[Various Artists] mixed-3d-animated-topic-and-discussions

I don't know how to respond to this, on the one hand you flatter me with your words, my friend, that means I'm on the right track (y) On the other hand, I am a creator (not yet an artist) who is starting out in animation, so I need my work to be remunerated in order to continue with this project, I have asked for patience from all the members of this forum as well as their support so that in the not too distant future when I have more material available I can share my work here on the forum. In fact, in the absence of District13 in September I shared my first feature film ''Tixc-Toxk'' with you here, So as I fill my patreon with more material I will share more of my work with you, I just ask for your patience and I appreciate all your support. 🤗

I would just like to add that I am a creator born and forged in these ranks and inspired by the works of District13. Sharing my material outside of my Patreon would clip my wings and I would have to leave this project that I am so passionate about. 😞
Your prices are insane for someone that just started out doing this kind of thing.

I appreciate every comment, believe me when I tell you that I learn a lot from them, whether they are in favor or against, thank you for taking the time to comment and as I have always said, if there is even one person who is interested in my work, I will continue doing it. 🤗🤭:giggle:

as an old 3D smut artist who use blender as a main tool all i can say is passion doesn't pay your bills. you spend so much time on it and give it to people for chosen amount of money by you. people gonna pay if your work is good and if you advertise it right. if you don't love to people share it on different websites as free you have rights to say no and having breakdown request. in a certain level subscriber count, if you can making good amount of money to pay your bills and upgrade your rig etc. you likely gonna change your release method to will be releasing for non-subscribers after one week. that's what big and whealty artists do. but you can't make it as a beginner like cvxtreme3d's situation. when you try to replicate animation studio that include 10+ employed team. and you spending so much time to learn and doing it, you need to make money for living if you're old enough. kind regards.

and @CVXtreme3D that leaks can advertise you well and could result in an influx of new subscribers. that's also most big artist do. it's better for 500 people to see your work after it leaks and 50 of them subscribe than for 5 people to see it and 3 of them subscribe. you can offer options like a wip channel or voting for next animation content to give them a reason to subscribe.
That is exactly my point. If you do primarily because you have bills to pay, then maybe it started as some passion but it is now a job. A means to an end. I do agree...leaks bring more subscribers. If you look at the bigger players they ultimately publish their own content to free sites. As it just brings them more eyes. However I guess in the end it all depends on how good your content is and if anyone is willing to pay for it.

These are all valid points of view, and not being a "creator" it's difficult for me to say who is right and who isn't. Being a piratical-type for the most part, but supported those I choose to (and can afford ... no deep pockets here). I understand the author's rights ... but if it's posted, and I find it intriguing, chances are that I will snag it ... possibly "following" the artist's progress. I found myself attracted to District13/Nini's storytelling and imagery, so when the original D13 request page folded up (thanks, Mr Putin), I stepped up and threw my support and money her way ... either that, or the sources at the time completely dried up; I went full in and eventually, after being coaxed by a fellow member, to start a group and continued in the footsteps of the original "request group" ... for better or worse, the group still thrives ... after a bumpy start, and taken to the woodshed by Nini herself ... but we came to an accord. I like to think that by sharing her works, not immediately out of the gate ... but in a somewhat timely manner, I may have done my small part in increasing her subscribers.
Still ... and this is the dilemma of sorts ... once it's out there, it sort of becomes "public domain" ...
I'm a moderate fan of NickCockman's work ... it was his work, Trish627's, MaxMax, Caligula ... I'm a dyed in the wool TK17 fanboy I guess ... those artists grabbed my attention and got me off and running with this weird little "hobby" of mine. Recently NickCockman pulled almost all of his work off the "shelf" so
to to speak. People ripping him off left and right ... immediately after a release. I'm just as guilty as anyone because if it became suddenly available, I'd download it for the collection. So now, a lot of his stuff is unavailable; completely understandable from his point of view. At the same time it lessens his chances of hooking a new group of viewers who might become potential subscribers. "Word of mouth" and buzz can be a good thing ... depriving new viewers of your works can, at the same time, result in a smaller pool of a potential huge market out there. NC's current work ... somewhat a shadow of his best videos. IMHO.
The blade cuts both ways.
I can only suggest a middle of the road solution. Wait a certain period of time ... bite the bullet ... then release a bit here and there. Not that I'm in a position to
advise, but I'm always amused to see how many of my Nini "fan-edits" are posted on a myriad of sites. It's an odd feeling to see it elsewhere, that's for sure.
But ror me ... since it's a hobby & a passion, I get over it, because I've done my part sharing her work, which may or may not added to her list of subscribers ... who knows?
What's the answer? Piracy is a fact-of-life on the Web. The solution? I'll leave that to the poets and philosophers to figure out.
I'm gonna grab a beer now ...
Shots cheers.gif

I think in the end it is about balance and what balance works for that artist. I personally feel NickCockman went an extreme route, but $8 is not that bad when you look at the quality of work. Now I am sorry if anyone feels bad about this. But...I am not paying $10 - $20 a month for amateur level quality work to watch a couple of 5 minute clips per month. Dakoassman and others all fall into this bucket.

I find many new artist especially the VaM ones are going down this path. While new Sims 4 artist (Who arguably are much better at creating more engaging content) are keeping their prices in the $3 - $5 range....these VaM artist are on another level. It is what it is...people can do whatever they want...and someone will ultimately pay it...but just not little ol me.

Nobody feels bad about your opinion, which is as valid as the others. This thread is for sharing and for giving opinions, so feel free to express your opinions, my friend. Everything counts as long as respect and sanity are maintained.

PS: You've got me curious, who charges 3 and 5? I'd like to see their work. (All the artists that I think are worthwhile are in the range of 20 to 50)

PS2: For the record, I don't consider myself an amateur since I've been in this animation business for 10 years. In fact, I opened my patreon 7 years ago and due to real-life reasons I abandoned it for a long time and just a few months ago I reopened it and this time I'm taking it very seriously and with commitment. I have never seen an artist charge 20 - 50 a month to watch some videos. If you know some I would be curious to know who they are. That said the more established folks charge somewhere in the range of $10 for the mid level sub.

But let me break it down....this is all their prices...that will get you videos from folks I consider Amateur tier.

Nickcockman is 8$ per month (TK17) Does 20 - 30 Minute Long Series
JackieCoxSims is $10 per month uses Sims 4 Does 7 - 10 minute long Story based videos
sumthingextra69 is $5 per month - SFM/Blender Creator..mainly does shorts and some long form
Dreyeko22 is $8 per month (This guy's patreon is less than a year old and he is already at 189 Subs) 2D animation
District13 is $10 a month for the monthly drop. I would say District13 is the middle ground between Amateur and Pro..my opinion

Professional Tier Content (Voice Actors, High Quality Animations, mainly Blender artist)
DualFaceArt is $5 a month
Jackerman is $15 a month
Icky Sticky is $5 a month
x3D is $5 a month

Not trying to come at you hard but @CVXtreme3D you and dakoassman have some of the most expensive Patreon subs I have seen at $20+/month. Even when I started looking at other VaM content none of them priced that high. Szyca a popular artist is still $10/month has over 250 subs and content is leaked all over Rule34Video.

Like I said you do what is best for you, just saying it is not the norm from my perspective.

I'll say it again, please don't take offense, there are examples of artists like sumthingextra69, I thought this guy's SFM work was very good, but he had a hard time switching to Blender and has been trying for years.

I agree with you here Sumthingextra is very much stuck in that amateur tier. I followed him for years and you are right his SFM stuff was top tier for SFM, but when he started trying to go Blender it just did not hit the way his SFM content did.

Also. Calling someone an artist does not take away from the professional dimension of their work. There is such a thing as a "Professional Artist" and a "Amateur Artist". You can be Blender artist and still produce very amateurish content (We see it all the time). Just because you use Blender does not mean you are a Pro. and Just because you use VaM or other software does not mean you are a amateur.

I think the difference is purely based on quality of product. I've seen so professional quality work with SFM. However, I have yet to see anything made with TK17, VaM, Honey Select, etc hit that pro quality mark.

sumthingextra69's works are very good and if we talk about Jackerman I think he is on another level of animation, textures and setting. It's a shame that his stories are so short, D13 is my inspiration because she has the best stories and for me the best models in the whole field. She only has one defect and that is that she knows what most men like and she torments us with it. 🥴🥴

Let me clarify, for me sex with a story is the best, but the creators who make their 60-second clips of fierce sex are the ones who have the most subscribers, does anyone know why?

My point is that if a creator asks for 10 or 20 for his work and someone is willing to pay it, I think it is unnecessary to discuss whether he is doing right or wrong,In my case, and I think you won't believe this, I put those two options just to see if someone liked my work and would pay for it, And yes,at the moment 28 people think that my work is worth it, which commits me to improve every day and believe me when I tell you that I put all my effort into it. :giggle:

PS: Does Jackerman really charge 15? I'm going to go see 🥴🥴

Hot take and maybe people will dislike me for saying it but vam wise I prefer Fyronyx even over D13. Left a really bad taste in my mouth with all the times you pay for sometimes even nothing. No access to old content at all in any way shape or form (not even talking about the controversial stuff). Also the breasts always look so much better to me at least.

Hey if you guys are looking for something different than the usual Busty Asian Doll. Maybe something with more of the "Urban" flair I definitely recommend this artist. Dreyeko22

He is a 2D artist but his style is like none other. Very unique, very layered stories. Patreon sub is also worth the $8. Dude just dropped a 1 hour feature.
