Revenge for what she got herself in this mess being a hoe lol
Of course she did. But she's not the type of person to accept her fate. Whether she's likeable or not, keep in mind that Kim has proven to be a cunning person. So expect her to escape her current predicament and get back to Rex.

Assuming Red would even want to once he finds out everything that went down for real

And she's back to her old tricks... Seems she hasn't learned a thing, but she will, oh yes, she will...

I sincerely hope Kim manages to redeem herself, but in one episode, I don't believe it will happen.

I do not think this story has a redemption arc. I think it is going to be that Kim gets what she deserves and is left with nothing. At best she may just enjoy her new fate in blissful ignorance, which is what I predicted would happen many chapters ago.

Let's hope so. Not every character deserves redemption, and Kim certainly hasn't shown any cause for deserving it.

Is this the end of Rex storyline? I hope not because I definitely wanted more from his part of the story. And just leaving it like this is... rather underwhelming to say the least.

Just a possibility for the final chapter:
Rex's wedding takes place, and Victor attends with Kim. When Kim sees Rex, the "spa conditioning" breaks down. As Victor mentioned in the previous chapter, if the conditioning fails, she will be delivered to his nephews to work the streets. This brings the story full circle, echoing the themes of The Fisherman and His Wife by returning to the beginning.

I'm sure CBlack has had this ending finished for a while but the rapidity with which Kim/Kimiko is brought to her knees is shocking. Kim spent what feels like 1000 pages manipulating Rex and avoiding consequence and CBlack spends like 100 pages on her downfall. It feels unsatisfying because it's rushed. Why no scenes set in the reconditioning facility?

Kim is also so thoroughly outmaneuvered by Gloria into this position and that felt like deus ex machina. Rather than have Kim's house of cards come tumbling down because of her uncontrollable greed, she gets put in a gilded cage by her closest confidant in a contrived callback to Daniel's past problems. Just because you can put a neat little bow on an unresolved plot thread doesn't mean you should. There should have been a real reckoning between Rex and Kim.

So I guess Kim was subjected to a corrective behavior treatment that might have involved hypnotic drugs converting to Kim in a slave automat a kind of sexbot. I don't say Kim doesn't deserve it but It's a sad ending.

Kim could use some smarts, but no-one controls her, not even her father.

Victor believes the conditioning worked, as he has no idea who Kim really is.
Perhaps Victor is in trouble now and doesn't even know.. 😼
