It was not like hip shaper was adding much anyways but I wonder if that was by design and the pills really work that fast in this story even though his breasts and hair did not grow that much relatively to his lower body?

I was referring to the line you can see on the left image vs. the right. That is where the seams of the bottom of the hip shapers were. It was not present in the latest set of images, as demonstrated on the right.
