 90% of the models I have to make a whole new material because usually either the DAZ->Blender importer I use doesn't import the materials properly or they're just setup non-optimally to begin with.
So in the end, even when I'm not making the room filling models myself, there's always still plenty of work I have to do on them myself to make them work without freezing my PC on every render.
 
Oof, today was rough.
I had big plans but then I spent all day just fixing props and clothes of all the new characters. And every time it seemed like I'm done, I found more nonsense my past me messed up...
So now I just want a cute pretty girl to smile at me. 😌

I disabled shadows in the visibility tab in the object properties but I use Blender (with Eevee renderer) for everything, not DAZ. I use DAZ only to create new character shapes and export assets to Blender.

Lately I'm not working directly on the comics at all. Although preparing assets for the new comics should probably count as well I guess so technically I am working on the new comics.
Anyway, I don't spend any fixed amount of hours working on 3D stuff so it's hard to tell. I just spend most of my free time on 3D things. I'd say for most days it's over 8 hours but I never really timed it so I don't know exactly...
 
Looking at Jane like this also makes me wanna eat something. Maybe some big meaty sausage.
I also wanted to see her with a pussy for once. I'm sure it would look better if I'd make some texture for it but I'm not even gonna bother with that.

Making the room was actually quite fun.
Sure I spent too much time (probably few hours) on just the wine and glass but if you've ever worked with Eevee renderer, you know how much of a pain it can be to deal with glass and liquids...

Lily's face has been bothering me for so long but now I finally gathered enough courage to redo it from scratch.
I don't know if anyone prefers the old (left) face but I definitely find the new (right) one much more pretty and cute. 😊

I don't think I'm good with modern room design but this looks pretty good to me. (don't mind the lightbulbs)
I got some ideas about the other rooms of Jane's house so I will continue working on that for now.

Hopefully I will take that break tomorrow and finally go play The Last of Us for the first time. I've wanted to play it ever since it came out... 🙂

So I got to play TLoU1 for a bit and damn, I knew what would happen in the prologue because of a video I've seen years ago and yet I cried my eyes out.

The athmosphere is awesome. I wish my renders would look as good...

Lately I find it really hard to enjoy video games again so I wouldn't even complain if that happened.
In the worst case I will spend like a week or two playing it (during which my fans would have to find something else to masturbate to; what a nightmare) and then I will go back to 3D, hopefully a bit less prone to burnout and stuff... :)
 
I can't believe I haven't finished the game and I'm already doing this...
I haven't spend much time on her but she's already looking pretty decent if you ask me.
Or at least her face is... for a Blender Eevee render...

So... I finished The Last of Us today...
I don't really know what to think about the ending...
I don't want to spoil anything but it kind of feels like the ending is bound to make me feel bad no matter what Joel does...
