I'm not sure, but I have ideas. Possibly a story of their first meeting where Karl recruits Patty. I have a pretty good prequel story to the Cock of Osiris with Jane and Patty. I'm debating having Karl participate in Operation Valkyrie and get severely injured in the bomb blast trying to kill Hitler. The nazis leave him alive as he's completely broken. Patty begs Jane for help and they take him to the Vril well to heal him.
