The awards season is upon us. Leilah and GiGi did not anticipate that the hacienda they rentedin the center of a quaint village south of the border might not beequipped with a washer and dryer. So they had to go old school,washing their clothes in a tub and drying them on a clothesline onthe balcony over the central plaza.
Before long the sounds of a strolling mariachi band begin to reachthe second floor, and GiGi realizes suddenly that they are beingseranaded in full view of a gathering crowd. Arriba!

Late in the evening at the favorite gathering spot for stars andwould-be stars, studio executives, politicians and gangsters, theStarlette Sweetheart chorus have stripped down to pasties after theirexhuberant floor show, and will mingle with the guests while the bandtakes its break before the finale.
The girls will pose for photos and chat up the guests, hoping tocatch the eye of a producer or a casting director, although previousencounters for most of the dancers have resulted in different sortsof adventures that do not make it to the big screen. But in thetechnicolor Hollywood of the 1950s there is always hope for a happyending.
