[IzumiSan] TG/TSF Comics

No, there hasn't been a single word from the creator since the last chapter.

This was supposed to be the release schedule:
  • 6th January: Runaway Chapter 18.2
  • 12th January: Runaway Chapter 18.3
  • 19th January: Conflicted Change Part 2
  • 28th January: Runaway Chapter 19.1
18.2 was delayed days to the 9th and nothing after that.

If this is going to be another Moonlly situation, I'll probably stop my subscription after February.
It could be the same person.

It could be the same person.
I doubt that. Definitely not the same person.

Moonlly would not hide this if they were running an account separately.

As Moonlly rant that they need money and openly confessed about scamming people as they are helpless to their financial situation yet lazy enough to work on latest FS updates.

The style is different, but the situation is sad.. in fact, there are few authors on TG topics who use koikatsu.

Okay, well, I think it's the same person. Just a scammer. I think a lot of them are doing it: one account for trans fantasies, another for something different, it's just about the money.

The only similarity is in art style but everything else is completely different. Unfortunately I just think Izumisan is probably just burnt out or going through some other form of hardship. The sheer amount of pages they include in every update is crazy. There's a reason why most of these artists stick to 20-30 pages per update.

and the art style only looks similar because they use koikatsu which a bunch of other people use also lol.

She just posted an update. What did it say?

Hey everyone,

First of all, I’m so sorry for the lack of updates this month. I had to urgently travel to my hometown due to a family issue, and at the time, I thought I’d only be gone for a few days. Because of that, I didn’t bring my laptop, knowing I wouldn’t be able to work much with family around. But things took longer than expected, and my stay ended up being extended.

I just got back today and have already started working again. I know the schedule got completely messed up, and I feel terrible about it. I’ll do my best to catch up on everything as soon as possible!

As for Runaway Chapter 18.3, I had already started working on it before leaving, and now I’m finishing up the remaining pages. It should be available in 2-3 days!

Again, I’m really sorry for the delays and any disappointment this may have caused. I appreciate you all more than I can say!
❤️

I guess they don't own a phone either and can't take it to post a 5 seconds message saying "emergency came up, next chapter delayed"

People can respond to emergencies in less than ideal ways. I think a little grace should be extended when you don't know what people are dealing with. The frequency with which creators disappear or delete their work has kind of created a bit of general animosity when they go radio silent for longer than normal.

Izumisan is definitely doing some Moonlly shit. If you think about it, if this is the same creator, he will move on from this comic, create another patreon and comic and start up again all awhile collecting them simp sub money from two other accounts. Pretty damn good racket if you think about it. The simp subs will never leave like the moonlly patreon. The Izumisan account doesn't really as many subs, but if the creator is stringing them along, it adds up. Like the last post stated that he is going to be getting back on track. About 20 days ago and nothing. Nobody leaving any F U comments to him either. Most of them are "hope you're doing okay." F that, let this bozo have it in the comments and stop simping for him.

instead of peddling conspiracy theories maybe you should put some of that creative imagination into replacing Izumisan or Moonlly. Write a story about a patreon scammer that gets their just desserts lol maybe it'll be cathartic for you.

Here is an unpopular but very real possibility - Maybe the lack of security for the creator's intellectual content makes it hard for them to make a living under their pseudonym, especially if their content is made publicly available moments after it is released to subscribers. Unwilling to release new material under conditions of diminishing or entirely evaporated returns, they either stop or create a new pseudonym under a new account to gain fresh followers. While starting over isn't ideal, the lack of visibility of the new pseudonym allows the creator to more fully reap the returns on their intellectual content. Yet another explanation is that creators are forced to take on full time work and have less opportunity to develop content. The overall lesson here is that the content well will run dry unless there is some delay like 1-2 weeks after a release date before its posted. And before anyone tells you that free public access increases a creator's exposure and hence revenue stream, ask two questions - are they a creator themselves to validate such a conclusion - and why would people subscribe to content they can get for free? The second point is only solved by a waiting period that allows subscribers access to content that is not otherwise available to the public.

Keeping on top of producing content and having to crosspost it to multiple platforms on a delay from the money making ones sounds exhausting. I agree with the idea of a waiting period but the length of exclusivity is generally too long which is why forums like 8muses and APX exist. The only way to stem the tide of your content being leaked is to release it yourself like 10 days later. Creators are stuck between a rock and hard place anytime they have to slow down. Eventually most will burn out or disappear.

I truly doubt that Izumisan is the same person as Moonlly and I don't think going radio silent to people paying you is okay either. Hopefully whatever they are dealing with gets sorted out and they can continue to make content.

MyMoonlly frequenty uses onomatopeoia like *thump* *sweat* *blush*, these never appear in Izumisan's work. MyMoonlly also uses a lot of phrases like "HoHo", "HuHu" that are absent from Izumisan's dialogue, which indicates they are likely in different localities. A surprising number of MyMoonlly's speech bubbles start with "OH-" or "GOSH-" which also does not jive with Izumisan, who tends to mostly feature "Uh," or "Yeah".

A whole lot of MyMoonlly's speech on a page starts with a stutter or pause, which Izumi san rarely does. And MyMoonlly indicates a stutter with a dash and a space (T- Thanks!) where Izumisan uses no space (T-Thanks!). Izumisan also uses much smaller speech bubbles with a LOT more dialogue.

Izumisan has much more detailed backgrounds and settings than MyMoonlly. Just look at the walls to see what I am talking about. Izumisan also uses much smaller speech bubbles with a LOT more dialogue. Finally, Izumi will use multi-panel images and other technigues other than a single panel image with mostly blank walls and unadorned structures in the background.

These differences are consistent across 1500+ pages of work from each author. It would take an insane amount of work and attention to detail to fake, especially being consistent hiding habits like the the way MyMoonlly indicates stuttered words. If you were doing this to avoid working on your main story it would sure seem weird to put that much extra work into it.

And for perspective:
In the last 15 months MyMoonlly has released 2 out of 57 chapters of Forever Summer. They only paused their $13,000+ billing for one month during this time. So close to 500 people paid this creator a total of $20,000 for producing 4% of a still-unfinished story.

Meanwhile, in the last 13 months Izumisan has produced 18 chapters of content consisting of 1600+ images. They have produced more pages of content since December 2024 than MyMoonllly has produced since December of 2023. I feel like on the basis of this they should be given the benefit of the doubt for now.

When is it safe to assume that Izumisan abandoned their project?
About 250 subscribers, nobody really leaving. I assume this creator is going to sprinkle in a post about every so often like the Jan 30 post apologizing, saying they are back on track, and then not post any content stringing the subscribers along. Patreon should have a rule on creators that if they don't post any content and get reported, they have to refund all subscribers back their money.

I could be wrong, but I believe it was around 350 subscriber 1 month ago.

As for myself, I've stopped my payment a few days ago and will only resume if and when new content is posted.
