I should think its pretty obvious about what is going on. An artist discovers that their work is being posted publicly after release to subscribers leading to one of two things depending on motivation. First, they decide to stop producing and earn a livelihood some other way. Second, they mitigate losses within an existing platform by slowing down new releases and/or making up excuses for delays to recoup loses from existing subscribers. The time saved in delay is used to develop new projects that might be released under a new name within the same platform or possibly the same name under a new, more secure platform.

People get sick, people die, they go through traumatic events and their perspectives/values change. There are a million reasons why someone might quit or stop producing this kinda stuff. It could be something as simple as they lost access to whatever device they used to create on and don't have the money to adequately replace it. Could also be that they got tired of the story and decided to milk their sub money before falling off the map.

It sucks that they went dark and I get that if you were enjoying their work it's frustrating but it's weird that the discussion of this stuff is always lacking nuance.

What I was trying to say...perhaps not as clearly as intended...is that creators have very different motivations and levels of equity sensitivity for doing what they do. It helps explain why some people are altruistic and will do thing things for others with no expectation of return and why others will be act out of self-interest only. Creators who have been around awhile with a larger subscriber base and more to protect may have different experiences for how a subscriber base can be expanded through broader exposure of their work in forums like this. All things aside, this is pure speculation and there could be any number of reasons, If I recall correctly, Izumisan indicated a person emergency or something like that and I can only hope s/he is ok. Query why subscriber forums like Patreon don't have minimum standards for posting content, failure of which leads to a hold on subscription fees?

I'm sorry but I just truly can't find it in myself to get outraged about this. The tiers that Izumisan had on their Patreon were $4 and 7$. They last posted a chapter in January, which means they've been engaging in "pure thievery" for February, March, April, and May. If you were a $4 sub that means you have lost a total of $16. $7 sub has lost $28.

I'm not endorsing Izumisan's behavior if they truly are just milking these forgotten subs with no intention of ever returning but I'm not white knighting for someone else's wallet when they haven't cancelled 4 months into radio silence. And all of this assumes that something nefarious is happening instead of maybe something tragic or reasonable. We have no idea what happened so excuse me for not jumping to the worst conclusion over erotic feminization comics lol.

Just like Moonlly. In Moonlly's case: six months of zero content, but took over 6K from his "patrons". It's a grift, for sure. The serial milkers are bad enough, but at least they offer something in a timely manner, even if it's mostly unreadable vanilla garbage so their Patreons don't get shut down and they can keep grifting too.

Again, I'm not gonna pocket watch over people who haven't canceled their subs. You keep assuming that Izumi is actively trying to scam and I'm just choosing to err on the side of caution. The truth is unknown to both of us and yet here you are calling them a scumbag engaging in pure thievery.

All I'm saying is that their last post was about having a family emergency and traveling. A million things could have occurred to lead to this situation and I think it's in bad taste to assume they are just grifting or milking their subs without any actual evidence to point to that. Maybe they didn't pause it because they rely on that income and they thought they would be back producing in a timely fashion. They could have lost their belongings, they could be in jail or otherwise incapacitated, they could be dead.

I'd also like to reiterate what Monoinka said about the way Patreon doesn't monitor or step in to stop creators that go months without posting content or updates. There should be a built-in system for people to ask for a refund or get accountability when a creator abandons their subs for whatever reason. Anyway, all this to say maybe extend some grace instead of assuming the worst.

I really enjoyed the story but gave up sometime ago on its continuation. If it were to resume that would be outstanding. Maybe it reappears under a new title and/or author name - those interested might explore that possibility.

I don't think there was going to be a lesbian dynamic. Mia wasn't really into having sex with his/her girlfriend anymore and Mia's roommate was banging random dudes on booty calls.

Damn...we are probably never going to see this story finish. Sad that it's just going to be left like that. The story definitely had some deep characterization that I was looking forward to reading.
