[Manassas] Culture Chronicles - Exploring the depths of human culture, past and present

Bali is beautiful, the lush jungle, the beaches, the people and the girls. The Bali tourist board put on quite a show for us foreign photographers at the Tirta Empul temple, staging some topless versionsf the Legong dance. Often considered to be the most graceful type of dance on the island due to its complex finger gestures and difficult steps. Only ladies and young girls participate in the Legong dance, and they all dress alike in a gold sabuk or tight brocade with gold trimmings. Because this was the water temple, some of the dances where in the sacred pool.

Clever idea... XXX

The Bali tourist office put on a good show for us. The temple was a great setting to get some good shots of the beautiful local babes. We could even get some of them to kiss each other. Travel agent brochures will become more interesting in the next few months.

(I will be out on a photoshoot in the next few weeks. Further updates maybe around the end of September...)

I have been fascinated by Japan ever since I when there for work year ago. The culture is so different, but the standard of living is high, an interesting combination. In my collection of Japanese woodblock prints I have this mysterious print showing a young woman with white foxes, standing in some sort of passageway. I always wondered what that was about, so I was intrigued to see this add in my news feed for a photo shoot in Kyoto, Japan. There was the young girl and those typical Japanese torii gates forming a passageway. I emailed the provided email address and signed up.

I flew in to Kansai airport and checked out the city of Osaka that evening. I had been there before, so I just snapped a few pictures of babes in the party district, some wearing kimonos, and headed for Kyoto the next day.
The event was at the Fushimi Inari Shinto shrine. It is famous for its thousands of vermilion torii gates, which straddle a network of trails behind its main buildings. Fushimi Inari is the most important of several thousands of shrines dedicated to Inari, the Shinto god of rice. Foxes are thought to be Inari's messengers, resulting in many fox statues across the shrine grounds. I had heard of it, but this was my first visit.

As I neared the shrine I snapped a picture of this cute young couple in traditional costume. The main causeway was busy with visitors, and I spied some amateur photo models in kimonos. The were also going to the event, hoping to be discovered and land modeling careers. Up in the grounds of the shrine was less busy, and the shrine maidens were sweeping the walkways.

The event got underway at one of the series of torii gates. First the professional models posed and we photographers did our stuff. Some of them were willing to do some topless pictures. The organizers had some cute Japanese foxes for the models to hold, to complete the vignette of the young female food goddess and her divine messengers.

left me speechless! INCREDIBLE work!! Such fine attention to detail, such realism... very, very, very nice

On my recent creative break I visited the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. They have some beautiful statues there that I enjoyed admiring. Such grace and beauty.

01 MOMA - Evening.jpg
Evening - Frederick Wellington Ruckstull

Ruckstull intended “Evening” to portray an ideal, rather than a specific being. It illustrates his observation that “everything in nature folds at evening.” The voluptuous figure in a contrapposto stance, and her drowsy, distant expression suggests the approach of sleep.

02 MOMA - Fagilina.jpg
Fragilina - Attilio Piccirilli

Piccirilli carved an uncommissioned series of idealized female nudes. Fragilina is simplified, almost abstract, in form. The head is ovoid, with little articulation in the hair and face, and the eyes appear veiled in stone.

04 MOMA - Marble statue of a wounded Amazon.jpg
Marble statue of a wounded Amazon – Roman - 1st–2nd century CE

In Greek art, the Amazons, a mythical race of warrior women from Asia Minor, were often depicted battling such heroes as Herakles, Achilles, and Theseus. This statue represents a refugee from battle who has lost her weapons and bleeds from a wound under her right breast. Her chiton is unfastened at one shoulder and belted at the waist with a makeshift bit of bridle from her horse. Despite her plight, her face shows no sign of pain or fatigue. She leans lightly on a pillar at her left and rests her right arm gracefully on her head in a gesture often used to denote sleep or death. Such emotional restraint was characteristic of classical art of the second half of the fifth century B.C.
The original statue probably stood in the precinct of the great temple of Artemis at Ephesos.

03 MOMA - Memory.jpg
Memory - Daniel Chester French

For nearly fifty years, French included the allegorical female form in both his private and his public commissions. The sculptor focused on conveying life’s transience through symbolism: the motif of the mirror as well as the work’s title suggests that the figure (and, by analogy, the viewer) is ruminating on the ephemeral nature of beauty, youth, and life.

05 MOMA - Nymph drying her hair.jpg
Nymph drying her hair - Louis Claude Vassé

Vassé's model for this figure was exhibited at the Salon of 1761. The wall fountain was completed between 1761 and 1763 at the behest of the Duc de Chevreuse for the entrance hall of his Château de Dampierre, where it remained until the early twentieth century.

06 MOMA - Venus Italica.jpg
Venus Italica - Workshop of Antonio Canova

Canova's first marble Venus is in the Palazzo Pitti, Florence. Known as the Venus Italica, it was ordered in 1804 by Ludovico I, King of Etruria, as a replacement for the ancient Medici Venus that had been taken by the French for the Musée Napoleon.

Brilliant and intelligent. Super awesome. Of course your work is always three steps ahead and the best combination of real and unreal.

At the MOMA there was a small collection of Egyptian statues that I found fascinating. The description on the display case read:

Wooden Statues of Meretseger

Date:
New Kingdom, c. 1550-1070 BCE
Material: Boxwood
Origin: Deir el-Medina, Thebes

These exquisite boxwood statues depict Meretseger, the cobra goddess who protected the Theban Necropolis. Meretseger, whose name means "She who seduces priests," was revered by the artisans who built and decorated the tombs in the Valley of the Kings.

Each statue stands approximately 30 cm tall and showcases the exceptional skill of New Kingdom woodcarvers. The artisans chose boxwood for its fine grain, light color, and durability, allowing for intricate detailing that has withstood the test of time.

The statues portray Meretseger with the body of a woman and the head of a cobra, embodying her dual nature as both protector and potential threat. The group of statues represent the metamorphosis from woman to serpent.

The smooth, polished surface of the boxwood emphasizes the fluid lines of the goddess's form, creating a striking contrast between her serpentine head and human body. Traces of pigment suggest that these statues were once painted in vibrant colors, though only hints remain visible today.

These statues likely served as votive offerings, placed in shrines or tombs to invoke Meretseger's protection and forgiveness. They offer a rare glimpse into the personal religious practices of the ancient Egyptian artisans and their complex relationship with the divine guardians of their sacred spaces.

In the next case two nineteenth century brass copies of the Meretseger statues are displayed, which were apparently an after dinner talking point in certain archaeological circles.

On the wall the museum displayed some artists impressions of the goddess Meretseger, to illustrate how the ancient Egyptians imagined her, and how priestesses if the temple might have interacted with her. I must admit I found some of the illustrations slightly disturbing…

In the late 1960s, a time brimming with peace, love, and sexual liberation, two stunning hippie girls, Sky and Violet, became the epitome of the era's carefree spirit. Their names were as vibrant as their personalities, and they lived each day in harmony with nature, embracing their sexuality as an integral part of their beings. The story unfolds through a series of tantalizing photographs, capturing their youthful exuberance and burgeoning desires. In the first snaps, they frolicked in a meadow, their tight little jean shorts hugging their hips like a second skin, revealing the faintest outline of their plump, rounded buttocks. The fabric strained against their ample curves, hinting at the delights hidden beneath. Their long, wavy hair danced in the breeze, a testament to their freedom from societal constraints. Their eyes sparkled with mischief as they flashed their pearly white smiles, each showcasing a pair of voluptuous breasts that seemed to defy gravity, threatening to spill out of their flimsy tops.

With each subsequent photograph, the tension grew palpable, a silent symphony of seduction playing out in forest. They discarded their tops and showed of their breasts, the erect nipples that pointed to the sky like tiny erotic compasses navigating the realm of passion.

As the photo shoot progressed, the girls' hunger for each other became too much to bear. They shed their clothing, each movement a deliberate tease, revealing their lush figures. Their large breasts bounced freely, the rosy areolas surrounding their hardened nipples begging for attention.

The final images in the series found them in a moment of unbridled passion, their mouths watering as they eagerly approached the ultimate act of intimacy. Sky's finger traced the delicate folds of Violet's pussy, her thumb gently teasing the swollen clit, while Violet returned the favor, her tongue darting out to taste the sweet nectar of Sky's arousal. The air was thick with the musky scent of desire, and their moans grew louder as their bodies responded to each tender caress. Their eyes locked in a silent pact, promising an evening of unbridled pleasure that would leave them breathless and forever changed.

“Flareup” is a American thriller starring Raquel Welch and James Stacy. The film was released in 1969.
Raquel Welch was an American actress and pop culture icon celebrated for her beauty, charisma, and strong screen presence, rising to fame in the 1960s with roles like One Million Years B.C.. She helped redefine the image of the Hollywood sex symbol by pairing glamour with intelligence, confidence, and independence.

I did some digging in the archives and found a movie poster and some stills not previously released, maybe because they were too raunchy. Welch posed for Playboy magazine in 1979, but the fully nude cover was never released. Until now. Also, some shots of her fucking her co-star James Stacy back at the hotel while they were filming “Flare Up”.

The hot spring

In the heart of the hills, a secluded hot spring mirrors the elegance of a traditional Japanese onsen. The steaming waters, crystal clear and inviting, shimmer under the moonlight, creating an ethereal atmosphere that beckons the curious and the adventurous. Nestled within this serene setting, a mythical beast dwells deep beneath the surface, its true form a mystery. Only its tentacles emerge, slender and sinuous, seeking out the beautiful women who gather here, drawn by the promise of pleasure.

On these enchanted nights, the tentacles rise from the depths, glistening with water and desire. They coil around the women, caressing their skin with a gentle yet insistent touch. The tentacles explore every curve and contour, teasing and tantalizing, before sliding into their mouths, inviting them to taste the essence of the beast. Simultaneously, other tentacles delve deeper, penetrating their pussies and asses with a rhythmic, sensual motion that leaves them breathless and yearning for more.

The women surrender to the pleasure, their bodies arching and swaying as the tentacles move within them, each thrust sending waves of ecstasy through their very core. The beast's touch is both gentle and demanding, its rhythm building to a crescendo that keeps the women on the edge of bliss for hours. In this moonlit sanctuary, the boundaries between fantasy and reality blur, and the women find themselves lost in a world of pure, unbridled pleasure, where the mythical beast satisfies their deepest desires.
