They seem to change some stuff on the fly and I don't think it's that rigidly planned out. Seems pretty flexible, I'd be down for more of both.

Tbh, that phrasing doesn't necessarily imply lack of planning to me. You can still be "looking to" do something when you know exactly when it'll happen... I think they're simply choosing to not spoil the exact number of frames left in each comic.
